Trinitas Mundus - The Story of Saint Knight Ray

Episode 79: The Duke of Kilgaroho

Oct. 20, 11 a.m.

The Rays, who resigned under Lord Braveburn, return straight to the headquarters of the Mercenary Corps of Markat.

(In the meantime, go with Ash and Stella to the Adventurer Guild to claim your reward. After that, we need to hurry up and get ready to leave...)

Back at HQ, he gives Ashley and Stella an overview of his story with Lord Braveburn and invites them to go get paid at the Adventurer Guild.

Handing over the proof of completion received from Lord Braveburn to the Receptionist of the Adventurer's Guild, he falls back once. And after about five minutes, he held the leather bag in four hands and came back.

"Dear Ray Arklight, Ashley Marcutt and Stella. It's a reward from the Knights of the Springs headquarters."

The receptionist smiles and hands each of them a rewarded leather bag.

"Twenty-two-day reward of one hundred C (Krona) (= equivalent to one million yen) plus five thousand C as a bonus to the Battle of Millis Valley, respectively, and even more to Mr. Arklight as a bonus to the report."

Ray is surprised at that forehead and his face is tense.

"Five thousand? Five hundred mistakes?

The receptionist said, "Yes, it is specified as five thousand C," and does not break his grinning smile.

(Seven thousand C for five hundred prepayments… seven thousand six hundred C in total, so seven million six hundred thousand yen. It's not a level of coloring... now the possession is 31,000 C, so don't have more than 30 million yen. I'm going to another land now, so I'd appreciate it...)

And the receptionist stood up as if she remembered,

"Master Stella has been promoted to Grade Six for this achievement. Congratulations."

To this, Ray and Ashley both gave their heartfelt blessings, and the three rolled out to the city to prepare themselves for the journey.

The three of them go first to the weapons store district to check on the status of weapons and protective equipment that hurt in the battle.

"I heard you both had a pretty sore sword?

Ashley laughs bitterly at Ray's question.

"Oh, if you'd just slashed that many, the blade would have completely crushed. Stella's sword was better."

"Right. There are other people's weapons, and I wonder if it would be tough to get them to hurry..."

"Right. But do we need to hurry so much? I don't think Lord Kilgaroho is going to do anything about it.

Ashley is not convinced by Ray's explanation and speaks out his doubts.

"Right. I don't think the Duke himself will give any instructions, but what will the people around him do... especially the ones who were with Captain Arwell in the Third Battalion will assume that I am the Knights Commander, Lord Braveburn..."

"If that's what you say, I guess so. Then there is also the option of being under Lord Braveburn's asylum until things settle down?

Ray thought a little,

"Right...... in a different way. Is that dangerous?

"In a different way?

"Yes, as I said earlier, many people think of me as Lord Braveburn's handler. It's like saying that if you hide in the duke's place, you're a duke's employee from yourself. If you do, you will not be able to leave this country freely..."

And he was worried about what to say.

"Perhaps there will be major disturbances in the near future. It's like this king's capital (Fonce) is in turmoil..."

Ashley inadvertently stopped walking and said, "He said it was a commotion!," he said, raising his voice.

"When I talked to the Duke, I hung up a little. Then the Duke told me I should leave Fonce because something was going to happen."

Ashley silenced,

(If Your Excellency is concerned, something will happen. I risk my life to protect Ray. But if I can avoid danger, I've never crossed it. But there are still fathers and brothers Al in this city. That's what's left of me...)

Ray sees how it goes and realizes she's worried about her family.

"Mr. Hamish said not to worry. I'm sure it's safe, because I don't give a shit about the Mercenaries in this situation, but I'm a little worried about that, too."

Stella listened to the two of them,

(Something happens to Master Ray?... What can I do? ……

She thinks about what she can do, but she can't think of anything.

"Dear Ray, what should I do?

Ray is surprised at the sudden inquiry,

"I don't think there's much direct danger to us. I need to do something like walk alone or ride someone's invitation. So now you just have to think about leaving."

He puts his hand on Stella's shoulder and smiles and tells her so.

(I hope nothing happens until the day after tomorrow...)

He was going to leave the day after tomorrow, October 22nd, even if he didn't finish taking care of the two weapons.

When I go to the blacksmith's Bartel store and tell him I'm in a hurry, I'll finish taking care of him by tomorrow, I can tell him.

"It's a favor for a hero in Millis Valley. I'll take good care of it by tomorrow."

"I'm sorry. I've got a little rush to run."

Ashley bows her head lightly.

"You've just finished a fierce battle, but you're busy. Well, you won't be comfortable without your weapon on your hips."

Bartel didn't ask what was going on and laughed and went back to work.

Ray was relieved that Gusta, the armorer, would also complete his care by tomorrow, and that he seemed to manage to make it.

But as he thought, things didn't go.

October 20th, 10am.

The Duke of Augusta Kilgaroho had thought about the disposition of his second son, Arwell.

(After stripping the family of its name, it is certain that it will be condemned to death. How will you publish it later?)

As a member of the Duke's family, he took for granted the death of his second son, who had been wounded by his family name. I was thinking about timing and how to be the best for the Duke of Kilgaroho.

(Public execution is the best, but there is no place. You can go in front of my mansion, but the people in the house will hate it. But if we go public, they'll think we let him get away with it. I still have to do it in front of the mansion......)

And I'm going to think about the time of execution.

(It is better to do it as soon as possible. But he's still being held captive by the Knights. Do I have to start with that request? At times like this, my Kilgaroho family is in trouble. There is no way to pass on rumors to the civilian population that the Knights will be handed over and publicly executed. Braveburn can use the soldiers, Inverhollow can use the merchants. This looks like you should think about it a little bit. If you think about increasing our hand pawns...)

He calls for a house slaughter and orders the Knights to demand Arwell's personality and to ask the Royal Palace to carry out a public execution in front of the mansion.

(This is fine. Rumors are circulating that Non is ruthless, but we have to change this to the image of a patriot. Do you wish to speak directly to His Majesty during the morning meeting? Thoughtful of the soldiers...)

In order to strike another hand, he decided to gather the nobles with whom he had his own influence.

That evening, at the residence of the Duke of Kilgaroho, the Viscount, the lower nobles of the Baron class and the knights serving the Kilgaroho family were gathered.

The fame was to celebrate the victory of the battle against the Demons and to mourn the soldiers who died in the war because of Arwell's lapse.

When dozens of lower nobles gather, Lord Kilgaroho begins his speech.

"Arwell Kilgaroho, the son of Non, did so much damage to our kingdom. That's not all. Shamelessly, they fled their enemies, shielding the warriors who continued to fight. Xu regretted this, and after taking the family name of Kilgaroho from my son, decided to execute him publicly in Kilgaroho's name."

The nobles are obsessed with the term public execution.

"No formal announcement has yet been made, but this is also the intention of His Majesty. His Majesty was told. The end of the Kilgaroho family. In the name of the House of the Leading Duke, we want the best possible disposition."

The venue quiets in an instant, waiting for the Duke's next word.

"Non thought of Arwell as a proud son with martial arts talent. But he had no eyes to see, and he chose my son as his commander, and he lost many brave men. This thing is truly the extreme of hatred. It is indeed hard to lose my beloved son. But more than that, it is regrettable to have lost a young man who has died for his kingdom. I want you guys to think about it. Even the aristocrats say that it is only because of the country. That nothing like renouncing our duty to defend our country can be noble, knightly."

Those gathered together in the Word snort. But no one realised that there was a face in it that looked at the Duke with hatred.

"Non demanded of the Knights Arwell's figure. Unfortunately, as soon as I receive my figure, I will behead him in front of my mansion. Again, this is a decision as Duke of Kilgaroho and Head Duke. No objections!

That's all the Duke said, he walked away from the spot.

The gathered aristocrats had not dissolved immediately, had found acquaintances and had begun to speak in a small voice about the present decision.

"Do what you think is best, my lord."

"Dear Left, Arwell was more adorable than your eldest son, Fabian. We also thought Arwell was the lead candidate for the next term."

"Master Fabian lacks the talent of martial arts and cannot be as cold as His Excellency. Well put, you'll be kind, but I'm sure your Excellency was unhappy with that."

"We must also learn from Fabian."

They left the mansion immediately to meet their eldest son Fabian, who is in Kilgaroho territory.

Next, October 21st, 11am.

King Lionel XII had gathered the Four Dukes and the main nobles for a morning meeting.

On that occasion, Arwell Kilgaroho's guilt was disputed and a disposition announced.

"Arwell Kilgaroho's deeds are unacceptable as kings. It is not enough to dispose of it as part of the Knights. The rest were to be left to Lord Kilgaroho, the chief nobleman, to dispose of him. The public, as a flourishing nobleman, will make a shameless disposition."

Some of those present leaned their heads on the ruling, but many learned of the Duke's statement yesterday at the Kilgaroho residence, and no one contested it on the grounds that coordination with the Four Dukes was over.

3pm.

In the square in front of the royal palace, a public notice will be posted about Arwell's disposition.

A discerning citizen discovered it and the story soon spread.

Citizens were outraged at the King's renunciation of his own responsibilities and his reluctance to the Duke of Kilgarojo.

"Your Majesty doesn't seem willing to take responsibility for appointing that coward. Speaking of leaving it up to the Duke of Kilgaroho, sounds good, but aren't you even making a back deal?

"Right. I guess I'm going to wait for most of them to cool down for a good reason."

"Even if I were to execute him, I didn't know if I really executed him. In the first place, if you're going to make it a death sentence, the Knights just have to dispose of it. As long as it's suspicious that you won't let it."

They said so verbally, spreading more rumors.

3pm.

Fabian Kilgaroho, the eldest son of the Kilgaroho family, heard about the disposition of his brother Arwell in one of the Kilgaroho family mansions, fifty km from Fonce, the king's capital.

(We're talking about Father making Arwell a public execution, is that true? Didn't you have to take this story in the first place? Even if it was taken from His Majesty, when it came to obeying the Knights disposition, that shouldn't have been a problem. My father now just seems in a hurry......)

The next morning he decides to leave for the King's Capital, but in his heart was a black cloud.

4 pm.

The Duke of Augusta Kilgaroho officially requested the extradition of Arwell's figure to the Knights.

In the Knights an answer will be given that the investigation will be handed over on the afternoon of October 22 the following day, as it has not yet been completed.

The Duke announced that he would be sentenced to public execution in front of the mansion at 3 p.m. after the handover of his body the following day.

(Tomorrow, everything will be resolved. As His Majesty thought (...), let's make it look like you deserve to be the lead duke...)

He had already thought about Arwell as a past and how to strengthen his own power base.

(You were clueless about the civilians. I can't strengthen my influence on the Knights for a while. We can only strengthen the pipes with the merchants. If you let him look you in the eye somewhat better, if he is good at profit, he should be good at it...)

His thoughts will be overshadowed by one knight.
