Trinitas Mundus - The Story of Saint Knight Ray
Lesson 49: Moving
After the night of December 19th.
Under Varma Niska, a Moon Demon tribe lurking in the West End, a wing demon who was keeping an eye on the city's perimeter came to report.
Wingman reported that he had erected backwoods and other defensive equipment around the city and that the magicians had installed something that looked like a magic formation.
Varma expected about the defensive facility, but heard of the magic formation, "... the magic formation? What kind of stuff is that?," he questioned.
The Wingman tells him that the Beastman's training, "Who", is guarded, so he can't even get close.
Varma said, "The Beast Man? Are you referring to the beasts who were with your son from Rickadale before?," he murmurs, telling him that the Wingman is right. And I also told them that if I approached them inadvertently, they would erase the signs and attack me.
Varma was wondering how we should deal with this information.
(The previous ones would be troublesome. Still, I'm curious about that magic formation... but we can't lose the Wing Demon here... for now, we need to tell Orvo - the Commander of the Demon Army, Orvo Kronvar of the Great Ghost Nation. I'll just have to leave it to him...)
When she concludes so, she takes out the paper and starts writing letters.
I had just finished writing and ordered the Wingman to carry it.
"Give it to Orvo. If you have any message from the other side, take it."
The Wingman nodded small and disappeared again into the darkness of the night.
Varma, who had dropped it off, was feeling creepy about Ray, who would have let him set up a magic formation.
(What are you going to do? I expected Asaki, but the magic team is unexpected. The information Michelle the puppet brought during the day tells me that scholars in academic cities are helping to defend this city, and maybe defensive magic we don't know about... and that's abominable, that mage. Orvo would be fine because he's cautious, but if that magician thought about it, he wouldn't freak out whatever happened...)
The night of December 20th dawned.
Ray was on his way to Alliance headquarters early in the morning. He was going to give his opinion to Defense Commander Randal Ogburn in order to persuade Maximilian Paredes, the Holy Knight of Light Divinity, who breathes when he goes out.
(The Holy Knight has high pride. Especially that captain, whose trend is remarkable. Then if you satisfy that enlarged self-esteem, you'll be able to grip the reins...)
As soon as I got to HQ, I started telling Randall what I was up to.
"Let's treat the Saints as the main force. He wants us to wait until then, as we draw our enemies to the Holy Knight."
Randall said, "So you hear what that general has to say?" and say the question.
Ray nodded, "That's not enough,"
"I want to show the people of the city the majesty of the Holy Knight. So he wants you to try a showdown near the city."
As soon as I heard Ray's words, Randall started laughing.
"Then you're going to come aboard. All you have to do is see how good I can make that guy feel... Okay, I'm going to go convince him now. You come with me."
Ray smiled bitterly, "Okay," he replied, heading to the Inn where Paredes and the others were staying.
When they arrived at the inn, Paredes and the others were already ready to go.
They were all weaving white armor and white capes and riding fine military horses with spears in their hands.
As soon as Randall spots Paredes, he starts talking.
"That's just spectacular. The majesty of the Holy Knights."
To the words Paredes distorted his mouth, "Anyone in the countryside would say so," but his eyes glowed satisfactorily.
"No, you're right, we're certainly out of the country. If you look at the bravery of the Holy Knight, you'll want to raise your voice. By the way, can I talk to you for a second?"
Because Randall is out in a bad mood, it feels like Paredes can't help but say, "It's before we go out. Just a quick favor," he says, going down the horse.
Sitting in a chair prepared by his lowest surname, he said, "What's the story?" and don't break your dignified attitude.
Meanwhile, Randall kept grinning,
"Talking is a continuation of what we're talking about. I thought it would be a shame not to show this brave Holy Knight to the people of our city. That's right, it's the destruction of the enemy's main force near the city that will increase your awe of the Holy Knights. Our patron saint, the Holy Knight, must destroy enemies in the vicinity of the city."
An obvious compliment, but Paredes makes his nose rough and gives a satisfying grin from time to time.
"I know you want to, but we can't talk about the enemy not coming out of fear of us."
Randall laughed niggly as he had eaten,
"Of course, we're thinking about that. Let us draw our enemies into the grasslands east of the city, the best battlefield for the Holy Knights and others. There, the people of the city will see your ambitions."
Furthermore, Randall speaks of obedience, but Paredes does not notice.
Paredes nodded "um,"
"That's certainly more efficient. Okay, then let's just say I'll leave it to you. But if it's gonna take too long, we're gonna kick it out."
Randall nodded at it,
"Of course it is. I'll pull it out and show it to you by the end of the year."
Paredes nods satisfactorily to Randall's words and gives orders to the knights under his command.
"Deployment is postponed! Stand by until the people of the city pull out the main team of the Demon Clan!
The Sacred Knights in response to the words of Paredes, some had a distinctly hospitable look.
Ray looked at that,
(I knew it was this captain's rampage... I wonder if there would be a slightly better commander out there if I got rid of this captain... it's phototheistic, and I might not be able to expect it. This captain is simpler and I guess I'll just keep seeing how it goes)
Randall and Ray return to Alliance headquarters after seeing the Saints enter the Inn where they are quartered.
On that road, Randall has spoken to Ray with a serious look.
"To be honest, those saints can only be troublemakers. I'm thinking of using them... Ray, let me know what you think."
Ray quickly understood how Randall intended to use the Sacred Knight for the word "Yi".
(Mr. Randall is going to use the Holy Knights as bait to draw his enemies into the trap. I don't know anyone but that captain, but I don't like to use it for...)
After a moment of silence, Ray slowly started talking.
"Honestly, the Holy Knights, no, I make it easy on that Captain Paredes. But using it as bait to draw in enemies..."
The last word was cloudy, but Ray's thoughts were passed on to Randall.
Randall put his hand on Ray's shoulder,
"You're sweet. But in order for your plan to succeed, someone has to. You know that, don't you?
Ray nods small and replies, "I know,"
"Then you also know those guys are the best. To protect the city, to protect our people. I know it's up to you, but enjoy it."
That's what Randall said, he was thinking of something else.
(Does Ray know? If this guy's measures succeed, a thousand and five hundred demons will lose their lives. Even though they are demons, they are not demons. He's the same person we are, even though he's our enemy. I can break it off, but when this guy realizes this, can he stand that fact...)
Ray answered nothing, but Randall breaks that story off there and changes the subject.
"Ten days to go, but you'll be fine setting up the trap, won't you?
Ray was thinking about the Saints, but his heart gets a little lighter about Randall changing the subject.
(Guess I'll just have to leave it to the flow to talk about the Saints. Mr. Randall doesn't seem to want answers from me either...)
Ray loosened his expression there,
"The East End trick is pretty tough, but we'll be fine in the next five days. The biggest problem is that we have to explain the operation to our allies, but we can't because we haven't found any puppets."
Randall nods, "Right,"
"Leave that to the Intelligence Division. Rubbing your mind doesn't mean you'll find a puppet. Focus on the operation now."
"Right," Ray answers vaguely.
And he gave me a slightly blown out look,
"Okay! I'll leave it to the Information Division. So I'm going to check the setup status now."
That said, he ran with Stella to the East End.
The remaining Randall thought it would have been nice if he had really blown it off, but he quickly went back to his work, which was piling up.
Adventurer Guild intelligence instructor Intosh was conducting an interview around a whorehouse in the West End. He was still young as an intelligence clerk with many adventurers retiring to be twenty-five.
Intosh was originally a scout-based adventurer, but realized he was the character he conceived and quit his job as an adventurer who needed instant judgment. And he was recruited by the Alliance's Intelligence Division as a temporary official for about six months. It was said that although still not a regular official, it was gradually being appreciated and would soon be formally recruited.
He was searching for Michelle, a demonic puppet, to do some authentic listening work. And as I was organizing that information, I was starting to wonder if she wasn't a whore.
(He went into the whorehouse on his head this month, but he barely took any customers. Talking about whores in the same hall, they didn't have any trouble with the money... and the fact that they never saw their faces in the neighborhood wasn't residents of the West End. Are you from outside the city or from other districts... because doesn't that mean you're unlikely to be lurking in this district?
When I thought that far, one woman came into his sight. The woman was a young woman around twenty years of age, closely resembling the characteristics of Michelle, who was considered the puppet Kutsuku.
(Could it be a target (Michelle)? But why by now?
The woman slowly walks north in her gait.
Intosh erased the signs and began to follow her trail, but yet, doubts were swirling in his head.
(Why are you wandering around here by now? You must know the whorehouse was searched for. Maybe it's a trap...... but now I'm the only one. I can't even contact HQ, well, what's the matter...)
I follow the trail of a woman even though I think so.
She turns west and keeps walking further.
(You should just check where you're going for now. Then we go back to HQ and raid the safe house. That's all I have......)
He checked the position of the short sword on his hips and followed the woman further.
The woman entered the loneliest section of the West End. Intosh enters that compartment, guarding his surroundings.
It was originally the end-of-place drinking district, with many ruins, and was said to be a dangerous district. The residents here had no shards of patriotism, and no one had the temper to fight the Demons further to receive a bounty, so when rumors of the Demons' raid spread, they fled to another city.
As a result, the impression that people were seldom seen and abandoned became stronger.
Intosh explores the signs,
(That's awkward. I have a bad feeling about it and I can't help it...... once I pull it off, maybe I should lice it with man-made sea tactics)
Though he thought so, he couldn't make a decision, and sloppily, he was following the woman.
The woman walked into an abandoned house when he finally tried to turn back her heels with a disconnect.
(Is that the puppet's lair over there? Raise the handle here and it will be formally adopted. You should leave enough to peek inside)
He turns behind the abandoned house and sticks to the wall. And I hung my hand on one of the wooden windows and tried to peek inside.
That's when I heard a young woman behind him. The voice was a glossy and attractive voice.
Intosh looked slowly at the voice, with cold things flowing through his back. There stood a beautiful woman with a cool impression of white and beautiful on her dark hair, unlike the woman she was chasing. But on her back stood a raven-like pitch-black wing, beside which stood a demon, a wingman, that had been unveiled yesterday.
There was a black misty thing flowing from their bodies, gradually toward the intosh.
He took a breath in the sight for a moment, unable to speak out. But soon he realized he was in a dangerous situation and tried to raise his voice.
But just before he uttered his voice, a black fog mounted on him and he lost consciousness.
The brunette, Varma, looked satisfied and, after looking at Intosh, ordered the Wingman to "carry her inside the house".
