Episode 67: The Pericritle Offensive Battle: Part Two

December 26, around 11 a.m.

The Demon Army succeeded in entering the city of Pericritle.

The Middle-Haunted Troops, dominated by Orcs, lead the way, breaking in through the East Gate in the form of following the retreat of the adventurers who were in defense. They were followed by a great ghost tribe dominated by a large demonic orga over three metres tall, about to knock over a sturdy gate less than 10 metres wide.

Orvo Kronvar of the Great Ghost tribe, who commands the entire army of the Demonic Army, followed the Middle-Ghost tribe in a swine protrusion and had himself made his way into the city.

The city of Periclitle is about 1 km north and south and 3 km east and west, surrounded by wooden walls pierced by thick round-tails.

Wooden buildings crept through the city, but the main street connecting the gates to the east, west and north was 10 meters wide to make it easier and different for large wagons.

Unlike the city's eastern district, which is lined with commercial districts hanging from north to west, and adventurers' workshops and inns on the south side, it is a residential district for people living in the city.

For this reason, the long houses of two-story houses and bungalows lined up and the roads that would otherwise have been wide were narrowed by the effects of the additions, some of which even had maze-like structures.

In the East Side, even the city's inhabitants were so entwined that they were told they would be lost. For this reason, in the Adventurer's Guild, which is also the administration, it was so much so that it had felt the need for zoning for decades.

The adventurers, who were fighting outside the city as defense forces, break up with those who flee the boulevard and those who flee into the alley that entered like its maze. There were about a thousand and five hundred adventurers, but they disappeared into the city beautifully, amazingly wondering if the demonic army they were tracking was magical.

An elite unit, led by Periclitle's defense chief Randall Ogburn, was delaying the advance of the Middle-Ghost unit while serving as the hall of honor, Shinkansen.

Sometimes, however, the retreat battle prevented him from closing the castle gate at the east gate. That's why I allowed the demon army to break in.

Randall confirmed that the injured man had preceded him and then told the adventurers fighting with him, "It's the limit now! Spread out and retreat!," he exclaims, fleeing west on his horse down Boulevard himself.

The adventurers of the elite troops fled into the alley one after the other as they disturbed the calculations.

In the meantime, Ray followed Randall and proceeded west down Main Street.

The Commander of the Middle-Ghost Clan, Vaino Budosco, was convinced of the victory with the escape of a blackened man who looked like an enemy commander and a white sorcerer.

He decided that the commander's escape ended the organized resistance. Ordered the warriors under his command to sweep the remaining enemies, he himself decided to go after the great white magician.

I just couldn't catch up with the horses running at all costs, but it was a straight path and I didn't have to worry about losing sight of them.

"Hunt him down! Don't let the Great Ghosts take his grip! Go!"

Vaino skips instructions to his men in an exalted mood drunk on victory.

My men were equally convinced of the victory and were only attentive to how they could be handled.

Where Vaino and the others ran about 300m, a luggage car jumped out to pinch from both sides of the road.

The luggage carriage is fitted with spears and several medium ghost warriors are skewered.

Vaino gets angry at the tactics of that palliative enemy. Because I felt watered down by the exalted mood of catching the enemy's big man. He said, "There's a rat lurking! Broil it out!" he ordered, leaving it to his wrath.

A few medium ghost warriors and a dozen orcs on that order followed an adventurer who had pushed his luggage out into the alley.

"It's the last evil ascension! Whoever kills the White Mage will get the greatest honor! The grace prize stays with me! Proceed! Don't worry about the enemy's palliative resistance or anything! Don't let the big guy get away with it!

Vaino still hadn't realized he was drawn to the enemy.

Stella was lurking on the roof of a home close to the outer wall with several scouts.

In her eyes, hundreds of orcs chasing Ray and adventurers fleeing through the alley were visible from a slight slice of the building.

"Gentlemen, prepare yourselves," she calls out to the scouts.

The scoundrels who nodded scattered in their respective fields.

Ashley was taking his men's young adventurers and running down an alley in the East End. From time to time, she walks through complicated alleys, running her gaze like she was looking for something.

"When it's off, follow the landmarks and move west! The enemy is close!

She was right, a group of medium ghost warriors and orcs were chasing right behind her, and the spectacular ghost (...) was turning into a mess.

By entering a narrow alley several times, he could no longer see the enemy coming after him. And the screaming roar of oak echoed from behind.

(Apparently it's succeeding. Depends on when the enemy notices, but so far it's working...)

The Middle-Ghost Warrior was tracking down a unit commanded by a large female warrior.

Struggling through a narrow alley about a metre wide, he chases, but he was excited before a definite victory.

"Go around! Go around! Same as hunting. You just have to broil it out and finish it!

He ordered his men's warriors to do so and divided the troops into two parts.

In a narrow alley, it was decided that tracking would be easier than leading a large unit. But he doesn't know that this tracking play was planted and that we are drawn to the trap.

Screaming from the parted troops.

He wondered what was going on and began to be vigilant around him wondering if he was also an ambush. But there are no signs of people, and they start chasing their enemies again. But because of the winding alley, he quickly lost sight of the enemy.

He said, "Find it!" and ordered himself to kick open the door of the nearby house.

Shortly thereafter, he is blown out with a voice that cannot even scream with the sound of Don. Coming out of the entrance into the alley, his chest was growing a pile of wood about ten cm in diameter with a pointed tip.

The pile was suspended from the ceiling, and when the door was opened, the stopper came off and set up to come towards the entrance like a pendulum.

The Middle-Ghost warrior tried to scream as it was a trap, holding the pile in his arms, but not in a state where he could already speak, but just gush blood out of his mouth with Gobogobo.

His men will see how it goes and increase their vigilance.

However, various traps were set up in the alley. Simple pitfalls - the bottom was filled with sticks of pointy trees - or various traps were planted where thin threads were stretched and when you pulled them, sand was placed from the roof and barrels that added weight fell.

The demons who entered the alley chased their enemies, wary of the trap, but the damage gradually increased.

Orvo hears about the trap from a medium ghost warrior, who still reassures him the other way around that there was a trap.

(Compared to his persistent reconnaissance to the battlefield, he was uncomfortable with reckless cavalry assaults, passive combat in the field. But now we finally know. The purpose of the white magician. I see, you noticed your disadvantage in the field and brought it into a city fight that brought the interests of the land to life...)

Orvo laughed.

(By setting a trap, it drains this one's power. I've been reading the psychology of the Ghost Clan a lot during the pork bump... that's something like a white magician. Hopefully, we can narrow the overwhelmingly unfavourable battle power gap... but it won't work for our Great Ghost Clan at this level of trap. Well, even if you try to reduce the number slightly, the Great Ghost Clan and the Auga alone can destroy the enemy. Now my victory is assured...)

He boosted his confidence from the fact that his thoughts had sincerely fallen, ordering him to move deeper into the city.

Vaino, a ghost tribe in the lead, finds himself stunned when he realizes that a defensive fence has been built about a km away.

I couldn't see anything while I was going down the boulevard, but suddenly something like a wall fell and a defensive fence popped into my eyes.

Around fifty meters in front of him was lined with backwoods sharply pointing at the edge of the war, behind which was a fence that looked sturdy made of marutai. There was also a viewing deck about five meters high, where the enemy commander-like man and the white magician stood.

Ray had subtly remodeled the boulevard building in such a way that it would stick out a few meters at a time. This made the outlook for the boulevard, which was supposed to be straight, only advantageous in hundreds of meters, so that the following demonic armies sometimes could not see the side of the Pericritle army.

In addition, a gate-like structure was made between the buildings at the end, and a large white cloth - an object sewn together with sheets - was drooling over what made the streets depict. As a result, the presence of a defensive fence was not visible in the distance, and the upper edge of the cloth became like a part of the building, and it only seemed like the streets were continuing in a glance.

Of course, if you look closely, it's obviously to the point of being a painting, but the excited Demon Army didn't realize that until it got pretty close. With their approach the gate was pulled down, and a defensive facility suddenly appeared before their eyes. It just seemed like a magic defensive facility to them, and they panicked for a moment.

The upset Vaino inadvertently stopped the march.

As we predicted its timing, arrows are released from the Periclitle army, which was behind the fence. Arrows poured like rain on the Middle-Haunted Troops, which stood on a 10m wide boulevard.

The Middle-Ghost warriors, who had no shield, rushed into a nearby private house. But there was a trap there, too.

Shortly after the Demon Army opened the door and went inside, the building began to shake with the sound of Don and collapsed at once.

Several houses collapsed, nearly thirty warriors and nearly fifty oaks underneath. Fortunately, Vaino entered the gap between the building's beams, escaping the difficulties, but the orcs who lost their escape became the food for arrows one after another.

Vaino was biting his teeth under an abandoned private house.

(cowardly! If it's a battle of grandeur, you can't beat it... but the traps and so on will soon run out. The same goes for arrows. Enough force pushing after......)

Defense chief Randall Ogburn stood on a lookout stand inside the defensive measures and watched the war.

He was relieved that the trap he had set in the East End was working.

(That's Ray's trap. It does a lot of damage to the Middle-Ghost and Oak. Around 20% to 30% would be damaged. But this is not the cunning part of his trap...)

He remembered a young man who had been beside himself until earlier, only slightly at war.

(Who the hell is he? I can even think of a trap so far. But I guess the trap after this can be executed even if you come up with it... but this is the first time anyone has read people's thoughts so far. I'm really glad he's on my side...)

He sent a signal from the observatory that the operation had entered the next phase.

The Orvo of the Great Ghost tribe also saw enemy defensive fences.

He could afford to admire the seemingly strong defensive fence.

(Well, you've just chosen the city for the showdown. Breaking through that one is going to break my bones pretty bad. But the enemy doesn't have the power to attack this one either. Whatever the Middle-Ghost tribe, it's not a big threat to us, such as normal arrows...)

He waited outside the range of arrows for a subsequent auga to arrive. We were going to take advantage of the weight of the Auga 500 and break through the fence all at once.

But his sense of smell caught the smell of smoke like a bonfire.

(Are you burning even fire? It wouldn't even be a fire arrow in this situation, would it? Or are you going to burn the city......)

He looked around.

And we found smoke rising from behind us.

Fire gauge! Once you pull or break through the front fence... from the wind direction, you should break through)

"The enemy has set the city on fire! What, this is all the city! Burning takes time. We're going in like this all at once! Hit the orgasms on the fence and push them down!

The Great Ghost Warriors respond to his order as "Ooh!". And by order of the manipulators (Tamer), nearly a hundred orgasms ran east on the main street.

The giant orgasms run out in a heavy footsteps called Dosindocin. The boulevard was home to not only the bodies of medium ghosts and orcs who collapsed under arrows, but also a large number of severely wounded who could not move, but the orgasms thrust on, crushing without any concern.

From the front, arrows are released one after the other, piercing at the leading orga. An orga with thick skins bleeds and becomes like a hare, yet its rate of advancement never slows.

Orvo was smiling when he saw how it was going.

But when the orgasms approached a distance of about thirty meters from the defensive fence, the orgasms running in the lead suddenly disappeared.

And the orgasms running behind them disappear one after the other.

Orvo can't grasp instantly what happened, and for a few moments, he flashes. But soon he realized it was a trap caused by a pitfall, and he was staring at the viewing table hatefully.

The boulevard was dug with deep pitfalls, and thick wooden planks were strewn there, disguised as dirt over it. Humans and horses had the strength to get through, but with a dozen orgasms weighing hundreds of kilograms, they were trying to fall.

Further beneath it was a pointed pile, with nearly twenty orgasms skewered.

Orvo bites at the sight, but the smoke momentum rising from his surroundings was so strong that he was forced to make a choice between moving forward or backward.

(If you go around the house, you won't be able to trace it, but there's probably a trap there, too. Should we retreat here once? Nevertheless, the fire goes around too fast......)

"Back off! Once out of the gate, we're out of town! Stand down sequentially!"

Nearly eight hundred large orgasms and great ghost tribes, even though they were ten meters wide, were hitting a single path, so no instructions were received by all the army inside. Fortunately, a warrior of the Great Haunted Clan of War, who was at the rear of the line, judging by the smoke around him and his voice from the front, begins to command his own retreat. And slowly, though, Orvo's orders were carried out, and the Great Ghost Warriors and the Augs gradually began to return to their original path.

The Great Ghost Warrior, who was in command at the rear of the line, looks like a veteran and runs east on the boulevard, wary of attacks from around him. But the further east it was, the thicker the smoke and the harder it was to keep my eyes open.

I just ran about 100m and he was suddenly taken off his leg. There was a thick rope about fifty centimeters high stretched out to give me the boulevard, and they took my feet off it.

He tried to raise his voice of warning, but an orga running right behind him with all his might shouted at him, bringing it down one ally after another like a chess knock on the signal.

Even the Great Ghost tribe, whose sturdiness was handled, couldn't stand the weight of a dozen people, and he was crushed to death.

Orvo had forgotten his usual calm and raised his voice of anger at the sudden cessation of the troops' feet.

"What are you doing! Hurry up or you'll burn to death!

Without knowing the situation, he shouts so, but just pushes each other and never proceeds.

He ordered a detour into the alley, and the Great Ghost Troops dispersed in narrow alleys just like the Middle Ghost.
