Ways to handle this little demon

There's no light in the room. Since the window was close and the candle hadn't been lit yet, as soon as Zhang Long Wei walked in with the youth in his arms, absolute darkness was the only thing that was awaiting them. The room was warm and the bed was big enough for two adult men to squeeze in. Not that Zhang Long Wei wanted to sleep with the youth. But to warm up the youth, he might have to lie down next to Wang Li Jie and give him some warmth just like last night.

Even so, Zhang Long Wei was not sure if he would even need to do like that tonight. Though Wang Li Jie was still shuddering from extreme cold, he still had his consciousness. Zhang Long Wei felt both relieved and disappointed. But, even he himself didn't know where that disappointment came from.

As soon as he finished putting the youth down on the thick mattress, Zhang Long Wei fumbled for a candle on a small table by the bedside. The room was absolutely quiet. Just a moment ago, Wang Li Jie kept groaning and whimpering. But now, the youth didn't even make a noise, making the already awkward atmosphere even more awkward. 

Zhang Long Wei had just finished lighting the candle and turned to look at the youth's condition only to meet with Wang Li Jie's intense gaze on himself. The youth was sitting on the bed whilst hugging his knees as he stared hard at his face. This way, Wang Li Jie gave such a pathetic and innocent impression. But Zhang Long Wei felt like the youth in front of himself had become even more alluring....as if Wang Li Jie was deliberately trying to tempt him.

Faced with such a daring gaze of the youth, Zhang Long Wei didn't even know how to react, especially when the youth was looking at him right into his eyes or...is it his face?

With this thought, Zhang Long Wei reached out to touch his face subconsciously only to make a grimace in the next second.

He almost forgot. There's still these injuries on his face from Li Qing's punches. But they were going to heal in some hours. So, Wang Li Jie was looking at him because of these ugly injuries. Or could it be that he was worried about him?

" Zian..." 

The youth's weak and fragile voice came out which Zhang Long Wei responded with an immediate " Mn?" The demon was expecting some words of concern from the youth about his injuries only to hear Wang Li Jie driving him out in the next second.

" You should go back. You still have to guard the village, don't you?"

As soon as Wang Li Jie finished saying this, he buried his head into his knees, giving such an impression of a pathetic kid. Zhang Long Wei was somewhat disappointed since the youth was driving him away. But he didn't show it on the surface. Walking over to bed, Zhang Long Wei sat next to the youth who had his head buried in his knees. Somehow, he suddenly had this very urge to pat the youth's head. But fortunately, Zhang Long Wei managed to restrain it.

"It's okay. I can stay a bit longer."

It seemed like the youth had already expected such an answer. Without even raising his head, Wang Li Jie perfunctorily nodded. Could it be that Wang Li Jie was being mad with him? This youth had been avoiding him all day. And, now that he was together with him to help, Wang Li Jie didn't even bother to spare him a glance.

" Are you mad at me?"

Zhang Long Wei didn't say for what the youth should be mad at him. But it seemed like Wang Li Jie automatically understood what Zhang Long Wei meant by that. His little master must be asking if he was mad at him for accidentally poison him with deadly ice blade.

" Yeah....but also no."

Still with his head buried in his knees, Wang Li Jie mumbled those words. Zhang Long Wei was surprised at first but then he gave a vague smile. So, the youth was really mad at him because he made him suffer this way. But also, Wang Li Jie couldn't fully be mad at him because he knew it was part of his fault too.

Wang Li Jie didn't say it clearly. But Zhang Long Wei had already understand it.

Shifting closer to the unresponsive youth, Zhang Long Wei sighed before saying.

" It's okay. You can be fully mad with me. I deserve it."

Even Zhang Long Wei himself couldn't believe he just said those words. He had changed a lot even before he realized it. He had become a bit soft-hearted. He knew how to say caring words. He knew how to worry about someone. But it was just so strange that this kind of his considerate side only showed up when he was with this youth. Maybe it's because Wang Li Jie was the closet person to him in this sect? If bickering, annoying each other or quarreling all the time did count as things close friends used to do, then he guessed they were closed....or is it?

" Mn"

Only after an eternity of silence, Wang Li Jie gave such a short answer which had Zhang Long Wei let out a muffled laughter. But seeing the youth's not giving him his usual response which would be a deadly glare, Zhang Long Wei stopped before turning serious. Looking carefully at the youth, the demon could see Wang Li Jie's legs and hands started trembling once again. 

"Let me inspect your sword wound first."

Placing his hand onto the youth's shoulder, Zhang Long Wei asked with concern. And his sharp eyes didn't fail to notice Wang Li Jie moving his head a bit and peaking him from between his knees.

In fact, Wang Li Jie was being nervous about it this whole time. According to what Zhang Long Wei said this morning, there might be a blue patch on his skin near the sword wound. Now that he didn't lose consciousness like yesterday, Wang Li Jie wanted to look at it by himself. But he was also anxious about that.

According to Zhang Long Wei's words, if they couldn't find the antidote as soon as possible, that blue skin patch would get bigger and bigger with time. It was only a second day, so his condition couldn't be that terrible. Even so, he found himself being anxious to look at it by himself.

" Sure."

It's not as if he could turn a blind eye to it either. In the past, Wang Li Jie had got many injuries in countless battles with demons, not to mention some were even fatal. Though this time was a bit different, for someone like him who had already endured, overcame and survived such fatal wounds, how bad could this one probably be?

With his trembling hands, Wang Li Jie took off both of his outer and inner robes, leaving only his thin trouser. And there, around the bandage of his sword wound, that blue skin and veins...it looked really frightening for Wang Li Jie to see it for the first time, especially when it was on his own body.

Though the youth was a bit shocked by the look of his own chest, Zhang Long Wei was a different story. In the demon's eyes, there was surprise...a pleasant surprise to be exact...because that blue patch of skin on the youth's chest....it got smaller. He was expecting to see a bigger blue patch tonight. But, instead, it got a lot smaller....visibly smaller as if the youth was already recovering.
