Ways to handle this little demon

Chapter 137 - Baiyun Sect

In fact, that disciple didn't mishear anything. He was right. Exchange disciples were actually coming to Jianyu Sect tomorrow morning. Unlike any other sect in imperial city, elders of Baiyun Sect held absolute authorities because most of this sect's elders were all big shots in the entire human realm.

The founder of Baiyun Sect, immortal Lin, was a sworn brother of emperor Ming. His wife was a younger sister of the emperor, so it wouldn't be wrong to say his daughter Lin Chan Juan was also an imperial princess. After the imperial family, their Lin family held the most supreme authority in the entire human realm.....so the fact like most disciples had greater authority than their own masters, didn't apply to this sect though.

The reason such a big sect bothered to send exchange disciples to Jianyu Sect was because of soul consuming curse. Even with the protection of "soul protector" talismans, the number of cursed patients in the capital didn't reduce that much. For a big sect like Baiyun, some of their disciples also started to get targeted by the curse. At this rate, things would only grow worse if they couldn't keep things under control as soon as possible.

One might wonder how the curse even had anything to do with sending exchange disciples to Jianyu Sect. Their main reason was to find out the source of soul consuming curse in emerald jade mountain.

The imperial city was too big and citizens who used this curse against each other were extremely wicked. It really was not an easy thing to find out what those wicked citizens did to curse other innocent ones.

But in emerald jade mountain, they saw a chance. All the inhabitants here were just naive and idiotic villagers. Here, it would be a lot easier to figure out culprits of the curse or what they did to make the curse effective. In other words, Baiyun sect elders wanted their disciples to find out the exact method or incantation to activate soul consuming curse.

Immortal Lin thought the reason Jianyu sect elders still couldn't find out such important things about the curse even in such a small sect territory, was because they were lacking in skilled disciples. But most of all, he thought it was due to Jianyu sect elders' careless management.

If it was in emerald jade mountain, Baiyun Sect had full confidence that their disciples would be able to dig everything out about the curse just in a short amount of time. And that's why they sent their disciples here, using the tradition of exchanging disciples as an excuse.

It's not like Jianyu Sect elders didn't know what those arrogant elders from Baiyun Sect thought of them. Deep inside, they knew everything. They knew how Baiyun Sect even thought that Jianyu Sect wasn't worthy of being one of the seven great sects in the human realm. But they only chose to turn a blind eye.

Not only Baiyun Sect members were all cocky and narcissistic, they also held such formidable authority in their hands with powerful young cultivators as disciples of theirs. It would lead them nowhere by bothering to deal with such arrogant bastards, so sect elders only chose to ignore it.

Since Baiyun Sect was in imperial city, it was thousands of miles away from emerald jade mountain. For exchange disciples to come here by riding their swords, it would undoubtedly take several days.

It was such a waste for both of their time and effort that, instead of letting their disciples go just like that, Baiyun sect elders planned to give them high-level transportation talismans. These kinds of talismans could transport any cultivators to any places thousands of miles away within seconds.

Three exchange disciples in total were coming to emerald jade mountain tomorrow. With those special talismans, they could even transport themselves right to snowy-light peak. But, according to the etiquette and to show Jianyu sect elders some respect, they were to await from the border of Tian Forest till head disciples of the sect came to escort them personally. After that, those exchange disciples were to ascend emerald jade mountain using mountain stairs instead of riding their swords and directly going up to the peak.

The number of mountain stairs was not that much....only two thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine in total. It really was not that many. If cultivators were to ascend the mountain riding their swords, it only took them a couple of minutes. But for those who had to ascend this mountain using stairs, it just took forever.

Though this might sounded crazy, most of the time, these mountain stairs were used by villagers rather than sect disciples and elders. Of course, most of them couldn't go to the peak of the mountain and stopped halfway. Not only the scenery around emerald jade mountain was beautiful to behold but this mountain was also rich in herbal plants and preys, so many villagers used these mountain stairs to find or hunt such things.

To ascend the mountain using thousands of stairs, it was not some easy challenge though. It's safe to say this etiquette was also one of the main reasons Jianyu Sect didn't get any exchange disciples every year.

But one couldn't say this etiquette was too much though....because any other young cultivators who wanted to become Jianyu sect disciples, had to use these stairs and ascend the mountain as well. Only by then, they were allowed to join the sect trial and could be chosen as official disciples of Jianyu Sect.

Even though exchange disciples were not Jianyu sect permanent disciples and would be only here for no more than three months, elders still made them go through such a challenge. It should be a good lesson for arrogant Baiyun sect disciples though.

But it could be considered lucky enough for those disciples even if they still have the chance to overcome this challenge because ...once tomorrow came and they arrived at Tian forest, gods of death should be awaiting them right there. Whether those disciples from Baiyun Sect would be able to survive or not, it was only up to Ming Zixin and He Jingyi.....
