World Of Warcraft: Altered Time

Chapter 9 - DuskWither Spire March 2, 7:57 P.M.

"You have that backward. You may leave now." Azul said still smiling. Before the Elf could rebuke him, his left hand went out grabbing the Rogue in stealth that circled him. Pulling him close, Azul's weapon pressed into the man's neck. "Ah, ah, ah." He pressed right against the throat by the juggler. "If you squirm you might cut yourself open. That would be quite a shame."

"Let him go!" A night elf yelled.

"Now, now calm down children. We can still be diplomatic about this." Azul watches those in front of him. His magic had long recovered enough for fighting. He was still dressed as a Paladin, however. This made the elves cautious. "You are no longer getting the option of packing up your gear. I will be tacking it. Your lives are yours. Now leave."

Dropping the young elf, Azul didnt bother to step back when the elf kicked up at him.

"A pity." Faster than any of them could see the Greatsword cut down into the elf's shoulder. "There we go. Only skin deep sort of."

Nocturne ensnared them with arcane magic. Arion fired several disrupter arrows causing the others to be dazed.

"What do you want?" The elf asked.

"I wanted you to leave earlier. Now two of you have to die now. What a shame." Azul brought the sword down and killed the man. With a burst of magic, he charged at the woman and snapped her neck. Looking to the others his voice came out cold. "Leave with your lives. No gear at all."

The elves looked at each other when they felt the spell subsided. Dashing to different directions they were gone in moments.

"Ahh, so much magic to make that look easy just now," Azul said sighing. Turning around he started to make a waypoint for traveling. "Two hours till this is ready. Let's look through the gear left behind. Might help with ways of dealing with the Dead Scar faster." Remembering now was a good time to tell them. "Remember to pay attention to your status. If not you might die from a poison or something."

"I will search around. Make sure no stragglers come back." Said Arion. He was gone like a bolt once again.

"Just the two of us again." Azul looked at Nocturne. "How bout that?"

"She was a priestess of Elune," Nocturne said trying to change the subject. "My great grandmother use to be one as well."

"Take all the time you need. I will head further on." Azul said as he started to search the camp and collecting everything. Standing in the center he found a few rituals had been tried but failed. The residual energy would be used as a forward camp now. "Another guard outpost should do just fine here." Outstretching his hands the build started.

(Malignated energy in the area. Converting to purposes for construction. Guard shack complete.)

(Night Elf male added.)

(Night Elf female added.)

(Rogue skills added.)

'Ks infuse the Night Elf ability Shadow Meld into me. I need to work on some flexible combat skills.' Feeling the rush right after, Azul needs to switch even more to melee to keep from wasting mana.

Once finished a few guards came out that would start hunting the monsters in the area. Walking back to Nocturne he saw she was still down in the dumps a little. Not wanting to bother he walked up and just stood close to her waiting. In 10 minutes she was ready to travel.

'

"We are heading to DuskWither Spire. You and Arion will mostly fight on the way understood?" Seeing her nod her head meekly they shot off. Meeting up with their other partner, they made a beeline straight for the Spire. Along the way, they came across a few members from the city that had awakened. As well as a party of Dranei that passed through the area. No doubt part of that previous Dranei party he assumed before leaving that for later.

"Taking the portal up was still the best way," Azul said. He didnt waste anytime as he charged at the Wraith in front. Before stepping through he had switched to a dagger in each hand. His clothing had changed to become limber like a Rogue's. Circling magic into the blade, he tore into its core and siphoned it.

"Arggh!" The wraith screamed before dissolving leaving behind spirit dust and fel energy.

"Mhm, doable but mediocre energy. But every bit counts as well." Azul looked at the other Wraiths and smiled. "You four stay and rest. I will proceed ahead."

"Very well," Nocturne said. She wanted to put up a fuss but thought better of it. She was tired as well as Arion.

"We will keep them both safe." The Dranei said togethor. The two had followed Azul after he saved them when they travelled earlier. It gave him the idea of having two of his own for help. He didnt let them know about the other Dranei he came across in the Dead Scar.

Climbing the spire he killed every Wraith he came across till the top. Seeing a Wretched moving abut he approached. "So are you having fun up here?" Azul smiled. His daggers hidden by his cloak.

"Who are you? This is my Spire! My land and mana. Leave!" The Wretched said. The eyes darting around looking for any enemies. "My Wraith pets will kill you!"

"So do you want me to leave first? Or tell you my name?" Azul voice was taunting. The more he fought as a Rogue, the more his personality seemed to deviate with a reckless attitude. Basically he was snarky. "What are you looking for? Not those Wraiths. They are all dead."

"You tell me your name! I am master of this place!" The Wretched stepped back to a small bedroll with a blanket bunched up. You are too weak till kill my servants. My pets are on there way now to kill you."

A few minutes went by. Azul just stood there looking around the area. walking slowly the Wretched kept flinching when he approached.

"So no help is coming. What to do with you?" Azul walked directly to the Wretched. In response, it walked closer to the edge. It took a while for Azul to learn the pattern of its movements. He baited it and maneuvered it to the edge.

"Ehh" the Wretched screamed before stopping itself from falling over. It turned back around to see Azul right in front of it. A book in his hand. The Wretched eyes looked at its sleeping bag. "Give back! That is mine!" It's clawed hand reached out to grab hold.

"Don't want to." Pushing the book into its c.h.e.s.t, he tipped it over. The Wretched grabbed hold around his wrist, its eyes never left the book. "We are going to play a game.. of sorts." Channeling a little magic, Azul kept it from falling and fed it to the creature. "So do you remember your name?"

"Give book back!"

"So is that a no?" Azul channeled a little more magic to it. This time the eyes turned less dull, and a look of slight recognition as well. "Do you know your name?"

"Give.. give my book back and I will tell you!"

"Fine you can hold one end, I will hold the other." Watching it grab hold, Azul continued. "Now speak." His voice gained a slight edge to it. "Name and what happened here."

"I have no name. I lost long ago. Back when dead things marched through. Killed everyone. I fought and lost." The wretched started to let go, its other arm tried and grab the book with both.

"Ah, ah, ah," Azul pushed it back with the book and grabbed the other arm. "None of that now." Seeing it still, squirm he bent it back over the edge. "Tell me about the defense not working. Even with the Burning Legion coming, their is no way this place should have failed so easily. Why did the spell defense fail?"

"Uhh, bec.. because... The others failed. The spell matrixes were not ready. No one fixed them. To lazy. Too stupid!" The Wretched started to become more clear-headed as Azul pumped small traces of light magic and nature magic. "We couldn't defend with no working platforms."

"Tch." Azul shook his head and pulled it back from the edge. Letting go of the book he turned away. "Bah incompetence leading to death. Should have guessed. How to find out who was involved?" As he walked forward the wind blew his cape to the side. Revealing his magical daggers to the Wretched. Seeing something on the top of where the Wretched slept he walked back to check it.

"Magic!" The Wretched said slowly stepping forward. 'I need his magic! It restores me. So strong I can become powerful again. Moch more powerful than before.' The wretched thoughts went in a single direction once Azul no longer fed it energy. "Give me Mana!" It screamed pouncing at him.

Jumping to the left, Azul kicked it in the back sending it stumbling forward. Feeling slight magic fluctuated he looked up. The markings started to glow. Looking down he could see the Wretched had magical lines glowing on its back. Checking back up the runes started to glow brighter.

"What strong magic. If the defenses didn't work what the heck is going on now?" Even more, intrigued, Azul prepared his daggers once he felt a sense of danger. The Wretched floated up in the air and spread its arms. Its eyes glowing in Fel power.

"You will make a great sacrifice. Such powerful magic. We want it!" The wretched body twisted and turned into a Wraith. A slight difference could be seen. It had legs and a weird sash around its waist. The sash had arcane symbols on them. "Little Blood Elf.. I will devour your magic to replace the children you killed."

"Oh, how nice. I think you will make a great addition to my cities reserves." Jumping forward Azul lunged with a dagger outstretched. The Wraith fired a Shadow Bolt. Ducking down, Azul tucked and rolled behind a pillar.

The Wraith moved around the corner preparing another Shadow Bolt. Sliding over the opposite side of the pillar its arm outstretched. It found nothing. "Where are you little elf?" Looking from side to side, it saw nothing. "Are you above!" Firing a Shadow Bolt in the air it saw nothing. No target or anything leading to a direction. "Where are you?"

Azul had slipped up top and Shadow Meld as he ran to the other side and dropped down. He was sneaking up right behind the Wraith. His magic condensed and pushed to low levels. When he was close he stabbed at the two sides the lungs would be.

"Schlk, schlk," the daggers found home inside. Pulling them up and out Azul ducked behind the pillar again.

"Raagghhh!" Screaming the Wraith pulled on more magic from the area. The symbols glowing brighter and hotter. It was trying to heal but couldn't. "What did you do to me!" Firing a Bolt at the pillar, a hole formed through it. "Arrghh!"

'Hmm, so that inscription was defintely prepared ahead of time. Put in before the attack. No way it could have been built into the place. Could it?' Azul thought's started to run wild with suspicion. He needed to get the book back as well as find out more from the... Wraith. "This thing looks nothing like a regular Wraith. Also a little more powerful. But that could just be from my little magic I pumped into it.' Grabbing onto the pillar, Azul climbed the side around following the Wraith. Right as it moved around the next pillar he made his move. Dropping down he moved to the side instead of the back of it.

"You cannot hide!" Firing another Shadow Bolt, the pillar side blew away. "Boom!" The Wraith used way more power than before. "Come hear my delicious meal!" Looking up it expected to be attacked from the top again. It only saw a small glimpse of movement before pain struck its side.

"Schlk, schlk," the daggers cut the right side before Azul pulled them to its back. "Rip," a trail of two lines toward the location of the spine. Squinting his eyes, he saw traces of flesh. The possession or whatever it was hadn't finished.

"You will die little elf!" The Wraith swung around with an increased speed. It's hand breaking through the top of the pillar sending more dust flying around. PLacing his daggers up, Azul hopped up carrying himself along with the strike. Landing at the edge, he rolled along the side before popping back up. The Wraith came over, hands glowing as he fired two Shadow Bolts.

"Hup," getting up and running around, Azul dodged both blows easily. He was getting quite the workout. "Ah, so fun. Come on can't you hit me. Well, can you chump?"

"Quit coming and I will!" The Wraith ran through the dust heading towards Azul's voice.

"Who is running?" Azul had turned back and jumped at the Wraith daggers outstretched in a pounce.

Eyes wide the Wraith did not expect this as he ran after him. With the momentum it put into the charge it couldn't stop that easily. Turning to the side it tried to at least getaway.

"Shlk, schlk," both daggers found home in its shoulder. With the charge, Azul slid all the way down and pulled out. With a spin, he turned and cut at the left leg.

"Argh!" The Wraith yelled as it leaned back to the side in pain. Its arms used to keep it from laying down. "You will pay for that!"

Azul after cutting the side spun back around and stabbed it in the back. "Schlk, schlk," the daggers caught the top area that was exposed. "Thud," kicking it forward he watched as it stumbled forward. Its bulky frame not falling down. Turning it fired a dark wave of Fel energy that pushed Azul all the way to the edge of the platform.

"Whew," Azul exhaled as his heel touched the edge. "that could have been really fun falling down to the bottom floor. I wonder if I would die?" Slightly wanting to test it, Azul almost jumped back but decided to do that another day. Running forward he threw one of the daggers as the Wraith stood up.

"Die!" A Shadow Bolt flying at the dagger Azul threw. It dispersed the attack and hit the Wraith in the c.h.e.s.t. "How.. how did that.." as it questioned what just happened Azul had arrived with the other dagger stabbing it in the heart.

Watching as the Wraith shrunk back to the Wretched. The book still glowing along with the runes. Azul watched as the Wretched still lived. Moving over, he placed the book in his inventory. Two things happened, the Wretched went still and the inception stopped glowing.

"Pat, pat, pa, pat," four footsteps started to come around the staircase. The two Dranei and Arion and Nocturne had arrived. Slightly more beat up than he left them.

"Huf,..huff are.. you .. ok?" Noctr5urne asked. The others looked more winded than her.

"Yeah, I am fine. What did you all do for the last few minutes?" Azul head was moving side to side. "You were all supposed to rest."

"We were. But then these weird Wraith's started to appear. They didn't do anything at first. But out of the blue, they started attacking us." The male Dranei said.

"Ah.. totally my fault most likely," Azul said. Waving there questions away, he looked around the top of the spire and started making inscriptions on the floor. "Just stay and rest. No attacks should be coming anymore."

30 minutes later, curiosity got the better of Nocturne. "What are you doing to the place?"

"I am taking the whole place!" Azul said as his hands outstretched taking control of the Arcane benefit in the air. Connecting with the Port Stone the whole place transported. It was now floating in the airspace around West Sanctum.

(DuskwWither Spire is now part of the city.)

(Breaking down ???? Completion 2%)

(Increase in Mana Production)

(Scanning Spire: Completion 3%)

(Increase in Aerial Defense)

(Aerial Soldiers awarded. 25 soldiers in waiting.)

(Aerial mount unlocked. Choose one to represent faction.)

"Hey does everyone here like Dragons or Hyppogriffs better?" Azul asked the others. 'Need to start building the aerial barracks. Better increase for the fighting and growth abilities.' Just like the magic started to swirl next to the spire.

"Eh how about no to Dragons around the base," Nocturne said sitting down exhausted. Arion was too tired to bend his knees to sit. "How about something that looks pleasant but fast and agile."

Azul stared at the woman and sighed. "Fine. There is a perfect choice for that then." Pointing at her, he made a symbol on her c.h.e.s.t with a badge. On the badge were two horses. One black and one white looking in opposite directions. The thing about the horses, they had wings "This is your new house. The house of the Pegasus. Or should it be Pegasi?" Shrugging his shoulders he went to change the options for the creature before locking it in place.

Increased agility, stamina, eyesight, and speed. He reduced the attack of the beasts but rose the defense for both physical and magical. No point in the attack being high, that was the job of the rider. The white wings had bolstered magic casting for the rider and the black wings boosted the riders recovery time. Azul then altered the reproduction abilities for the creatures. They were more bird-like in nature. For a first batch, they would lay 12 eggs with a rapid growth. Afterward, they would lay two or three for normal. The eggs were magic in nature so they would come out small before increasing in size. If the rider helped nurse the eggs the bond would become stronger between the two.

Putting restrictions on the creatures Azul noticed that it allowed for a return in points for other things. He restricted the riders to be Elves, Humans, and Dranei. Any other race wouldn't stand a chance on the creature. The creature would act violently and try to end the person's life.

"That will have to do." Finishing Azul watched as the riders arrived from a magic portal. Then he thought about it. There was need of a commander. Gathering the magic and points he started the creation for one. 'That Wretched was slightly different. I wonder what will happen when the breakdown is finished? No sense in worrying about it till its finished. Will need to leave in a few days anyway. But before I do, I need to make those Druids.'
