It's really easy to get a world record. All you really need to do is attempt something new and pay a bit of money. Even if your record is pathetic, as long as it's the first one that's been recorded it'll be considered as a world record.

There are even records for things such as most coconuts smashed around a person whilst blindfolded. (One guys lies on the ground surrounded by coconuts, whilst the blindfolded dude goes around smashing them; The current record is 48)

Even if your record is ever taken away, you can still claim to be a former world record owner.
