Chapter 1851 Five Colors of Yuan Dynasty

Chapter 1851 Five Colors of Yuan Dynasty
The red and green colorful lion ball pattern jade pot spring vase of the Yuan Dynasty was once published in the "Complete Collection of World Ceramics" published by Neon.

In addition, the Neon Nezu Art Museum also has a red and green colorful jade pot and spring vase with twigs and treasures.

This is the first "official" announcement that people must know about the red and green colored porcelain of the Yuan Dynasty.

Neon researchers think this way: "The independent variant lotus petals in the decoration have the style of the Yuan Dynasty, while the stems in the banana leaves are double-lined and not filled with the characteristics of the Ming Dynasty, so they belong to the works of the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. .”

Later, Mr. Geng Baochang, an expert on ancient ceramics from the Palace Museum in Shendu, after appraising the above-mentioned collections, determined that they should belong to the red and green colored wares produced in the Yuan Dynasty.

As it was determined that there were colorful porcelains in the Yuan Dynasty, people's understanding of the colorful porcelains in the Yuan Dynasty became more and more abundant.

For example, the shape of five colors in Yuan Dynasty is basically the same as that of blue and white porcelain in Yuan Dynasty.

There are mainly bowls, cups, plates, goblets, stationery utensils, porcelain sculptures of characters and animals, and jars and bottles of various styles.

The general shape is relatively regular, especially the large ones.

A typical representative of them is the jade pot and spring vase with colorful Tang flowers and lion patterns in Yuan Dynasty.

This bottle is also hidden in the neon. Its shape is the same as Yuan blue and white, with a large mouth, a thinner neck, a drooping abdomen, and a smaller abdominal diameter;
There are intervals between banana leaves, ancient coins, cloud heads and upturned lotus petals in the decoration.

The abdomen has a pattern of lions playing with balls, and there are many jewels painted in the middle, such as ivory, silver ingots, Fangsheng, coral and so on.

One of the masterpieces is a jade pot and spring vase with multicolored twigs and precious flowers. Unfortunately, this porcelain is also hidden in the neon.

Then there is the fetal glaze. The carcasses of the multicolored porcelains of the Yuan Dynasty that are seen so far, whether they are made by folk kilns or "official and civilian fired", are generally relatively white, firm and delicate;
There are also some folk kiln products, due to poor material selection, washing, and mud refining, the carcass is firm and delicate, and the carcass is white and gray or yellow.

The colors of five colors are applied not only on the shadow blue glaze, but also on the privy glaze, and on the ordinary white glaze, and the white glaze is the most colorful.

Among them are the five-color folk kiln porcelain fragments, which were found in Hangzhou, but unfortunately they are fragments.

Mr. Geng Baochang's book "Ming and Qing Porcelain Appraisal" cites the five-color folk kiln porcelain pieces of the Yuan Dynasty discovered in Hangzhou.

Its bluish-white glaze has a thick body, the bottom core is exposed, and there are obvious outline traces. The center is slightly raised like a navel, and the heart is painted with red and green water plants.

Besides painted painting, the colors of multicolored porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty were mostly red and green or red, green and yellow.

Among them, red is the main color, green is set off, and yellow is embellished;

Use red color to draw string patterns, or outline the outline of all patterns.

Among the decorations of multicolored porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty, red, yellow, and green colors are filled in the outline, making the picture rich and lively, full of national characteristics.

Among them, the most typical one is the five-color lion Tang grass pattern jar, which has many theme patterns on this five-color porcelain of the Yuan Dynasty.

There are many patterns and decorations on multicolored porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty. Animals include: dragon, phoenix, fish, unicorn, lion, mandarin duck, egret, peacock, oriole, etc.;

Plants include: peony, passionflower, algae, gardenia, lotus, camellia, chrysanthemum, ganoderma, pine, bamboo, plum, etc.;
Character categories include: civil servants, military generals, ladies, fairies, Tathagata, Avalokitesvara, gods, Taoists, and character stories, games for babies and children, etc.

The auxiliary decorations mainly include single and double strings, overturned lotus petals, sea water, banana leaves, eight treasures, wreaths, clouds, mats, triangles and three circles, rhombus grids, rice characters, etc.

One of the classics is definitely the Yuan Dynasty egg white glaze dark engraved multicolored golden bowl. The 2014 autumn auction in Hanhai can be said to be ground-breaking, and it was directly sold for 7475 million yuan.

This five-color flower-and-gold five-color bowl has an open mouth, a deep belly, and a short ring foot. There is no glaze in the bottom foot, and there is a water chestnut-shaped protrusion in the bottom center.

The body color is white, the glaze color is clear, and the inside and outside are full of glaze, which is a typical privy kiln.

The inner mouth of the bowl is decorated with a circle of honeysuckle patterns and dark patterns, and there is a Sanskrit character inside the bowl center with persimmon stalks;

There is an arc pattern along the outer edge of the bowl, and it is decorated with dark water ripples, and the lower part of the outer abdomen is decorated with lotus petal patterns and eight treasure patterns.

The decoration of this bowl is outlined by purple, blue, malachite green and enamel glaze. It is decorated with the technique of stacking flowers and standing powder, and then adds color to the outline, and inlays gold flakes in between to create a landscape town.

The overall impression of this bowl is that the color is quaint and elegant, the color and gold flakes are integrated, resplendent and luxurious.

The important point is that its craftsmanship is obviously influenced by the pottery and copper enamel inlays of the "Dashi Kiln" in the Western Regions, so it is unique and produces a strong artistic effect.

The last is the inscription. Most of the five-color porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty has no inscription.

The only known inscription is a bowl with twisted branches and flowers unearthed from the Yuan Tomb in Jisheng, Fuyu, Jitun in July 1992. It is painted with red double circles on the bottom of the foot, and it is inscribed in Chinese script "Zhi Zhengnian".

As mentioned before, the bowl is 6 cm high, 14.5 cm in diameter, and 5.2 cm in foot diameter;

The carcass is white and firm, and the glaze is warm and crystal clear;
The inner mouth is decorated with two continuous mat patterns, the inner wall is decorated with gardenia twigs and sawtooth leaves, and the middle is decorated with leaf veins;

The "rice" pattern is painted on the bottom of the flower for a circle, the center of the bowl is painted in a single circle, and a chrysanthemum with eight leaves is painted inside;

The outer wall of the bowl is painted with peonies, gourds and bird-shaped leaves.

The upper and lower sides of the flowers are decorated with string patterns, and the lower part of the wall is painted with a variety of Yanglian.

The foot wall is dotted with the word "rice", and the bottom foot is painted with red double circles, and the Chinese script "Zhi Zhengnian" is inscribed.

The body, glaze and shape of this bowl are consistent with the common blue and white porcelain of the Yuan Dynasty. The decorative colors are deep and dignified, the composition is rigorous, and the primary and secondary are coordinated, all showing the characteristics of the Yuan Dynasty.

It can be seen from this that multicolored porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty is very rare, and it can even be said to be very precious.

This Yuan Dynasty egg white glaze shufu gold-painted gold-painted ware is for the same reason, and it is very rare porcelain.

Rare things are more expensive, and less means expensive, so although these porcelains are not as beautiful as the colorful colors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, their value is indeed not low at all.

"Is there any more? I want as much of this kind of porcelain. I am also an insider. I have an antique shop, but the shop has not yet opened. This time I came out to find the source of goods. Of course, I don't make high imitations, as long as the real ones, Although your five-colored porcelain doesn’t look very good, it’s still an antique, and it’s just used to open a shop and decorate the facade.”

"Don't tell me, I really have a few!" The young boss laughed.

If Chen Wenzhe hadn't seen that Chen Wenzhe bought three pieces of gold ware all at once, and instead of haggling over the price because of the large quantity, he had given more money instead, how could he have brought out these obviously antique porcelains?

Although I don't think the porcelain in my hand is a treasure, but no matter how you look at it, it is an antique, a real antique, and now I don't have to worry about selling it, the problem is the price.

The young boss is still very clear about this. If he didn't want to sell at a high price, the batch of porcelain in his hand would have been sold out long ago.

Today is to see that Chen Wenzhe is a high-roller, otherwise he would not be so enthusiastic.
