Chapter 997 Artistic Sublimation

Chapter 997 Artistic Sublimation
After the glaze is prepared, it is time to start painting and decoration, and attention should be paid at this time.

There are many types of decorations on Qianlong pastel ware, including landscapes, stories of characters, flowers and birds, baby plays, ladies, flowers and fruits, flowers, and poems.

They are all based on the paintings of famous painters at that time, combined with Western painting techniques, dyed and rubbed, thick and light, water separation, fresh and bright, with a strong sense of three-dimensionality.

It is actually easier to do this, because they are all imitations. As long as the skills are good enough, no one can say that someone is not good at imitating.

Craftsmen in the Qing Dynasty imitated ancient people, and Chen Wenzhe would also imitate ancient people.

In this way, there is no need to imitate the decoration on the porcelain, but it is easier to make, and the effect is better after the finished product is produced.

They are all imitations, but Chen Wenzhe doesn't think he can't imitate those craftsmen of the Qing Dynasty.

Although the craftsmen in the palace are very powerful, they also have great limitations, such as the craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation, and some of them have not even received systematic education.

Compared with modern people, the biggest advantage of modern people is that they learn from others' strong points. They have wider knowledge and stand higher, that is to say, they have a bigger structure.

The ancients did not have this advantage, and even some people did not know how to read, so they could only make it repeatedly according to the teachings of their predecessors.

Of course, there are geniuses in any era, otherwise how did the porcelain created and fired in the past dynasties come from?

But such people, after all, are a minority.

However, when Chen Wenzhe said this, he did not mean that the court craftsmen at that time, especially the craftsmen in Jingzhen, were not good.

Even if they copied their predecessors, they copied them wonderfully.

Especially colored paintings, especially Qianlong pastel paintings, they are not completely copied predecessors, at most they copied some decorations and ancient painting techniques, but they did not copy pastel paintings.

Fen Cai was regarded as a creation in the Qing Dynasty, and even in the Qianlong Fen Cai period, its characteristics were very obvious.

Qianlong famille rose has the style of rich colors, various decoration methods, and rich adornment.

Qianlong official kiln powder enamel integrates various techniques of embossing, scratching, painting, consecration, colored glaze, pile sculpture, and gold painting.

For some ceramic objects, the lower part is colored ground, the belly is white or white ground consecrated, and the inside of the consecrated light is painted with pastel decorations.

Also, here is a special mention of clam light, not all kinds of porcelain have clam light.

So, why is clam light known to all antique lovers again?
It is because the porcelain with clam light is very expensive and precious.

There are "clam lights" handed down from generation to generation, because the utensils are old and some colored materials or glazes are combined with oxygen in the air for a long time to form a rainbow-like reflection effect.

In order to express this phenomenon, modern imitators soak the utensils in potassium permanganate solution, but the "clam light" produced in this way is still different from the handed down ones.

We all know that shells in the sea, turning in the sun, have a colorful halo, similar to the colors of a rainbow.

This kind of halo is the clam light, and the clam light mentioned in the ceramic appraisal refers specifically to the painted part of the overglaze porcelain.

So what kind of porcelain will form a clam light?
The first is lead-containing glazed porcelain and low-temperature lead-glazed porcelain, which are eroded by external physical and chemical substances and changes in themselves, which will produce a film on the surface of the porcelain.

Day after day, as the "porcelain age" increases, this membranous substance will slowly increase and thicken.

When it reaches a certain thickness, it will produce a "light" similar to the flickering inside the clam shell, so people call it "clam light".

According to the inheritance experience obtained by Chen Wenzhe, it takes roughly 150 years of "porcelain age" before the phenomenon of "clam light" will appear.

Especially the overglaze colors such as bucket color, pastel color and multicolored color. Not only can this dazzling "clam light" be seen on the colored glaze, sometimes even the tooth-white underglaze has this dazzling "clam light". The halo flickers.

Because this halo looks like jewels, some people also call it "clam pearl", or "clam jewel light".

It must be noted here that clam lights must be overglaze colors such as bucket colors, pastels and multicolored colors.

Moreover, pastels with a glass white background are more likely to appear clam light.

But not all ancient overglazes produce clam light.

Like the precipitation of flint red, it does not always appear, but the clam light on the overglaze porcelain is a strong evidence for identification.

Clam light is only an important feature for identifying porcelain, and the absence of clam light does not mean modern craftsmanship.

Because how many years of colored porcelain will have clam light, there are different opinions on this.

Some experts say that clams only last for 300 years, while others say 150 or 120 years.

Chen Wenzhe thinks the latter is more appropriate, that is, one hundred and twenty years old. Of course, most of the famille rose porcelains that are one hundred and fifty years old will have them.

It can be said that clam light is the patent of overglaze colored porcelain, and overglaze colored porcelain must be bucket-colored, pastel, and five-colored.

Among them, the famille roses and five colors of the three dynasties of the Qing Dynasty are the most sought after.

That's why clam light is valued by people, and Chen Wenzhe is very confident that qualified clam light will be produced.

To make old ones, you must have porcelain. After the previous practice, Chen Wenzhe finally produced several exquisite pieces.

Famous enamel Fushou pattern Shuanglong large plate, enamel carved porcelain salad plate with Bamanjin treasure map, enamel consecrated four seasons landscape and lid soup basin.

These three pieces are specially made, and the others are standard items.

However, even if it was an ordinary market, Chen Wenzhe couldn't handle it.

Of course, even if you want to make fine imitation famille rose porcelain, it is impossible.

In the collection market, Huaxia calligraphy and painting works have greatly appreciated in value, and Huaxia ancient porcelain has also greatly appreciated in value, and famille rose porcelain seems to be a combination of the characteristics of both.

It is not only porcelain itself, but also colorful traditional paintings, so the appreciation of famille rose porcelain is beyond doubt.

In the world of porcelain, famille rose is the only porcelain that can shake the dominance of blue and white.

Because of its rich colors, elegant and soft tones, and exquisite workmanship, famille rose has immediately become the new favorite of the Qing Dynasty royal family since it came out.

And until now, pastel is still favored by people.

There are many advantages of pastel, and the advantages are obvious, so it is not easy to make, especially the pattern.

The drawing of pastels generally needs to go through the processes of drawing, upgrading, drawing, taking pictures, drawing lines, coloring, filling, washing and dyeing.

Among them, from drawing to taking pictures, it is a stage of drawing with ink lines and carrying out creative ideas, such as painting porcelain to determine the decorative content and image composition.

The final draft of the official drawing is called "Shengtu", and the printing of the pattern drawn with thick ink from the porcelain is called "Making".

Then transfer the drawings printed with ink lines to the porcelain body to be formally drawn, that is, "picture", so that porcelain can be painted.

The drawing and coloring techniques of famille rose are relatively complicated and meticulous, such as painting, coloring, filling, washing, peeling, blowing, dot and other techniques.

The tools used include painting brushes, filling pens, washing pens, colored pens, Du pens, red gold pens, gold water pens, agate pens, pick-up pens and many other special pens.

In fact, these are basic skills, and what is really rare is the sublimation of art.
