Chapter 653 Building a Car Is Not Easy

On the way back to the company from Yang Yan's house, Jiang Hui didn't speak any more. He closed his eyes and sat in the back row. Pan Wei also sat in the driver's seat and drove silently without saying a word or asking a word.

The leader's bodyguard, driver, and secretary are all very unique jobs. These people must be the leader's confidantes, and they also know many of the leader's official and private affairs.

But if the mouth is not strict, it is destined to not be able to do this role well, and it will not last long.

Pan Weishi was a smart man who knew how to measure, and Jiang Hui was very reassuring about him, so naturally he didn't need to exhort him.

Back in the office, Jiang Hui went to take a shower first.

Jiang Hui's office space is large enough, it is equipped with a bedroom and a separate toilet, and the bathing facilities are also complete.

This is mainly because sometimes Jiang Hui has to rest at the company at noon.

Of course, if you change to another boss, it is not surprising to do some indescribable things in this kind of office, but Jiang Hui has not tried it yet.

"Mr. Jiang, Mr. Kato and the others have arrived in the meeting room," Liao Yun said when Jiang Hui returned to the office after washing up.

"Okay, let's go there."

Today is a technical evaluation meeting inside Brilliant Automobile, mainly to confirm the 1:1 clay model and judge whether it is possible to start making prototypes.

When developing a car, once it reaches the trial production of the prototype, it is considered to have entered a new stage of spending money. Of course, the prototypes are all made of temporary molds. When the mass production molds are opened, the money is more like flowing water. Hurry up and stay.

I don’t know who said a word in later generations, if you don’t prepare 200 billion, don’t enter the auto industry easily, or you won’t be able to afford it.

Although it is still in 2007, it is not necessary to spend 200 billion yuan to develop a model, but considering the factory construction, it will cost more than [-] billion yuan, so it is difficult for Guanghui Automobile to mass produce it.

In his previous life, Jiang Hui had a college friend who majored in vehicle engineering. After graduation, he went to a car factory.

When the two of them were chatting once, they received the process of car development. What impressed Jiang Hui was that when he said that during the early development of a new model, it cost 600 million yuan to import a prototype car from abroad.

This classmate is in a joint venture company, which mainly produces 10,000+ cars, that is, a car that can be mass-produced to sell for 10,000+ and still earn money. Buying a prototype car from a foreign joint venture's research institute is actually worth five 600 million, people who don't know the situation think that the other party's quotation has an extra zero.

In fact, after learning more about it later, Liu understood why the cost of what kind of car is so high.

The development of a model requires the production of different prototypes in multiple stages, and each time a prototype is produced, there are as many as ten or twenty units, and as few as a few.

You know, basically more than [-]% of the parts of a car need tooling to be produced.

Tooling, that is, process equipment: refers to the general term for various tools used in the manufacturing process.Including tools/fixtures/molds/measuring tools/checking tools/auxiliary tools/fitter tools/positioning tools, etc.

Tooling is its general abbreviation.

Tooling can be divided into special-purpose and general-purpose. The general-purpose ones are okay and have little impact on the cost of the prototype, but the special-purpose ones are troublesome.

Among them, the mold for producing parts is the most representative special tooling.

What is the mold for?

Various molds and tools used in industrial production for injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, die-casting or forging forming, smelting, stamping and other methods to obtain the required products are molds.

In short, a mold is a tool used to make shaped objects. This tool is composed of various parts, and different molds are composed of different parts.

It mainly realizes the processing of the shape of the article through the change of the physical state of the formed material.Known as the "Mother of Industry".

As far as the car doors, hoods, tailgates, instrument panels, interior plastic parts and other parts you see are all processed through molds.

For example, bumper molds and engine hood molds, if they are mass-produced parts, they are all "iron bumps" weighing more than ten tons at every turn. Many of the materials used for the mold cores inside are imported.

As recently as 2007, almost half of the important molds of the Tianchao joint venture were imported from abroad, and there were 80 million sets at every turn.

Parts like the engine cover generally require four sets of molds: blanking die, drawing die, shaping die and trimming die. After four processes, a roll of steel plate can be turned into individual parts.

Judging from the initial quotation from the island country Ogiwara Mold, which is controlled by Guanghui Group, to Guanghui Automobile, the mass production mold for the hood alone will cost more than 600 million.

This is just a hood. The mold cost of the whole car is estimated to be more than one billion or even more.

Of course, with the rapid development of domestic mold technology, after ten years, the price of molds will have to be cut by at least half, and maybe more.

Although when the prototype is produced, the mold will definitely not be opened according to the requirements of mass production, but the price is not cheap even for a simple mold.

A mass-produced model of 100 million, and its simple trial-manufacturing model, can cost more than [-], or even more.

Only a few parts are made at a time, and the cost of one hundred thousand yuan is allocated to these few parts, and the apportionment cost of the mold alone exceeds 1 yuan.

Of course, it is not necessary to remake simple molds every time each sample is trial-manufactured, only when there are changes every time.

So, in fact, for each simple mold, there will be about forty or fifty parts to share.

Even so, the 10,000+ is apportioned to forty or fifty parts, and the apportionment of each part will cost two to three thousand yuan.

And the mass production price of such a part may only cost 60 yuan.

The mass production costs 60 yuan, and the sample costs 3000 yuan, which is why the cost of a 10,000+ economical car is as high as 600 million yuan.

In short, all in all, it means that the development of a car is actually very expensive, especially the forward research and development, let alone whether you can, even if you can, you have to have money.

If it is reverse development and copying the models of other manufacturers, the number and number of trial production of prototypes can be greatly reduced, which not only saves time, but also saves a lot of development costs.

This is why many emerging independent brands will adopt reverse development.

According to Jiang Hui's arrangement, Brilliant Motors has also taken a trick now. It is carrying out reverse development based on the Land Rover model, so the development progress is relatively fast.

However, the necessary trial production is still indispensable.

In addition, Jiang Hui did not completely copy any model from Sang's development team, but just borrowed some chassis design and car body skeleton design from others. In terms of appearance, he still needs to correct it by himself.

After all, with Jiang Hui as his gold finger, the appearance is the easiest place for Guanghui Automobile to highlight its advantages.
