A Failure's hopeful Journey

You Xi Wang and his group were headed towards Pro-Code Headquarters. Morgan Stoinis was sitting in the back with You Xi Wang and Stella was riding shotgun while Clive drove the car. Clive was a cab driver and was hired by You Liangxin when boarded his cab and liked Clive's temperament. Morgan Stoinis fetched You Xi Wang with a file summarizing the condition of the said company. You Xi Wang glimpsed through the file in silence. It will take them half an hour to reach their destination. When he was done, he spoke with a soft smile. 

"In the meeting, no matter how rashly old man Shark behaves, you all are not to retort at all." his words made Stella feel confused. Others were, all the same. They were all aware of the relations between their two companies and the past incidents of You Liangxin being humiliated by the owner of Pro-Code. They could not understand why You Xi Wang did not want to defend himself.

Two mag-levs of TianLong Technologies were moving through the traffic at fast speeds. Soon they reached in front of a building, which was covered in glass on the outside, looking like a fragile piece of art. On top of the building, a sign made up by lights said, PRO-CODE. 

You Xi Wang got down from his vehicle with Stella on his right and Morgan Stoinis on his left. He took a deep breath and walked up to the entrance. His strides were calm and his eyes were calm. Stella and Morgan exchanged a glance. They nodded to each other and followed You Xi Wang to enter the building. They approved of his attitude. The juniors followed inside.

You Xi Wang stopped in front of the security guards to let them perform a check on him and then entered the company. He was greeted with a desolate reception area. He looked towards Stella, who went over to the reception table and asked the lady sitting there in boredom, "Excuse me, can you tell your CEO, Mr. Robin Fisher, that CEO of TianLong Tech is here for the meeting?"

The woman sat up straight when she heard her voice. She used the device and made a call inside, and the reply she got made her give Stella a wry smile. 

She said, "Madam, they ask you to wait in the lobby."

Stella was enraged as she knew that the CEO of this company was deliberately making it hard for them. She wanted to lash out at the receptionist but she knew it was not her fault so just kept it inside. Stella nodded and turned towards the group and whispered something in You Xi Wang's ear. The latter chuckled and led everyone towards the lobby.

They took seats on the couch and waited in silence. You Xi Wang closed his eyes and started meditation. He entered a deep state when Stella woke him up. 

"Boss, it is time to go. They have called us inside," she said in a soft voice.

He used nodded and stood up to follow them, he observed his watch/Holo-phone. It has been an hour since they came here. He was amused by the behavior of this Oldman Shark. They all entered the elevator to go to the top floor for the meeting. They were greeted by a forty-something looking man in a navy blue shirt and steel grey trousers.

He came forward, extended his hand towards Morgan, and said, "Welcome, I am Kreiser Finch, General Manager in this office. Apologies for the wait."

Morgan shook his hand and said, "I am Morgan Stoinis, an executive for Tianlong Tech. We understand, shall we go now? It is already late."

Kreiser Finch nodded and led them to the conference room. He noticed when he saw You Xi Wang among the people but ignored him thinking he was out for a field trip with his grandfather. He entered the conference room and gestured Morgan Stoinis to the chair for the representative head of the visiting group.

Morgan turned to You Xi Wang, and the latter was busy scanning the people from Pro-Code's side. He did not find the man he was looking for but saw a pretty girl as old as his sister sitting to the left of the CEO. He looked at her and said, "Miss, may I know where is your grandfather, Mr. Robin Fisher?"

His question made a blonde-haired man sitting on the right of the CEO frown as he said, "Does Tianlong Tech think of our office as a field trip for teens? Who let this kid in?" his voice was calm. 

Stella stepped forward and said, "Mr. Carl Herald, allow me to make the introductions. This is Mr. You Xi Wang, CEO of Tianlong Technologies" then she turned to face You Xi Wang and respectfully said, "Boss, this is the Chief Programmer of Pro-Code, Mr. Carl Herald." her words shocked the whole room. Stella carried on to make introductions. Just when she was about to tell him the identity of the pretty girl. 

The girl stood up and in a soft voice said, "Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Petra Fisher, Managing Director of Pro-Code and as you have already guessed, granddaughter of Mr. Robin Fisher."

You Xi Wang nodded with an amiable small smile. Just when he was about to repeat his question and old voice called him out, "You are that brat, Liangxin's son?"

You Xi Wang turned and nodded to the grey-haired old man who just walked into the room. He was wearing a gray shirt and a pair of jeans, matched with the gray sneakers. He went around the table and sat down on his chair. 

He did not wait for any opening pitches from You Xi Wang and said, "I thought someone capable would have taken over the lead in your company but turns out it was just you, a brat wet behind his ears."

You Xi Wang only smiled and sat down on the chair opposite the old man without breaking eye contact. He waited for him to continue.

The old man continued, "Your father was really incompetent. I don't understand why will he not pursue his career as a tech developer but become a businessman. Do you know why I disliked him that much? It was because he was too optimistic, too proud. If he would work for me. He might still be alive. But not only did he reject my offer, but he also had to start his own company and compete against us. What a pity, such a good engineer with such a trash attitude."

He took a deep breath and continued, "They say like father, like son. You must have inherited his attitude, right? Your mother looked was the reason behind all this. I despise that witch. She enchanted Liangxin into giving up his skills. Humph and to think Liangxin gave up all his potential for a wealthy woman. Trashy couple. Anyway, I have a proposition to make. How about you merge your company with mine, you take 49 while I take 51% share?"

The room fell silent nobody from Tianlong expected this old man to speak like this, You Xi Wang stood up and suddenly let out a smile.
