Angel

Chapter 4

Meeting ④

“Excuse me, where are you going to take him?”

Suddenly hearing that voice, Angel snapped back to his senses.

“Where… I was taking him to our office, as you can see?”

The moment that man said so, the guy with amber eyes took Angel’s arm and pulls him towards himself to protect him.

“No. He already works at our shop.”

—What?

Almost at the same time Angel lifted his gaze in amazement, the other man raised his voice shouting.

“What are you talking about? This guy said he was getting customers here without paying for the place.”

“He doesn’t have to pay since he’s working from home. I’m sure he’s already paying the monthly rent.”

Unlike the time when he just came and was out of breath, Amber-eyes’ voice was strangely calm and ghastly.

Looking up at him stealthily, Angel saw his eyes shining a golden light while reflecting the traffic lights.

Black pupils floating in the middle of two bright irises looked sharply at the man in front.

They were chilling, eerie and alluring.

The arrogant man, too, felt frightened and backed away.

“Wow, I see. I can’t complain since he’s already helping at that store.”

The man quickly threw out his words, and left in a hurry.

Following the man’s back until it was out of sight, Amber-eyes turned to look at Angel, and showed him a friendly smile.

His eyes were no longer glowing golden.

“That’s dangerous. It’s not safe for someone like you to be around here at night, right? You should go back early…”

“What are you talking about?”

Angel cut him off only to repeat what he just said.

“It’s dangerous, so I should go back early? It seems that the work was just going to be decided, but thank you for the trouble.”

Hearing Angel’s words, the amber eyes stared at him, yellow and gold, scarlet and bronze mixed in, as they wavered.

—Oh, again…

I almost felt sucked into the whirlpool of those strange colored eyes.

“Such a beautiful eye color.”

“…Eh?”

He uttered the first words that came to mind.

Then, for some reason, his face quickly heated up.

“Were you really looking for a customer here?”

“Yes. That’s why I thought I’d go with that man since he said he would provide me good working conditions, but you got in the way.”

As he said so, Angel frowned in annoyance.

“But do you know what would happen if you follow the Mafia?”

“That man told me that I could get better guests.”

When I retorted, his amber eyes reflected slightly the anger brewing inside.

“A good customer, do you want to experience for yourself what his understanding of a good customer is? You might be imprisoned for the rest of your life by a wealthy pervert without any chance of escape, they might even kill you and sell your organs once you’re no longer of any use.”

After saying that, he paused and heaved a light breath.
