193. Extra Chapter 3 The Soul of Bo Yu’s Stans

“I know I will face more condemnations after the play is on. They might detest me.” Bo Yu lower his head. A mixed feeling engulfs him, “But the script and the crew are awesome. I can’t refuse it just because of something that doesn’t happen. Moreover, I haven’t received a job that I like for a long time.”

Song Shilin is speechless. He cares for Bo Yu, ‘If he insists, I won’t stop him.’

Song Shilin pinches Bo Yu’s jaw and gives him a kiss, “Is it a movie or a TV play?”

“A TV play with 13 episodes.” It’s been a long time for Bo Yu to star in TV series. After he reaped the laurel and had a baby a few years ago, he took a long break at home. These two years is a gap. He planned to return to his work after he recovered. However, he couldn’t reach out to outstanding scripts, so he focused on movies.

It’s great to shoot movies. At least, a movie needs less time to produce. Its crew don’t have to worry that the TV station bought by them will delay its air date because of the increasing subscription rate.

Bo Yu hasn’t starred in any TV play since he finished shooting the Prince. He can’t wait to start the work.

However, Song Shilin who was about to backtrack narrows his eyes in the next second.

He is outraged. Wrath engulfs him.

Bo Yu is imagining his delighted life after joining the crew, but he senses dangers in the next moment. Before he can leave, Song Shilin’s voice flows into his ears, “Well, you’ll have a sex scene with a guy in this play.”

Bo Yu smiles awkwardly, “The director said he would find a stand-in. I don’t have to act by myself. I only need to show my back.”

Song Shilin’s countenance softens after he hears that, “How long will it take?”

Bo Yu replies casually, “About two months or less. The filming site is not far away from home. I only need to be on a business trip for a week when the play needs to be shot on location afterwards.”

Song Shilin is unpleasant about Bo Yu’s answer. He’s even unwilling to let his lover take this job. However, he doesn’t show his disapproval for saving Bo Yu’s face.

“When will you start the job?”

Bo Yu responds, “The day after tomorrow. They finally picked the actor today. We should have started shooting a week ago, but they didn’t choose another male lead. That’s why it delays.”

Song Shilin becomes mute.

Bo Yu now is sensitive to Song Shilin’s emotional changes. Noticing that, he guesses that Song Shilin gets cross, so he’s bewildered.

However, Bo Yu doesn’t realize that the man just doesn’t get used to the days when Bo Yu goes to work for Bo Yu has been staying at home for a long time. In fact, Bo Yu will soon understand that Song Shilin doesn’t overreact.

Little Candy who has never left Bo Yu can’t accept his daddy to go out for work without him.

After Little Candy receives the news that Bo Yu will be out for work the day after tomorrow. ‘Daddy won’t accompany me for a whole day!’ He chokes up and crawls around the living room. No matter what Bo Yu speaks to him, the little boy refuses to talk.

Little Candy is furious.

For him, Song Shilin is never a good choice to share the bed, and Bo Yu can’t keep him company all day. Therefore, the little boy rushes over to Little Watermelon with his storybook every night.

Little Watermelon is almost seven. He is in the second grade. Although he doesn’t know all characters, he can read stories for his brother.

Noticing that, Bo Yu peeps at his two sons before going to bed if he has time. He doesn’t give up this little hobby until Song Shilin forbids him to do so.

While having fruits, Bo Yu finds that Little Candy pouts and crawls between the sofa and the end table. The man can’t help but burst out laughing, “Why not have some food? Why do you run around over there?”

Kids will be worn out. Little Candy is too exhausted to move an inch, gasping, “Daddy, I wanna… work.”

The toddler utters clear words one by one, which is adorable.

Bo Yu steps over to thrust a piece of orange into Little Candy’s mouth, “You’re too young for work. Stay at home. I’ll watch cartoon with you at night, okay?”

The boy shakes his head stubbornly. Watching cartoon with daddy can’t stop Little Candy from following Bo Yu to work. The kid speaks in a crispy tone, “Daddy, I will go… with you.”

Bo Yu giggles, “Just wait for me at home. Deal?”

A cracking sound is heard. The door is open.

Song Shilin in a business suit steps in. He carries a child’s backpack which doesn’t match his clothes.

Little Watermelon, wearing a school uniform, walks in with a little water bottle. He’s only seven years old. The boy’s no longer chubby. He grows thinner and taller, “Daddy, I’m home.”

Bo Yu stands up to give Song Shilin’s cheek a peck. He then kisses Little Watermelon on the face, “Why are you so late today?”

Little Watermelon has grown up. He doesn’t ask Bo Yu to kiss him as before. The boy even becomes unwilling to be kissed by others. He sheepishly wipes his face and then sits on the sofa, “The heavy traffic jam stopped us, so we’re late.”

Song Shilin gazes at Little Candy who lies on the stomach and is reluctant to get up, frowning, “What are you doing?”

The little boy is afraid of his father. He dares to make a scene before Bo Yu, but will never act cute before Song Shilin. Noticing that his father gets impatient, Little Candy jumps to his feet and dusts himself off although there’s nothing on his clothes.

Song Shilin stops frowning at once. Annoyance in his eyes vanishes.

Little Candy pivots before the man fawningly, “I’m clean, fa… father.”

However, he staggers and collapses onto Bo Yu’s laps.

Bo Yu scoops the dizzy boy up helplessly, “What are you doing?”

Little Watermelon finds more favors with his parents because his younger brother is mischievous, edacious and pouty. However, Bo Yu and Song Shilin never ignores Little Candy. Their younger son holds Bo Yu’s neck, fawning like what his brother used to do, “Daddy, can you take… take me with you? Candy won’t be annoying.”

Bo Yu speaks before the boy rejects, “Stay at home. I will come back every night. If I don’t, your father will accompany you. No worries.”

Hearing Bo Yu mentioned Song Shilin, Little Candy is no longer aggrieved. Pouting, he cries loudly because of fear, “No, no. I’ll be with you, daddy.”

Little Watermelon approaches Bo Yu. He stares up at his daddy. A trace of depression emerges in his dark and composed eyes, “Where will you go, daddy?”

Bo Yu is helpless, ‘I haven’t handled Little Candy, and now his brother comes.’

Song Shilin looks on with arms folded. Bo Yu decisively thrusts Little Candy in Song Shilin’s arms. After a while, the crybaby finds he is in Song Shilin’s arms. He stops crying, pouting. The boy then burps.

Little Candy is afraid of Song Shilin in the family.

The man holds the boy in arms impassively, “Why do you stop crying?”

Little Candy answers aggrievedly, “Father, I… I’m not crying.”

Bo Yu turns around helplessly. He has a new understanding of how the boy plays the bully, “Little Watermelon, I work in the Hua City. If there’s nothing else, I’ll come back. You can see me after school.”

Little Watermelon doesn’t believe Bo Yu’s words, ‘If there’s something else, I can’t see daddy.’ Therefore, the boy doesn’t want to nod. He pulls Bo Yu’s clothes, stopping the man from leaving. “I’ll listen to you and go to school. Wait for me at home, okay?”

“I wanna go out. I think you’ll agree.” Bo Yu mops at Little Watermelon’s brows, “Okay?”

The boy is sensitive and gentle, at least before his family, “All right, but you should come home every night. I wanna see you.”

Bo Yu covers his face, ‘He’s so charming when saying that. My son’s only seven years old.’

‘I must watch too many soap operas.’

It’s easier to handle Little Candy’s unreasonable behaviors after Bo Yu deals with Little Watermelon. The man promises to bring his younger son a box of chocolate. The little boy then reluctantly consents.

Bo Yu gets dressed in the next morning. He fixes his hair and becomes a dashing man. After a while, he finally chooses a white casual suit. The man then leaves.

Even he has been staying at home for months, Bo Yu will dress in a stunning suit every time when he is out.

He aims to be a trendy even if he can’t advertise his garments.
