Collin's Otherworld Adventure

Chapter 55 - Gale, The Wood Hero

Bewildered I ask.

"what do you mean under arrest?"

The one with the magic knight's uniform comes to front and responds.

"if you attempt to resist the arrest, we will use full force to subdue you."

I ask.

"alright, and what about my friends are they free to go?"

he replies.

"yes, the lizard and the elf are free to go."

"hey Gresnor, take them to your tribe and wait for me there until I sort this out."

Gresnor asks.

"are you sure Collin?"

I reply.

"yeah don't worry about it, I know I'm innocent."

I then look at my dad and say.

"dad, you're going to have to believe me that I'm innocent in all of this, I did not kill Rosie."

he doesn't respond and only stares at me in silence, I then turn back to the guy with the magic knight's uniform, and ask confused.

"so only the elf and lizardman, what about Klein?"

"since he is under your control, he is not free to go. he will be immidiately executed, since there is no laws in arresting monsters."

he takes out a syringe filled with the green liquid, that the cult of Mauri used when I was their captive, he carefully injects it into me, Klein looks at me and says in anger.

"Collin I'm sorry but I can't stand for this, I will put a stop to this, so whatever happens you run."

the guy in the magic knight's uniform takes notice to the comment and says to the gaurds.

"stop that thing before it does anything."

they all reply in unison.

"yes sir, Gale."

I look back to Klein and as I see him transforming, I push away Gale and start running, Gresnor and Ellena also follow me, I then hear Gale shout.

"Branch entanglement!"

"shit, I can't use my magic to break free from this."

Gale walks up to us and says.

"let me introduce myself, I'm Gale the wood hero, or that is what everyone has decided to call me."

I think to myself.

"damn, it just had to be someone with the Hero's Blessing."

He then continues as he looks at me.

"don't you worry Collin, those gaurds will take good care of the creature that poses as a human."

after he says that, we hear horrified screams, as they run away from Klein who is in werewolf form, Gale looks at Klein astonished and says.

"well I'll be damned, werewolves actually exist."

"Collin, you are a very interesting individual, not only did you managed to find a werewolf but you tamed him under you spell."

Klein howls as he finished injuring all the gaurds that were running away, and then he turns his attention towards us, Gale looks at me and says.

"Collin, put a stop to this, if it keeps going your charges will keep adding and you will serve more time in prison."

I reply.

"you guys made him angry, there is nothing more I can do about it."

Gale chuckles and says.

"well I guess I'll see if I'm strong enough to take on a werewolf."

Klein charges towards and Gale chants.

"wooden armor."

thick wood starts to cover every part of Gale's body, while that is happening Klein completely ignores him and starts breaking apart the branches and the tree that has us entangled, we are now free from the branches, I then turn to Gresnor and Ellana and yell.

"run!"

Gale also turns and shouts.

"oh no you don't!"

but before he got to say anything else, Klein begins to attack Gale, after that Klein gives me a look like if he was saying.

"get out of here."

I then follow both of them, and we finally escape to the outside of Arce, and it seemed like the gaurds were ignoring us, because they were all heading towards the direction of where Klein and

Gale are fighting, and once we entered dead pass forest Gresnor asks me out of breath.

"what the hell happened back there?"

I reply.

"I'm not sure, but apparently, I'm accused of murder, and it seems like I've been labeled a traitor too."

Ellena chimes in.

"that's no good."

Gresnor asks.

"why?"

she replies.

"because the laws of humans and elves are very similar, and if Collin gets convicted of being a traitor, he will most likely be sent to an orcish prison, and nobody wants to spend their time there."

I then say to Gresnor.

"yeah, and since Orcs have not oblished slavery, they have built an industry of receiving prisoners and usually it's those who are covicted of being a traitor from every race, and they use those prisoners for free labor, or in some cases sell them to slave owners."

Gresnor asks.

"damn that sucks, so does that mean you can never return home?"

I sigh in fustration and respond.

"yeah."

I pause and continue.

"you've been a good friend to me, and I think you should return home now, while you still can, don't let me drag you down with me."

he replies.

"no I'm staying."

I sigh and reply.

"thank you buddy, but if for some reason I get captured, I'm going to need someone I trust, on the outside to help me out, so I think it'll be better

to split up for now."

he responds.

"okay if you really think that's best, I'll wait it out at my home."

we say our goodbyes and he leaves, I then turn to Ellena and said.

"if you want to know what happened at the fort I'll tell you."

baffled on what I said, she asks.

"what, but I thought you already told me what happened?"

I reply.

"well it wasn't a complete lie, there were monsters in that fort, but not the kind you are thinking of."

she asks.

"what kind?"

I respond in a serious matter.

"vampires."

she chuckles and asks unsure of what I said.

"you don't expect me to believe that right?"

I reply with a question.

"when they sent you to investigate the fort, did they tell you why, you were going into the human region?"

Ellena responds.

"they thought there was something dangerous lurking in that fort, and it seemed like they had some suspicions on what it was, but weren't one hundred percent sure on what."

I respond.

"well there you go, tell them it was vampires and it will most likely comfirm their suspicions about the fort."

Ellena takes a moment to think and then says to me.

"come with me back to my kingdom, and if you tell them exactly what you told me, I can provide you protection."

I then ask.

"elves and humans don't get along anymore, so tell me why would they do that for me?"

she replies.

"just trust me on this."

I reply.

"if you really want me to trust you on this, then please tell me."

she takes a couple of deep breaths and responds.

"fine I'll tell you why...you see, my dad is a king of the Riswa kingdom."

I then ask suspiciously.

"so that would make you a princess right?"

she replies confidently.

"of course, and since you are willing to cooperate, I can convince my father to give you a place to stay in our kingdom."

I ignore that part and then ask.

"so if you are royalty, that means you can fly right?"

she gives me a stink look and replies.

"yes I can fly, and before you ask, no I can't fly both of us over there from here."

I respond.

"so I guess we are walking there right?"

she replies.

"yeah once we get to the ocean, I'll fly us there."

and with that we begin to make our way back to desert, with a new goal in mind.
