Dead's Requiem

The white van Ernst Haeckel on was standing on was now painted with black blood. In a short time that he was able to take a breather, he jumped down the van and ran towards his motorcycle.

When his past weapons were still usable, he was able to kill many zombies. He attacked recklessly because he knew that Greta had his back. Any hostile attacking his back would immediately be shot down by the artificial intelligence. Now, he had to be careful not to be attacked from behind. Even though his suit was almost impenetrable, his head was defenseless.

The smell of corpses wafted trough the air although he was already accustomed to it. All around where him was a sea of wild zombies who are now dead. He took out a cigarette that was given to him by a friend of Okabe and lit it up.

(This is going to take a long time.) Haeckel puffed smoke out. (I did not even level up but at least my coins are slowly accumulating. Anyway, I could now buy the Art of Muay Thai. Compared to other martial arts, Muay Thai is the best martial art in terms of attacking without weapons.)

"Nope, meow." Merda appeared and sat on Haeckel's shoulder.

(I should look for a resting place first.) He went to his motorcycle and rode away from the place. Behind him were piles of dead zombies swimming in their blood.

The sun was already setting and he was already feeling tired. Haeckel found another gas station with restaurants just like Okabe's place. There was a convenience store, ramen restaurants and many other food stalls. However, the place had no signs of any life.

Haeckel proceeded lightly with both of his swords on his hands. He was moving onto a convenience store where he could possibly take a light snack before exploring the place further. He knocked on the glass door to check if there was something inside before coming inside when there were none.

"Niten." One of the katanas blazed into life. He used the light of the blade to walk through the dark convenience store. There were no people inside nor any sign that this place had been looted. He turned off the light from the blade, grabbed some food, went inside the storage area, ate and went to sleep.

The next morning, he found himself in deep trouble. On the Nagasaki Highway, was a massive horde of zombies on the highway, numbering in the thousands. He immediately went back inside the store, fearing that he may attract the horde.

(Where are they going?) Haeckel observed and waited for five more minutes but the number of zombies were too much. The numbers could probably reach 20,000 Coincidentally, they were also going in the direction of where Haeckel was about to go.

(I should probably look for a detour.) He opened the map Okabe gave him and looked at it for a long time. (Let's try Kishima Highway)

The sound of the engine of his motorcycle was the only sound within the small district. As he neared the station, he saw that there were people standing on the station, waving his hand at him, telling him to wait. One particular man who was in his early 20's smiled at Haeckel and ran down the stairs.

(He's a Meta.) The young man had superhuman speed and in no time, he unlocked the gate that led to the station.

"Welcome Sir. This place is safe." The man spoke in English.

"No need to speak in English, I can speak in the Japanese language." Haeckel spoke fluently. "I am Haeckel."
