Dead's Requiem

A yellow blur could be seen running towards the brutal zombie. At the same time, Shizuka fired another arrow, this time, towards the zombie's head. The zombie staggered back and fell on its butt.

The yellow blur, Sakuragi, passed by the zombie and stopped when he was ten meters away from the zombie.

"This is a new type of zombie. Or are there Meta zombies as well?" Sakuragi sheathed his sword.

The zombie tried to stand up but as soon as it moved, its head fell. Black blood squirted like a fountain then its body collapsed. The strong and brutal appearance was nowhere to be seen. Sakuragi kicked the body of the zombie and walked back to the station.

Back at the camp, Sakuragi asked Ernst Haeckel, "Have you seen one like that?"

"It's also the first time I've seen that kind of zombie but I've encountered a mutated bull once."

"Was the bull strong?"

"It took a rocket from an RPG-7 to take it down."

Silence filled the whole place until Haeckel broke the silence, "I'm going now."

"Wait! Can I come with you?" Shizuka was already in her human form. In her demon form, she looked like a seductive demon just like a succubus. In her human form on the other hand, she looked like an innocent high school student.

"If you want." Haeckel had already brought his motorcycle onto the railway. He didn't want to waste more time so he sat on the motorcycle.

Shizuka went towards him and sat behind Haeckel. The others did not say anything except for the good byes. Nobody even stopped Shizuka since they knew the value of a family member since they, too, had their families.

With Shizuka on his back, Haeckel continued his trip to Tokyo.

The trip using the railways was a good decision on Haeckel's part. The journey was much more relaxed since there were less factors to be considered. There were no cars blocking his way nor zombie hordes that blocked his path.

The two people passed by Hizen Yamaguchi all the way to Komorie Station in Kitakyushu City in the Fukuoka Prefecture without any hindrance. During the trip they both saw the sight of desolateness everywhere. They saw no presence of human life at all. Their smooth sailing tripped stopped at Komorie Station.

Japan has five main islands - Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu, Hokkaido and Okinawa. In between these islands was a vast expanse of sea. In order to travel from island to island, one must pass through bridges or use the railway.

Haeckel and Shizuka needed to cross to Shikoku from Kyushu. The Senyo Line, a railway that connects to the Shikoku island, was disconnected. A portion of the railway was gone and there was no way for them to cross the waters.

"We could probably try the Kanmonkaikyo Mekari Line." Shizuka suggested.

An hour later, the two was once again forced to make a detour since the trains blocked the way. It looked as if a royal rumble of trains happened.

"Then we have no other choice but to use the Highways." Shizuka said.

"It's also about time for us to refill fuel anyway." Haeckel looked at the flashing gas light. He had reserve gas but it was still better to refuel in a gas station.

There were a couple of zombies wandering inside the station but they were easily killed by both of them. Before leaving, Shizuka grabbed some snacks at the vendo machine. She burned a hole through the glass and took a bag of chips.

"You want some?"

"No. I'm fine thank you." Haeckel pushed his bike inside the station. He didn't want to attract any unnecessary attention specially since they were inside a closed space with many unidentified variables.

"Hey Haeckel, what level are you?"

"Level 3."

"I'm just level 2. Is it really true that you're not a Meta?"

"Yes."

"Why are you going to Tokyo anyway?"

"My wife's there waiting for me."

"Oh..." Shizuka stopped talking. Only the sound of her eating the chips could be heard inside the station. Whenever a zombie appeared, Haeckel would always ask for her to hold the motorcycle. Then, he would be the one to kill the zombie by cutting its head. Later on, it was already Shizuka who was pushing the motorcycle.

"Where did that sword come from?"

"I made it."

"You're kidding right? That looks like it was bought from the Shop."

"..." Haeckel just kept quiet. Quite frankly, he was getting irritated with the girl. (Didn't they say that this girl was quiet?)

Haeckel walked lightly and as quietly as he could. There were only three zombies near the exit of the station which Haeckel easily dwelt with. With his agility slightly higher than the average zombie, he now had an easier time. It was too bad that he had no guns. He felt that he was better with those than melee weapons.

Haeckel checked the map and memorized the all the routes and landmarks within a five kilometer area. "Let's go. We're keeping the motorcycle here."

"Where are we going?" Shizuka asked.

"It's about to get dark. We should look for a place to stay and look for a refueling station."

"Okay. I'll follow your orders."

Kishima City, Fukuoka Prefecture

Inside a three story apartment

"Shut your mouth. If you don't keep quiet, I'm going to feed you to those monsters outside. Do you hear me?"

A large burly man was forcing himself upon a woman. One of his rough and callous hands were covering the woman's mouth while the other was on the woman's neck. The woman stopped squealing but she was still struggling to get away.

"This is like my dream come true hehehe. Who knew that a woman with rare beauty will fall onto the hands of a regular man like me." The man licked his lips and smiled menacingly at the woman underneath him.

Then, the woman slapped the man so hard that her hand was imprinted on the man's face.

"Fuck!" The man slapped the woman. The woman was hurt hurt yet she still spat on the man's face.

"Try everything you can but you can't get away from here. Nobody will come and save you hahaha." The man slowly unbuttoned his shirt while laughing.
