Demon Emperor Prodigy System

As Arthur opened his eyes, he was welcomed by a bright light which only made him realise how dark the place he had managed to escape was; even though he died before, he never found himself in a place like that. The place he was in felt like he was sinking into deep darkness, with the only light being that of the notification from the system. Arthur was confused, but he did accept; after all, he had a desire. A desire to live. When sinking into the darkness of the afterlives, abyss the Prince realised he was not ready to die, and by his own reasonable decision, he found himself in the current situation. That situation is that of being embraced by a warm brightness of life.

As Arthur began to regain the sharpness within his vision, his heart sunk. The first thing he witnessed after reopening his eyes is something he wished to have never had to see ever again. What Arthur saw was a demon, not an ordinary demon, however, as this one seemed to emit AUTHORITY, PRIDE and most of all, POWER. After years of diplomacy and war, Arthur became a fluent reader of people, and he knew from what he saw and what it meant. This Demon is a Ruler, a Demon King.

A plethora of questions rushed through Arthur's head as he pondered all the possibilities. After all, he had been reborn once again and in his previous life eradicated a Demon King, so what was happening. Before Arthur could even think of an answer, he was being held by a woman, and even though she was a woman, he felt love behind her embrace and warmth he never thought possible of a demon.

She was quite beautiful, as goes for the demon race, but it seemed she was tired at the same time. Before Arthur knew, he had fallen asleep himself.

After waking up, the now reborn Prince started by inspecting his surroundings which left him feeling uneasy and disoriented. He thought, "this place is both modern and ancient at the same time; the architecture reminds me of my previous life as a prince, but the technology seemed even more modern than in the year 2025 when my life as John had originally come to an end" He sighed and continued "what is going on here"?

At that point, Art remembered the system, and as soon he wondered about how to see if he can open it, a holographic message popped up in front of him. Arthur, surprised, nearly shouted but knew he had to stay quiet. The now prepubescent child he is now, he used his small hands wiggling them around trying to touch the screen, but to no avail, his hands went straight through. It was just like the games from his original timeline.

He read the message; it read as follows, "You have accepted the rewards and accepted the terms of passing the tutorial. Welcome Lucifer, you have become a player under the system. Congratulations!"

The first question Arthur questioned was his new name Lucifer. After all, he thought to himself, "Did it really have to be that edgy?"

Arthur was used to names that exist in other worlds through his previous life, but he enjoyed the simplicity of names and the more common the name, the better. A habit from his first lifetime, it seems. "A simpler name would have done as well", he pondered.

After the message disappeared, a character menu popped out, and Arthur was intrigued.

"Now let us see what this has in store for me. It better be good I had to die to unlock it after all."

Lucifer was quite surprised and, at the same time, baffled how similar to a video game this life became. "It does remind me of those popular games from my your like white jungle online and old reel online", Interesting. In his life, as a Prince, he had to use the magic tools and train in privacy using golems and training centres. "This seems like it will tremendously help me in my growth."

"Similarly, the quests seem intriguing, and the only problem in my way is the three-year wait before being able to train."

Also, it appeared the system purposely placed restraints on him. Lucifer understood that if there are restraints, he will respect them since he was happy to be given a third chance at life. There was a clear understanding that the restraints are most likely not to disturb the laws of the current universe he found himself in.

Lucifer worried about how he was in an unknown place and surrounded by creatures he devoted his previous life to defeating. He came across a section in his system which read as follows:

"Demons like other races are individuals who can use abilities although they are born with a greater ability to resonate with molecules in mana and enhanced bodies, giving them a physical advantage over other races."

"Those who use mana are split into Conjurers, Brawlers and All-Rounders loved by mana and skilled in both types of fighting. A system different for every kingdom."

The guide seemed to be quite extensive with further knowledge, but the basics were easy to comprehend. In this world, it appeared that Demons were not causing any inconvenience but were presented to be evil by the majority of those residing on the continent. Lucifer wondered if it has been the equivalent in his previous life, and he was blinded and constrained by those around him as a disposable weapon. Blinded by those around him, he could have taken the lives of the innocent.

Having a person's entire worldview crashed is not something one can accept easily. It will take time for Lucifer to let go of his old ideologies and fulfil his new destiny even if he is not yet aware of what awaits him in this new and complex world.
