Finding Stardust

172 Your Highness, Please Reconsider...

They never expect, never in a million years, that their mission leader was not just anyone. They were under the assumption that Therius was General Moria's son. As it turned out, he was actually their own crown prince: Prince Licht.

When Therius looked at them with furrowed brows, Eris and Saul hurriedly ordered their men to take off. They must not make the crown prince angry.

"We'd better leave the cargo ship behind," said Therius. "Order your men to leave the cargo ship here in Daneria. They can catch up with us a few days later when the situation is clear. We will have a hard time escaping with a cargo following us. Heron brought a battleship with him to attack this ship. He wants to kill me."

Saul and Eris exchanged glances. Their expressions were a mix of fear and shock. Saul subconsciously held his breath and immediately touched Therius' hand respectfully.

"Your Highness... if indeed Prince Heron intends to destroy this ship and have a battleship shooting at us, then your life is in danger ..." He looked at Therius earnestly. "Your Highness must get off The Coralia, let us take this ship to space to be your decoy and distract them. You can hide in Daneria or the other ships. When things are safe, you can return to Akkadia."

Therius was stunned by Saul's words. He looked at the ship captain with a frown.

"I can't possibly leave you all to die for me," he said. "I never leave anyone behind!"

Eris added, "Your Highness, we only want to serve you. If anything happens to Akkadia's future king, we will not be able to live with shame and guilt for the rest of our lives. All of our descendants will also not dare to live on Akkadian's soil. Therefore, Your Highness, we beg you to save yourself. Please think of King Cassius and your people."

Emma frowned at the words uttered by Saul and Eris. Saul's suggestion made good sense. This might be their only way to escape.

If they rushed out of Coralia and hide in Daneria, Saul could bring The Coralia to distract Heron and his battleship. The enemy would think Therius was in The Coralia and try to escape. Heron would focus his attacks on this ship alone.

But this meant a suicide mission!

"Can we get everyone out of Coralia quickly?" asked Emma.

"We won't have time," said Therius, shaking his head sadly. "We might only be able to take Xion because his condition is not as bad as Haoran's. We cannot bring Haoran with us."

Therius understood that Emma was worried about Haoran if they get off The Coralia and hide in Daneria. If they let Coralia take off to distract Heron, then The Coralia's crew was ready to die for Therius.

"If Haoran doesn't come with us, then I won't leave this ship," Emma said stubbornly. She kept shaking her head. Her lips pursed, and her eyes glowed fiercely. "You can't make me."

"Don't you want to meet your parents?" asked Therius earnestly. "Don't you want to live and take revenge on Heron for causing Horan's death?"

Emma was still shaking her head in determination. Even though her face looked conflicting, she was resolute with her decision.

"I won't go if you don't take Haoran out of here!" she repeated her words.

Therius looked at Emma deeply. He took a deep breath and then turned to face Saul.

"If Princess Emma Stardust doesn't get off the ship, neither will I. So you better forget about that suicide plan of yours," he said to Saul.

Therius patted the captain on the shoulder and told him to prepare for takeoff

Saul shook his head, "No, Your Highness. I beg you, please don't order us to be traitors. We will not bring you to space just so you can surrender your life. Please, come out quickly and seek refuge."

He turned to Emma and bowed deeply to the girl.

"Your Highness, Princess Emma, I am begging you not to be overcome by emotion. There are so many things that you have to think about. You must want to be reunited with General Stardust and Princess Arreya and your younger brother, right?" asked Saul. "Doctor Salas said that it was very unlikely that your friend would recover. Your Highness, if you insist on staying here, you would only die together with the people who had already died."

Emma bit her lip. She refused to listen to Saul's words.

"I don't care. If Haoran stays here, then I'll stay too," said the girl. She clenched her fists to the side, trying to keep her tears from flowing.

If her life must end here, at least Emma could die together with Haoran.

Seeing Emma's determination, Therius took a deep breath. He also actually didn't like sacrificing The Coralia's crew. Besides ... what's the point in surviving alone and returning to Akkadia without Emma? He would only waste a year of his life on something in vain.

With that consideration, he then spoke firmly. "Don't talk nonsense. We go together, then we have to go home together. I'm not getting off the ship."

Saul, Eris, and all the crew turned pale. They could guess that Therius refused to get off the ship because Emma insisted on staying.

Saul felt that he had no other choice.

He immediately knelt down in front of Emma.

"Your Highness, Princess Emma. I beg you to reconsider your decision. We hope you can stay alive so that later you can avenge our deaths ..." Saul begged in a dejected tone.

"We beg you, Your Highness Princess Emma ..."

"We beg you, Your Highness Princess Emma..."

Eris also knelt down beside Saul and begged Emma, followed by the crew on the bridge, one by one. They all knelt where they were and made the same plea to Emma and Therius to leave The Coralia and save themselves.

Emma was stunned by the sight before her. Her eyes became wet. She knew the clock was ticking.

She could no longer hold back her tears from streaming down her cheeks.

She realized that Saul was right. She must not be selfish. She must not let so many people die in vain for her.

Finally, with tears in her eyes, Emma ran to Natan's clinic.
