Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 59 - You Can Count On Me, Master

Celestia's POV:

I don't exactly remember when I fell unconscious. It must have been the time I was filling the sixth vial with blood. That was when I felt like someone was draining the life out of my body.

But when I woke up, I was in a completely different location. I was lying on the bed in a room that seemed to be like a cottage. Theo must have brought me here.

But why is there no one in this room? And did I manage to fill nine vials? I got down from my bed and noticed the backside of my golden warrior suit, which I was wearing, was covered in dirt.

So I must have fallen on the ground! I walked out of the cottage and saw the crystal watered stream, which was flowing from the enormous mountains.

But still, no sight of Theo! Where did they all go? I walked on the banks of the streams and reached the waters. The water level was higher this time, and many sea creatures were visible.

Since it was the rainy season, the streams were denser, and the land was greener. This is one of the reasons why I love the monsoon season the most. Monsoon makes the land lovely!

Just when I was admiring the lands, I heard a familiar voice. "Celestia, are you alright?" The voice came out of the blue and almost scared the life out of me.

I glanced to my side and was shocked to see Ember. She was wearing the Fathomless warrior clothes that had a symbol of the sun on the chest plate.

"What are you doing here?" I asked her. "You are a Fathomless warrior now, and you should be in the Highlands!"

"Did you forget that I am actually from here? Of course, I live in the Highlands now. But I came here as soon as I got the news about the Vampire attack," Ember explained.

Now I get it! Ember is here because of the Vampire attack. I thought that Ember was here to explain how Theo is trying to deceive me. Ember did something which was completely unexpected.

She knelt on the green grass and bowed her head down to me. "Thank you so much for saving my warrior friends. If it weren't for you, then they would have turned into Vampires," Ember almost cried.

"Ember, please get up from the ground. You don't have to thank me. I was just doing my duty," I said to her.

Ember then got up from the ground and glanced at me. "You don't understand, Celestia. No one in the Highlands cares about Mages. When I got the news of Vampires attacking the Valley lands, I immediately asked King Oberon to aid us. But he refused to do it."

Tears began to well up in her hazel-black eyes. I moved closer to her and patted her shoulder. "I am sorry about that, Ember. My father doesn't want to interfere in the affairs of the Mages. He has always been like that."

"But, what about people's lives?" Ember wiped her tears with her bronze fingers as she said that. "Even when the Mages are dying, he wouldn't do anything about it? Then why is he known as the King of the Celestial realm? He should be just the King of the Highlands."

Ember's questions were reasonable. If the Vampires had attacked the Fae lands, King Oberon would have fought tooth and nail against the Vampires. My father is quiet now only because the Mages are getting attacked. This is unjust!

"The Mages of the Valley lands don't have to worry anymore because the Southern Lord Silver Shadow and I will be there to protect them when the Vampires attack this region again," I declared.

Ember finally stopped weeping. I never knew that she was even capable of crying. Usually, she is tough as nails. But I understand her feelings. Her motherland got attacked, and her friends were injured.

This incident makes me feel that Theo is right. He told me that King Oberon is an unfair ruler. Perhaps things would be good if Theo rules the realm. But a war would cause unnecessary bloodshed. The mountain region is my motherland, and how could I let Theo attack them? So it is for the best if we don't attack the Faes.

Just then, Theo arrived at the spot. He gave a deadly glare to Ember. "What is she doing here?" he asked me.

Theo still doesn't know about her true intentions. Even before I could explain it to him, Ember shocked all of us by bowing down in front of Theo.

"Silver Shadow, I thank you with all my heart for saving my people. At this moment, I pledge my allegiance to you," Ember said and took out her sword.

"That is not necessary," Theo turned her down immediately. "It is nice to know that you are no more on the side of the lame King Oberon. So it would be enough if you prove your loyalty to me by staying on my side and working for me."

"I would be honored to work for you, Silver Shadow," Ember said. "And I would like to apologize for everything that I did in the past to separate Celestia from you."

Theo smiled at her. "You are already forgiven, Ember. Since you're my warrior now, I will be expecting you in the battle area tonight."

" You can count on me, Master," Ember said and walked away from us.

After she left, Theo fixed his eyes on me. "I am so proud of you today, my love. You have won the people's hearts by saving those nine Mage Warriors. Even though it hurt me to see you suffer, you managed to impress me even more with your determination."

I breathed out in relief after I heard that the warriors survived. It is such a huge accomplishment for me. Then I put my arms around his body and squeezed myself to him.

Theo pecked my forehead and said, "Get ready for tonight, Celestia. A lot of Vampires are expected to arrive."

I sighed on his shoulder. What do I have to do to get some peace here?
