Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 60 - This Battle Is Not Related To You

Celestia's POV:

The nine Mage warriors overwhelmed me by thanking me many times for saving them. It took me a lot of time to calm them down. People in the Valley are very kind to us, and it is getting difficult to handle their kindness.

They have even begun to worship Theo like a deity now. It made me realize how vulnerable and helpless these people must have felt. That is the only reason they are thinking highly of us.

After conversing with the warriors, I went back to the cottage, which was on the stream banks. The Mage Lord Magnus provided us this cottage to stay.

Theo was getting ready for the big war. He was not wearing any armor, but multiple scabbards were attached to the back of his robe. Is he carrying more than one weapon?!!!

That seems odd! Usually, he doesn't carry even a single weapon. He told me once that his inner powers are more than enough to destroy anyone. He even told me not to use my sword anymore.

Theo rolled the cuffs of his robes up, and then he scanned at me. "So they finally let you go?"

I grinned at him. "You can't blame them, Theo. They are just showing their gratitude this way," I asserted. "And why do you have two weapons? You told me that weapons are not needed in the battle. But now you are having two of them?"

Theo took a step forward to me. "Celestia, my love. Sometimes you have to change your strategies according to the challenges that are given to you."

I didn't expect a straight answer from him. And he met my expectations by giving me a vague reply. Whatever! Theo never shares his strategy beforehand. He surprises everyone at the last minute by doing something incredible, which astonishes everyone.

I didn't ask him anything after that. Theo held my face in his hand and said, "Listen to me Carefully, Celestia. You lost a lot of blood yesterday. It is possible that you might quickly be drained of energy in the battle. So you are not going to fight along with me. I want you to stay a step behind me in the battle area. Do you understand?"

But I didn't feel weak at all. Theo is worried for nothing! It is nice that he looks out for me, but he is wrong this time.

"I'll be fine, Theo. You don't have to worry about me," I replied.

Theo ignored my words entirely and said, "Just promise me that you won't come to the front lines. No matter what happens in the battle area, you should stay behind me."

It isn't easy to change his mind once he has fixated on something. So it's better if I give in to his request. And he is just doing this out of love, so it is only fair if I let it slide.

"Okay," I agreed. "I will stay behind you in the battle."

"That is my girl!" he retorted.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theo gathered all the Warriors nearby the stream when the sun was setting down behind the mountains. Lord Magnus told us that the Vampires came to this spot yesterday. So it is anticipated that they might come here again tonight.
Ember volunteered to be at my side throughout the battle. I know that Theo is behind this one. He doesn't trust me enough to leave me on my own. I was hurt a little because of this, but still, I let it go as he does these things out of love.
Theo was instructing the Mage warriors who were gathered on the spot. I was surprised to see the increase in the number of warriors. Ember and I were watching them from a distance.
I glanced at her and said, "How come there are more warriors here today?"
"Because a lot of them were hibernating at their homes out of fear," Ember explained to me. "Now, all the warriors are gathered here because of you and Silver Shadow. They all have immense faith in you two."
I was so moved by her explanation. It is good that warriors are not hiding out in fear anymore. They are meant to fight battles courageously.
We all waited and waited for a long time. Are the Vampires going to come here now? Because the moon has already arrived in the sky. Vampires always attack their prey at night time. So they could be here anytime by now.
I still wasn't able to comprehend one thing. Why are the Vampires attacking this region alone? There must be a reason for that! But no one around me seems to know the answer to this.
Precisely at that moment, a portal opened right behind the large willow tree that was on the banks of the streams. This must be it! The Vampires are here.
All the warriors in the stream banks went alert, and they moved closer to the portal. Theo stood on the front lines, and he was leading the rest of them. I kept my promise and stood two steps behind Theo!
The bat griffins were the first ones to come out of the portal. This is unpredictable! I only expected Vampires to be here. Who would have thought that they would arrive here on their pets?!!!
I noticed that the Vampires who accompanied us back in the shadow realm were the ones who stood on the front lines. This is getting great!
More than thirty Vampires arrived at the spot. The Mage warriors alone can outnumber the Vampires three to one. But still, the Vampires are more potent during the nighttime. So the Mage warriors would have been defeated again if they were the only ones here.
The portal door closed when all the Vampires and two bat griffins emerged out it. I wondered what the fighting skills of the Bat Griffins were! I guess that I am going to find out about it soon.
A male Vampire who was wearing a robe made up of black leather strode closer to Theo. He was the same one who accompanied us in the Shadow Realm.
"This battle is in no way related to you, Silver Shadow.. Why are you even here?" The Vampire asked Theo.
