Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 61 - Battle With Vampires - Part One

Celestia's POV:

The male Vampire's words took me by shock. I thought that he would threaten Theo and ask him to leave the battlefield. But why would he say that the battle is not related to Theo? Then who are these Vampires actually targeting?

Theo just smirked at the male Vampire and said, "You are attacking the people of my land here. So I am related to this battle!"

The male Vampire got annoyed by Theo's comments. He was about to attack Theo with his long claw-like nails, but the female Vampire next to him stopped him from doing it. "Calm down, Alaric. Now is not the time to strike," she yelled at him, and then she faced Theo.

"Silver Shadow," she hissed like a snake. "The Mage Lord Magnus has got something that we need. We are just here to take what belongs to us. Can you please step aside now?"

As the minute went by, I got more and more confused by their manner. Mage Lord has got something that they need?!!!

Theo shook his head abruptly. "I am sorry to break it to you, but I am answering you all on behalf of Lord Magnus. He tells you that he owes you nothing, and I personally think that you all need a hobby other than this," Theo said mockingly.

The Vampires got even more frantic by the way Theo ridiculed them. "I guess we don't have a choice here except to fight," Alaric mumbled.

"Bring it on," Theo shouted. And so the battle began. The Vampires raged on the Mage warriors first. I expected that someone would try to fight with Theo and me, but no one did.

I understood the reason for that immediately. The Vampires are clearly intimidated by us, so they are attacking the weaker ones first. Theo turned to me and said, "Celestia, it looks like no one is going to strike at us first, so I am going to do the deed. And I expect you to stay behind here."

"Okay," I reacted. Theo then struck his silver flames on the Vampires who were attacking random Mages with their claws and fangs. I noticed that no one on the battlefield was standing still and watching the show as I did.

Theo dived into the arena, and he was attacking multiple Vampires at a time. But I noticed that he didn't hurt any of those Vampires. His silver flames just stunned the opponents.

Well, it is impossible to kill a Vampire even if Theo burns them with his flames. Because the Vampires had the potential to heal themselves from all the wounds. The only thing that will slay them entirely is the Ice breaker weapon.

The Mage warriors were putting out a tough fight against the Vampires. The Mages always relied on their weapons when it came to combat because their powers are not strong like that of Faes.

But Mages are capable of performing charms and spells, and sometimes they use charmed weapons to destroy their opponents. This is the reason why King Oberon refused to acknowledge the Mages.

But just because they are weak, it doesn't mean that they should be abandoned. And even with this capability, the Mages were giving a tough time to the Vampires today. So at the end of the day, a constant determination is what gives us glory!

And Ember is the best example of constant determination. She was fighting neck to neck with a female Vampire. She has gotten even fiercer than she was before. She was giving a hard time to the female Vampire who was fighting with her. She has clearly learned new combat skills while she was training to become a Fathomless Warrior.

The Vampire tried to scratch her skin with long claws, but Ember struck the sharp end of the dagger on her neck. The female Vampire began to tremble. But still, she had managed to yank off the blade from her neck.

Since Vampires' bodies are blessed with quick healing powers, her neck healed instantly. This time Ember was completely unarmed. I got worried about her. I have to step in and save her. But Theo told me not to charge first.

But if I defend Ember, it is just a defense. I should conjure a shield around Ember and aid her until she gets back to her feet. But even before I could do that, an ash wood arrow appeared out of thin air and hit the female Vampire's back.

Who did this?!!!! I glanced to my side and looked at the Mage Lord's daughter Marilyn. She was carrying a wooden bow, and a lot of ash wood arrows were there in the quiver, which was attached to the backside of her gown.

Why is she here?!! I thought that the daughter of the Lord is just a regular Mage. But is she a warrior?

The ash wood can subdue the Vampires to an extent, but still, that is not enough to completely stop them. And where did she even get this wood? It is mainly found in the Highland regions only.

The female Vampire stumbled on her feet after she got hit by the ash wood arrow. Soon she got knocked out and fell to the ground. But she might be up anytime soon. This is only temporary.

I beamed at Marilyn, and I was about to thank her for aiding us. But soon, she was entirely surrounded by four Vampires. Marilyn tried to hit them with her arrows, but one of the male Vampires grabbed her bow and broke it into two pieces with his pale and clawed hands.

This can't be good. Someone should step in there and help her. But the rest of them were busy. Ember fought with the other opponents, and Theo was not even on the land. I was astonished when I saw him flying in the sky with his white Siren wings spread out.

He was chasing after a Vampire warrior in the sky who was on his Bat Griffin. I can't call him for help now. I should take care of this situation by myself.

The Vampires were about to hurt Marilyn. But I sprinted there and stepped in front of her. "If you have to get to her, then you would have to go through me," I declared.

With the inner powers I had in me, I created an invisible shield around Marilyn and me. At first, my shield was strong.. But when the four Vampires attacked us, I noticed that my energy was getting feeble.
