Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow
Chapter 62 - Battle With Vampires - Part Two
Celestia's POV:
Theo has proved to me several times that everything he instructs me to do is for my own good! He told me for a reason not to indulge in combat. He warned me before that my powers would get dissolved if I tried to unleash them tonight.
But I had to do this for Marilyn. The Vampires were about to hurt her. If I had not stepped in, then she would have been dead by now. I did this to save a life!
I wasn't able to hold on to the shield anymore. I turned back to Marilyn, who was hiding behind me and weeping uncontrollably.
"Listen to me, Marilyn," I mumbled. "I am going to let down this shield, and when I do that, stick these ash wood arrows on these Vampires. Do you understand?"
Marilyn nodded immediately. I hope I can depend on her. Or else we both would be overpowered by these four alpha Vampires. Eventually, I had to let go of my shield.
One of the Vampires tried to dig his claws on my neck, but Marilyn stuck an ash wood arrow on his chest and saved me. That was good!
Now there are only three of them. But our opponents got alerted too. They took away the quiver which was attached to Marilyn's gown and threw it far away from us.
Now she had no more arrows to use. Marilyn hid behind me, and she began to weep again. I didn't even have the strength to comfort her. I tried to gather the little shreds of energy that was left in me to cast out Golden flames from my palms.
I managed to hit one of the opponents with my sparks. But after that, I felt like my life was getting sucked instead. My sparks were very feeble, and the color of my flames was dim yellow.
I can't call them sparks anymore. At that moment, I understood the value of each drop of my blood. I just gave out nine vials of blood, and my powers are entirely diminished.
But I still didn't give up. I kept striking the three Vampires with my feeble sparks. But my weak sparks did not affect them. The least it did was slightly burn their clothes.
I sensed that even burning their clothes is good enough to distract them. So I directed all my flames at their robes. Two of them ran away as their clothes were on fire. But one of them did not move at all.
He just removed the upper part of his burning robes and showed off his physique to me. Since he is shirtless, if I hit him now, I would be able to injure him.
But I wasn't able to light up a single spark after that. My hands went numb, and my body admitted the defeat even before my mind. I crouched down on the ground and gazed at the green grass.
I placed my hands on the grass and tried hard to stay conscious. I was able to hear the sinister laughter of the Vampire. Even though I was humiliated, I had no other choice except to accept the defeat.
Suddenly, I heard a shrill scream of a woman shouting in my head. I thought it was Marilyn, but when I shut my eyes tight, I realized that it was me!
I was wearing a ruby red long gown, and I was roaming in the forest of light helplessly when the bright afternoon sun was up in the sky. The forest of light wasn't beautiful anymore. There was fire everywhere around me.
All the trees, Peonilla flowers, and everything around me were on fire. What is happening here? Why is this forest burning? I tried hard to put off and neutralize the fire with the help of my golden sparks. But whatever I did only raised the fire even more.
It was so heartbreaking to see my favorite place in the realm getting burned down. Ever since I was a kid, I came to this forest for solace. I used to talk to these tall Ruby Berry trees even when they couldn't reply to me. Now all the juicy berries are on fire.
I walked away from there as I wasn't able to see that anymore. I reached the spot where I took the Oath of Eternity with Theo. It happened right under this oak tree. Now the enormous tree was burning down right in front of my eyes, and I wasn't able to do anything about it.
Why is this happening? Who is so cold-hearted enough to set fire to a beautiful place like this? I began to scream out loud.
"Celestia…...," I heard Theo's voice. "Stay with me, Celestia....."
I immediately opened my eyes after I heard Theo's voice. It took me a while to realize that it was a vision. It was a vision?!!!!!!! So whatever I saw just now is going to happen in the future?
That thought saddened me so much. Visions can't be changed or modified! If that happens, then what can I do?
I didn't get up from the ground even after I came back to my senses. Theo stood in front of me, and he had created a strong shield around us. So that is the reason why the shirtless Vampire didn't get me even when I was blacked out for a while.
I wondered how Theo never ran out of energy. His energy level seemed to be the same from the beginning. When will I become like Theo?
The rest of the Mage warriors were still battling with the Vampires, but they were all exhausted, unlike Theo. They need help now. Soon the Mage warriors began to lose the battle one by one.
Theo was trying hard to subdue all the Vampires single-handedly. More than fifteen of them were targeting Theo now. I finally understood the strategy of the Vampires.
They target the weak ones first and finally attack the strong. The situation was out of control. And I am the reason for this. Theo and the rest of them were doing fine until I messed up!
They all were distracted because of me, and now our opponents are winning.
