Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Celestia's POV: 

I slowly managed to get up from the ground. I feel a little better now. If I manage to unleash some of my powers, then it will be helpful for everyone. I stood beside Theo, and I tried to feel the force. 

"That is not necessary, Celestia," Theo said. "Just stay back."

Theo then let the shield down, and he strode closer to the Vampires. What is he doing? But Theo seemed so confident. This must be one of his strategies! 

Even the Vampires were confused by the sudden change in Theo's attitude. He then took out both the weapons from the scabbard, which was connected to the back of his robe. 

One was his regular silver dagger, and the other one seemed to be like a metallic sword. It is the Icebreaker! I began to feel hope again as I saw that weapon. 

The Vampires were startled when they saw the Icebreaker in the hands of Theo. "This can't be true," the Alpha Vampire Alaric shouted. "Icebreaker is with King Ambrogio now. You are trying to trick us with a fake weapon."

Theo smirked at the Alaric. "Are you really willing to take a chance? Do you want me to stab you with this weapon?" 

Theo shook the Icebreaker twice, and then it turned into a flexible metallic whip with spikes on it. The Vampires gasped when they saw the deadly weapon that was capable of slaying them. 

Theo then flashed the Icebreaker in front of the Vampires. Their pale faces looked even paler than before. They all began to move away from Theo.

"My dear Vampires," Theo yelled out. "Your clan leader Alaric thinks that this is a fake Ice breaker. And I would like to show you all that it is real. For that, I need one of you to volunteer for this experiment. So, which one of you is willing to get hit by this nice and spiky whip?"

The Vampires got intimidated by Theo after that. They all began to run away from the spot in a hurry. Even the Bat Griffins were flying far away from us. And in a swift moment, they were all out of sight. 

Finally, the battle has come to an end. The Mage warriors began to cheer and applaud Theo.

But I was mad at him. Why didn't he use the Icebreaker at the beginning itself? The Vampires were so scared after they saw it, and they yielded immediately. 

If this weapon is more than enough to stop the battle, then why did Theo make every one of us fight?

I did not confront him until we both reached the cottage because Theo is being respected like a deity here, and I don't want to destroy people's faith. 

I sat down on the bed and glanced at Theo, who took off his sheath from his robes. 

"Theo, you have got to give me an explanation on this," I said. 

He breathed out and sat down on the bed beside me. "Celestia," he sighed. "I know what you are going to ask me. I didn't use the Icebreaker at the beginning of the battle because I didn't want the Vampires to know that I gave them a fake weapon."

"But why?" I asked out. "You already are battling with them, and what is the worst thing that will happen if they come to know about that?"

Theo didn't give me a quick answer for that. He hesitated so much before he began to speak again. 

"My love, you know that the Icebreaker is the biggest fear of these Vampires, don't you?"

I nodded immediately. "They are scared of the Icebreaker so much that they run away at the sight of it."

"Exactly, Celestia. The Vampire King Ambrogio's only fear is this weapon. For many years, the Vampires didn't attack the land as they were scared of this weapon. They entered the Valley only because they thought that we didn't have the weapon anymore. But now the fear is back in their cold hearts when I revealed to them that I had the weapon," Theo explained to me. 

Sometimes I never really get what Theo is coming to say, and this is one of those times. I gave him a confused glare. 

"My sweetness, you have to remember that fear completely wrecks the functioning of the brain. People in fear tend to go beyond their way just to get what they want."

"You are right! Darius used to tell me that fear is the mind-killer," I interrupted him. 

Theo nodded slowly. "That is true! Now the Vampire King Ambrogio must be scared to his bones after knowing that I have the Icebreaker. Now he will try to retrieve the Icebreaker from me at any cost. And I know what he is going to do next!"

"What is he going to do next?" I asked him in a terror-filled tone. 

"He is probably going to cause a feud between the Angels and Demons again just like he did in the past," Theo said and made me gasp. 

"I am a trickster, Celestia," Theo went on. "And Ambrogio is a trickster just like me. So if I were in Ambrogio's place, then I would probably trigger the Demons against Angels even more. That will give me an opportunity to retrieve the sword. Even though it is a very slim chance and it causes massive destruction, I will take it because I want to retrieve the only weapon which is capable of slaying me at any cost."

Theo's justification made me see everything from a different perspective. The light and shadows forces were never on good terms. But at least for the past few years, they both didn't engage in a war. 

But now Ambrogio would instigate a war again just like he did in the past? And all of this is going to happen just for a sword?!! 

"Okay," I breathed out. "If revealing the truth about Icebreaker causes this much destruction, then why did you do it?"

Theo looked away from me and gazed at the wall in front of him. "I had no intention of using the Icebreaker, but still, I kept it in my sheath for backup. I never wanted to use it, but I wasn't able to restrain myself when my biggest fear acted upon me."

"Your biggest fear acted upon you?" I asked him skeptically. "But what is your biggest fear?"

"It is you," Theo responded immediately. 

"What?" I gasped. "You are scared of me?" 

"I am scared of losing you, my love. That is my biggest fear," Theo confessed. "When I saw you in misery on the battlefield, I wasn't able to take it! So I used the weapon and halted the battle just to put an end to your suffering."

I was moved by his confession. It made me feel happy and sad at the same time.. I felt glad that Theo loved me so much. And I was sad and guilty that I am the reason for these chain reactions of destruction!
