Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Celestia's POV: 

"Lord Magnus, your offer is completely unnecessary. We have no intention of ruling your region. We came here just to help you," I said to him. 

Theo was still silent when Magnus seemed to be waiting for his reply too. This is ridiculous! Why would Lord Magnus make such a request to us? He has been ruling this region for so many years, and he can't just offer his land to us like this. 

And we didn't actually save these people. Theo bought chaos in this land on purpose just to aid me in realizing my angelic powers. So we don't deserve the prize the Mage Lord is offering us. 

Magnus turned to me as Theo was tight-lipped. "Dawn, please accept our humble request. Everyone in my region wants you both to rule them. Please don't let us all down."

"But why would they want us to rule? We are just warriors who came here to bring peace to this land. Silver Shadow and I will continue to do that," I declared. 

Magnus was disappointed by my answer. I looked around the courtroom, and I was shocked to find that everyone was disappointed by my response. Are they all expecting us to rule the land? They can't be serious!

"The Mages of the lowlands are finally seeing some rays of sunshine after facing years of darkness," Lord Magnus asserted. "We were labeled as weaklings by the Highlanders, and King Oberon completely ignored us in the period of crisis. But now my people are hopeful because of you two. Please don't take away this hope from my people."

I didn't know what to say after that. If I accept their request, I will feel guilty. If I don't accept their request, still I will be feeling guilty for letting them down. What can I do now? It was hard for me to come up with some sort of excuse. Then it flashed me!

"Silver Shadow is already the ruler of the Southern Mage lands. So I don't think that it would be possible for us to rule the southern and the Valley regions together," I asserted. 

Now they have to withdraw their proposal! But Magnus still seemed to be determined. "Then I take back my old proposal and present you a new one," Magnus said.

Smile disappeared from my face when I heard what he said. "What is your new proposal?" I asked him hesitantly. If it doesn't involve ruling their regions, then it will be fine!

"Ever since I became the Lord of the Valley, I always imagined the lowlanders functioning as an independent kingdom," Magnus said while he was eyeing his subjects in the courtroom. "But I wasn't able to fulfill that dream because I did not have the power to face King Oberon."

I don't like where this is going! Still, I kept quiet and listened to his speech. Magnus then gazed at Theo and me. 

"Now we Mages have you two! You both brought hope back to the lowlanders. So I think that the Dawn and the Silver Shadow can be crowned as the King and Queen of the lowlands. Arcadia and I will continue to be the Lords of the Northern and Southern region and rule the lands on your terms."

Never in my wildest dream did I think that the Mages would give us such proposals. This should not be happening! If Theo becomes the King of the lowlands, my father is really not going to like it. 

And they want Lowlands to be an independent kingdom?!!! This is going to spark a rebellion between the Faes and Mages. Lord Magnus is definitely out of his mind! That is why he is even saying such things. 

"How many of you here think that the Silver Shadow should be crowned as the King of the Lowlands?" Lord Magnus yelled out at his subjects. 

Everyone in the courtroom raised their hands and showed their support to us. So this is happening for real? I glanced at Theo, hoping that he would do something to stop this madness. 

So far, Theo has not spoken a word on this. I wasn't able to comprehend what was going on in his mind. Or does he want to be the King of Lowlands?!!

"Celestia, it would be rude if we do not accept their proposal," Theo finally spoke out. "The lowlanders have been waiting for a change for so long, and now they see it through us. We must fulfill their demands."

I didn't expect this response from him. I thought that he would try and refuse the proposal. 

So it is evident now that he does want to be the King! That is why he is convincing me to agree with this. 

All the Mages were staring at me, and they were waiting for my response. Now it is up to me to decide. If I refuse now, these people will be disappointed. 

"Fine!" I uttered. "We accept your proposal."

The whole courtroom came to life only after that. Happiness was evident in their faces. Even though I made a huge mistake by agreeing to their proposal, it felt so good to see them delighted. 

Theo then walked up to the stage and stood next to the throne. I didn't feel like following him up there because I don't deserve such an honor. 

"All hail the King of the Lowlands, Silver Shadow," Lord Magnus shouted. All of them in the room chanted the same in unison and hailed their New King. 

Theo beamed at his subjects. At that moment, I sensed something in his eyes. It was filled with pride! 

His manner showed me that he was expecting this moment for a long time. This has been his plan all along! Theo's true intentions were never to help me with unleashing my angelic powers alone. 

He caused this chaos, gained the trust of these people, and now he has been crowned as the King by them! His deepest desire is to overthrow Father Oberon and to become the King of the Celestial realm. 

Today he is already the ruler of half of the Celestial realm. And I let this all happen?!!!!!!!
