Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 78 - A Message From The Firebird

Celestia's POV:

I peeked through the window and watched the Siren girls walk away from the cottage. Why didn't they come in here? Perhaps they are not aware that I am hiding in Daviana's cottage.

What would have happened if Daviana had not injected me with the Unicorn's blood? Then the Sirens would have sensed my presence and taken me to Theo. That was a close one!

I sat down on the bed and tried to catch my breath. Theo won't quit searching for me. When my psychic resistance wears off, they might be able to sense me again.

And Daviana has very little Unicorn blood, and that won't keep me hidden from them for so long! I should have to come up with something else.

Daviana came into my room and closed the drapes of the windows. Then the whole room became dark. She then turned to me and said, "You shouldn't leave this room at any cost. No one should know that the Dawn is here."

"Honestly, I don't have any intention of leaving this room either," I responded.

"That is good," Daviana said. "Darius and the Fathomless warriors are going to be here any minute by now."

My heart began to feel hope after I heard that. "Darius is going to be here?" I cried out.

Daviana nodded and said, "Yes! Ember has already given them a message about your arrival through a Firebird."

"She did the right thing," I asserted.

Firebirds are teleporting birds that deliver secret messages from one person to another who are in totally different places.

Firebirds resemble the Phoenix birds in appearance. But the Firebirds don't rise again from the ashes, unlike the Phoenix.

Back when I was in the mountain regions, I had my very own pet Firebird. Its name is Tangerine. I got gloomy when I thought about her.

I miss her so much! I used to feed berries to her every day. I miss those golden-brown eyes of hers that twinkle whenever I free her from her cage. She is intelligent enough to return back to me safely every time I let her go.

Just then, a screeching noise from the hall brought me back to the present. I rushed out of my room immediately. My pet Tangerine had appeared out of nowhere, and it had a piece of paper tied to its leg.

It has brought a message for me from the Highland! When she saw me, she immediately flew to me and landed her claws on my arm. With her yellow beak, she began to peck my cheek gently and showed her affection.

I was able to sense that she was in distress for so long as I left her. "I am sorry for leaving you," I said and patted her head gently.

Her appearance made me forget all the sadness that I had a while ago. I took off the piece that was tied to her orange claws and read the message.

'Father Oberon's court meeting is going on. So we won't be able to arrive there until midnight. And Celestia, it is good to have you back.'

It was a message from Darius. My friends are going to be here to support me!

I waited and waited for the night to arrive. Tangerine was keeping me company for the day. She never left my side, even for a second. She constantly flew around me, and then finally, she laid her claws on my left shoulder.

I fed her berries multiple times, just like I did in the old times. I should have never left her at all. I should have never broken the vow I gave my father in the first place. Whenever I thought about my past mistakes, my head began to ache.

Suddenly, a portal appeared in the living room, and Darius got out of it. I expected that all the Fathomless warriors would arrive, but only Edwin, Laris, and Vivian accompanied him.

"Celestia," Laris yelled out, and he moved closer to me. He tried to give me a hug, but he flew ten steps away from me. I almost forgot that no man could touch or embrace me anymore except Theo!

Vivian laughed at Laris as he got up from the ground and blinked at us. "Have you forgotten that we wouldn't be able to touch the Dawn because of her Oath?" Vivian questioned Laris.

"I am so furious at the Silver Shadow," Laris screamed out.

I got depressed again when I heard his name. Tangerine had the ability to sense whenever I got sad. She began to peck my cheek again. I am fortunate enough to have people I love around me in difficult times like this!

It was time for discussion. We all sat down on the ground in a circle so that everyone could face each other.

Darius was looking at me vividly. I was not able to comprehend his expression. "Father Oberon is losing support from the Faes in the Highlands day by day. Silver Shadow will use this as an opportunity to attack the mountain regions. We should stop him as soon as possible."

"But Silver Shadow promised me that he would not invade the Highlands," I argued with Darius.

My statement made Laris laugh out loud. I glanced to my right side and gave him a nasty glare.

"Do you seriously believe the promises made by a trickster?" Laris questioned me and continued to laugh.

He was not wrong! So far, all he did was lie to me. I turned to Darius again. "I am sorry, but I don't know how to stop him. I won't be able to fight him due to my oath. And you all can't fight him because you guys are not strong enough to face the Silver Shadow."

"Celestia, there is one way we can stop him," Darius said. "And only you would be able to do it, and I am pretty sure that your Oath won't come in your way."

I got curious. Is there a way to stop the trickster?!!!

"What is it?" I questioned him eagerly.
