Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 79 - There Is Always A Way

Celestia's POV:

"I am ready to do anything if it means that I can stop the trickster. So just tell me, what is it?" I asked Darius.

Darius hesitated to say it out loud. I know that it is not going to be an easy task. The way Darius hesitated made me feel even more anxious.

"Saber of Venom is the only weapon which is strong enough to eliminate the Silver Shadow," Darius answered. "The Venom of a serpent has the power to destroy anything or anyone. I suggest you stab the Silver Shadow with the Serpent's saber right at his heart."

My heart almost stopped after hearing that. Should I have to stab him with the saber? But I can't do that! When I thought of stopping Theo, I meant it as subduing him and throwing him in the dungeon. But I should have to eliminate him?!!!

"I can't use the Saber against him because," I paused and thought for a reason. Then it struck me. "Silver Shadow made me promise that I will use the Saber according to his will."

"Then give the Saber to me," Darius said.

"But the Serpent King said that only I could use the Saber as I am the sacrifice," I crossed him again.

Darius got impatient with my answer. His pale cheeks began to flare up red in anger.

"Celestia," he yelled at me. For a moment, he looked just like Father Oberon. "You are supposed to be the savior of this realm. But now you are going to be the reason for our doom!"

"I am sorry about it. Would you all please give me a chance to fix this?"

Darius chuckled through anger. "There is nothing we could do now, Celestia. All the doors are closed. You have already bound to him for eternity, so you can't battle against him! And you can't use the Saber without his permission?!!! What did you think when you made such promises to him?"

"But I was tricked by him," I cried out.

Darius shrugged off at my reply. "For Aiden's sake, you are the Dawn! You should have known better than that. Now even if you break your promise and stab Theo with the Saber, it will have a terrible consequence on you! So you can do nothing against him except accepting the defeat!"

I have never been this guilty! I wasn't even able to look at any of their faces. I have let them all down. But I can't accept the defeat. What will happen to my people if I did?

"I am going to break the promise that I have given to him," I declared. "I will do everything in my power to bring him down, even if it means that I would have to suffer terrible consequences. Because it is my fault, so it is only fair that I stop him at any cost."

They all were shocked by my declaration. Darius didn't protest at my answer as he still seemed to be furious. But the rest of them appeared to be concerned about me.

"Celestia, for Aiden's sake, don't break any more vows," Daviana interrupted. "Because you have already broken two vows in the past. If you go against Silver Shadow and use the Saber of Venom against him, then you will be breaking two more vows. It will have very dark consequences on you."

"I am willing to accept any dark consequence that may happen to me after this. But I don't want to be the reason why you guys suffer," I said out firmly and got up from the floor.

I went to the room and locked myself up in my room as I didn't want to have that conversation with them anymore.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wasn't able to sleep all night. But Tangerine was keeping me company. She is the only one who wasn't judging me. I am glad that at least a single soul can understand me.
I was still heartbroken by the way Darius spoke to me. Whatever he told me was not false. I have been cursing myself for the past two days for letting this all happen. When Darius pointed it out, I got a thousand times guiltier. I wish that I could go back to the past and change all those things that I did.
Just when I was regretting my past decisions, Darius entered my room. Is he here to criticize me even more?
"Celestia, I am sorry about what happened outside. I didn't really mean it," he said and took me by surprise. He sat beside me on my bed and patted Tangerine, who was lying on my lap.
"I know how hard it is to stay sane when a trickster constantly tempts you. I myself have experienced that in the past," he said.
I glanced at him in astonishment. "Someone tempted you?"
He nodded. "A Succubus from the Shadow realm haunted me for days," Darius confessed.
"What?!!!" I gasped. Succubus is a female demonic entity that seduces men from the side of light to darkness. It is said that a succubus repeatedly mates with its victims until they go entirely insane.
"How did you even survive such a thing?"
"I am not going to lie! At first, I enjoyed the pleasure the Succubus gave me," Darius sighed. "Then later, I felt guilty about the whole thing, and I began to look out for ways to come out of my sin. I was young, and I didn't dare say this to Father Oberon at that time."
"Then what happened?" I shouted out.
"I finally realized that evil began at my mind," Darius went on. "My mind was very feeble, and that is why I wasn't able to control the temptations. So I came up with a way to develop Psychic resistance naturally."
"And were you successful with that? Did you subdue the succubus?"
Darius smiled at my questions. "If I was not successful, then I would not have been here!"
"You are so great," I praised him.
"Celestia, it is also partly my fault that you were driven to the dark side. I should have taught you about Psychic resistance. I can teach you about it now, but it's too late. The damage is already done!" A sigh went out from his throat.
"So it is not entirely your fault, Celestia. I am responsible for this too. And I forbid you from breaking your vows. You are not going to battle with him directly," Darius instructed me.
"Then how are we going stop him?" I raised a question.
"There is always a way.. Holy Aiden would never let the darkness win," he responded.
