Forsaken By Love

After seeing Lin Xiulan stumble away, full of fear and embarrassment, He Lixue retracted her eyes and looked at the ugly face of Lu Nanfeng. It was clear that he was in a foul mood.

Sighing internally, He Lixue felt that it was better to make sure that his mood improved, and she took a few steps until she stood in front of him. Her hands reached out for his cheeks, and she squeezed them just as a grandmother would do to her grandchild.

"What's the purpose of looking so glum?" she asked, her face was full of a brilliant smile, and her eyes glistened like the stars in the night sky.

"Don't let unimportant people destroy your mood, are we not still together and undefeatable? Don't worry about any misunderstandings between us. I mean, honestly, who do you think I will believe between you and her? You are my hero while she is the villain. Only an idiot would believe in the villain over the hero!"

The more He Lixue spoke like this, the more amused Lu Nanfeng became, and soon his overcast mood turned clear, and a chuckle escaped his lips.

"Dearest, are you going to continue kneading my face like this?" he asked, as he looked at her, his eyes clearly saying that it was only natural for a man to spoil his woman like this. 

At the same time, Master Lu and Di Zhiqing were standing by the side looking at their son, who was close to blowing up in anger, being appeased by the little lady in such an amusing way.

Even Master Lu had to lift his hand to cover his smiling lips. It was quite an amusing sight.

The sight was also a shock to Di Zhiqing. He Lixue was nothing like what Lin Xiulan had said, and she began feeling disturbed.

Lin Xiulan was a girl she had seen grow up, but now she was starting to doubt her. It was a very uncomfortable feeling, a feeling like swallowing a fly, hard to accept. 

Originally it was easier to just trust anything that Lin Xiulan said without a doubt, but now she understood that things weren't exactly like that woman had told her. 

Perhaps she had been against He Lixue for no real reason? Thinking about how she had behaved, she even felt ashamed. She was a noble lady, but because of her fear for her son being hooked by a gold digger, she had truly forgotten her upbringing. 

Sighing, Di Zhiqing looked at the woman who was capable of making her son's mood improve by merely saying a few words, and she saw the adoration in the other's eyes. She knew that it was not fake, that He Lixue truly adored Lu Nanfeng, and that she was not with him purely because of his wealth.

Having realized this, her back stiffened, and she felt guilty. Although she always treated Lin Xiulan as her daughter, she was unwilling to see her son suffer.

The reason she could accept Lin Xiulan's unfaithfulness was because of the story she had spun about why she had been unfaithful. 

That it was because Lu Nanfeng had been indifferent to her, so she was heartbroken and went to drink. Then his enemy had targeted her, and tricked her, before forcing himself onto her. 

Di Zhiqing felt that such a situation was actually not Lin Xiulan's fault, that it was Lu Nanfeng who was partly to blame, as it was his enemy who had done this for the sake of getting back at him, but she did not know what really had happened that night.

The truth was that it was Lin Xiulan who had been trying to hit it off with the guy and that she was the one who had given him the idea of using her as a tool to get revenge on Lu Nanfeng. 

Lu Nanfeng was naturally aware of this, but he had no intention of telling his mother. He understood that she valued Lin Xiulan very much, and if he said this, she would be heartbroken. Although he was a cold person, he did not want to see his mother heartbroken, but now things were different.

"Father, I have something you need to show mother when you get home," Lu Nanfeng said coldly. "I am going to send it to you when I am back."

Master Lu nodded his head and looked at Lu Nanfeng, and He Lixue deeply. He knew that Lu Nanfeng was going to move against the Lin family when he had ensured that his mother had lost all faith in Lin Xiulan, so it was likely that what he was to show her would shock her world.

The two groups returned home to their respective homes, and Lu Nanfeng went straight for the study, where he turned on his laptop and sent a video to Master Lu.

The video was the bar's surveillance footage, where Lin Xiulan had hooked up with that guy.

Back then, Lu Nanfeng had investigated for the sake of seeing whether or not Lin Xiulan had been cheated. If it were not her fault, then he would naturally not blame her, no one can be blamed for being forced, but if it was her own mistake, then he would not be merciful.

He had also heard the story that Di Zhiqing told him, but reality proved to be quite different.

It was not only Master Lu, who was surprised that reality was so different from what they had been told, but Di Zhiqing was also shocked beyond measure.

She had been talking for Lin Xiulan for so long, been on her side, and tried to convince Lu Nanfeng to accept her back, but in fact, she was the one who willingly embraced another man while being with her son. 

Di Zhiqing finally felt that her heart was aching badly, and black dots appeared for her eyes. She staggered, and Master Lu caught her swiftly before he helped her sit down.

"I have wronged our son," Di Zhiqing said before tears began flowing down her cheeks.
