HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(RULES OF MIND)

Back to the Marquis residence, Vendia already inside her chamber. Undressing the clothes she wears, replace them with her sleeping clothes, then lays down on her bed and reminisces about what happened to her night until slumber pulls her into a warm deep sleep.

On the other location inside the Marquis residence, a man who wears a Marquis knight uniform is sitting at the beds with tears flowing to his eyes. Tears full of longingness and regret.

"Why I didn't confess my feelings for you before," Sir Aloit mumble as he grips tight into the bedsheet while his tears fall like raging water. His body shivered from much anger and pain as his breath fasten while his heartbeat with regrets.

"I should have become selfish before and keep you for myself. I should have. I should have. Maybe things will turn out different. I miss you so much," Sir Aloit continues crying as the memories of the past that full of guilt and regrets flooding back to him when he enters the late Marquis bedroom. He lay down, hugging the bed sheet to his chest.

'I'm sorry, I almost forgot the words I oath to you before. But if the time comes for me to join you without me knowing, please don't resent me for not fulfilling my promise to you,' Sir Aloit spoke to his thought as he continues mourning inside the late Marquis bedroom tell the exhaustion takes over his body, then meets the slumber too.

The morning comes. Sir Aloit felt heavy from sleeping in an uncomfortable position the whole night long. He stood out from the bed, stretching his arms, then went inside the bathroom, washing his face.

'Ugh... I cry a lot. I was right. No matter how many years have passed, the person who you truly love will always remain inside your heart and mind,' Sir Aloit thought.

"I'm sorry, but I still can't let you go," Sir Aloit mentions as he looks himself at the mirror for three seconds then went outside the bathroom while wiping his face with a towel.

On the other side of the room, Vendia lay on her bed full of peace and contentment for thirty minutes tell her door ring of two knocks, making her woke up and open her eyes.

"Miss? Are you already awake? Can I come in?" Mary asks as she stands outside the door, carrying Vendia's breakfast to her hands.

"Ma-mary, why are you still outside?" Yerre asks in her sleepy voice.

"Miss, I can't get inside because your door still lock," Mary responds, making Vendia shock.

'Lock? But wh-oh. I almost forgot I lock it before I went to meet Alda the other day,' Yerre thought.

"Okay, wait for a minute," she replied as she sat out to her bed, then stride to the door, letting Mary inside. When Mary got inside, she then places Vendia breakfast on the table.

"Did you just woke up now, Miss?" Mary asks upon seeing Vendia's tired eyes.

"Erm..." Yerre answer within her sleepy tone of voice. Mary giggled upon seeing her Miss cute reaction.

"I'm sorry to wake you up now, Miss, but I need to get you ready because Sir Aloit is already waiting for you outside our horse barn with his horse," Mary mentions as she helps Yerre to get ready for her morning today.

"What? Sir Aloit did? But why would he wait for me to the horse barn?" Vendia asks, shock.

"Sir Aloit told me you want to learn how to ride a horse. So today he will teach you about it," Mary answer.

"He what?" Yerre felt concerned.

'Oh, that. I almost forgot about that, but today I have plans with my best friend, Alda what should I do?' Yerre thought, worried.

"Did he already had breakfast?" She asks.

"Yes, he did, Miss," Mary answer as she helps Vendia with her hair, dress, and other necessary things.

"What about my mother and father?" Yerre asks.

"They already had their breakfast, Miss," Mary answer.

"I see why they didn't wait for me? Did something bad happened to our family business again?" Yerre asks, concern.

"No, nothing bad happened, Miss. The madam and the Master didn't wait for you today because they're busy with your family business," Mary responded.

"Are you sure that is all behind it? Nothing serious and all?" Yerre asks, still felt uncertain of what is happening today.

"Yes, don't worry. Miss, everything is fine," Mary answer with her assuring smile, making Yerre sigh in relief, but her heart still felt troubled because she worried Alda might wait for her to the Astrod forest for too long without knowing that she will never arrive there anymore.

"Okay," Yerre responds, smiling back at Mary.

"Done. You can eat your breakfast now, Miss," Mary mentions as she done helping Yerre dress up for today.

Yerre wears a white lace shirt, black leather, high-waist pants with six golden buttons to the front, then brown high knee synthetic leather boots with fastening zip and hair tied into a bond with two golden flower hairpins.

"Thank you, Mary," Yerre thank Mary for helping her and making her pretty today as she thinks deeply for three minutes about how she can make her best friend aware that she won't be going to the Astrod forest today because of the abrupt situation, without making things suspicious, then figured something.

'Mia,' She thought.

"Mary, can you call Mia for me? I have something for her to do," she mentions, making Mary curious, but Mary didn't ask any further questions and just left to follow her Miss request.

After Mary left her chamber, she then went to the couch and sat in front of the table where her breakfast was.

"Thank you for the food," Yerre mentions as she then digs in and eats her breakfast while waiting for Mary and Mia to arrive back to her room.

After thirty minutes, Mary and Mia then arrived in her room. She stops eating, drinks some water that Mary gets for her while she fetches Mia, then faces them.

"Mary, can you leave us for the meantime? I will make Mia call you back inside after I am done talking to her," Yerre request as Mary nod and didn't ask any more questions even though inside she felt worried and concern.

"Okay, Miss, I will wait outside the door," Mary answer as she replies to Yerre's request then leave.

"Do you need something from me, Miss?" Mia asks, curious.

"Yes, Lady Cathlen's maid told me you are her friend. Her name is Angela, right?" Yerre mentions which made Mia gasp, shock, and trembled from fear.

"Miss! I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean any harm. I'm not a spy, I'm not, Miss. Angela, she's only my childhood friend. We grow up together ever since our parents die because of incurable illness. Please, Miss, don't report me to the Master and the Madam. I love being part of the Marquis. Please, I can't lose this job. I don't have anywhere to go, please, Miss," Mia plead, panicking as she kneeled in front of Vendia, making Yerre surprised and uncomfortable.

"Mia, stand up," Yerre demands as she sighs, feeling bad about making Mia scared, and kneels in front of her.

"M-miss," Mia responds, still kneeling and trembling from fear as her tears now fall out to her eyes. Yerre stood out from her couch then assist Mia to stand up.

"Mia, I meant nothing about my words. But I wouldn't say that I didn't doubt you after I heard to Lady Cathlen that you and Angela were friends," Yerre mentions, holding Mia's shoulders with her hands.

"But, Miss," Mia looked at her in shock as her body still trembled and her tears continue flowing.

'How did you know?' Mia thought, curious.

"I know. You want to ask me, how did I know about this thing?" Yerre mentions, making Mia surprised.

"M-miss... I," Mia couldn't mumble the right words.

"I talk to Lady Cathlen the other day. I visit her without my parents knowing because I want to clarify something about her break engagement to the crown prince," Yerre explains, lying.

"I-I see," Mia reply.

"You can stop crying now. I didn't mean to scare you or made you kneel in front of me today. Seeing you confess today made my doubt fade away, but I want you to remember your words. You let go to me today, understand?" Yerre responds.

"Ye-yes, yes I will, Miss. Thank you, Miss," Mia almost kneels in front of Vendia again, but Yerre stops her before she could do it.

"I am happy that you have friends at the Duke residence because I want you to do something for me," Yerre mentions, which made Mia feel worried.

"What is it, Miss?" Mia asks as Yerre gives out a sweet smile.

"Don't worry. I won't ask you to spy on the Duke residence. I only want you to deliver a letter to Angela for Lady Cathlen," Yerre explains, making Mia sigh in relief and nod.
