HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(A VULNERABLE VILLAIN)

Marsha covered her mouth with her fist and apologized.

"I'm sorry,"

Kayla couldn't help but sigh, nod and say.

"It's all right."

"Mother, can I ask you the reason for their breaking engagement?" Marsha asked, curious. Kayla looked at her for a second, thinking about what she should reply to her until she decided to just close it with no other route.

"The Duke didn't tell me,"

"Ahh, I see," Marsha replied, nodding.

"Yes, now that you know about their relationships, you must refrain from asking questions that are unretable to her, understand?" Kayla advises her.

"Yes, I understand mother," Marsha replied as she gazed at Alda and said.

"It must be hard for her,"

Kayla heard her and couldn't help but laugh at Marsha's words inside her thoughts.

'Hahahahaha. Hard? It is more like relief, ' She wants to say these words outloud to Marsha, but she knows she can't. So, she only replied with a lie.

"Yeah, it must be,"

The road back through the Astrod land once again gets quiet and calm. While they ride back home in harmony, the others are running their lives with uncomfort. Inside the Marquis residence, Yerre is having tea time inside the green house with the new knight that Sir Aloit introduced the other day. She still feels awkward and uncomfortable in his presence all the time, but she can't complain or be picky because their situation has now become solemn. So all she can do is get along with the new knight that has been given to her and accept him as an elder brother.

She put her cup of tea on the steel table that had a glass Greek design, and called him over to stand beside her.

"Sir Lay, come here for a second,"

Sir Lay then didn't waste time and went beside her with confused innocent eyes and asked.

"What can I do for you, Lady Vendia?"

Yerre stood up from her chair and gave him a gentle smile as she replied.

"Join me, let's go ride our horse through the Astrod forest today. I want to go somewhere to ease my mind for a bit. " She said.

"Go wait for me at the horse barn," Yerre instructed, and Sir Lay didn't ask anymore questions and just proceeded to the barn.

Yerre then went back to Lady Vendia's chamber, got the white candle she asked Mary to buy in the town earlier, and got the matches that she also asked Mary to buy in the town and put them inside her dress pocket. After that, she then went to get a silk cloak and wore it to cover her body and face the sun.

Yerre decided to go to the place where Vendia took her last breath and light a white candle as she promised. When she was done settling herself, Yerre went outside her room and strided to the barn where Sir Lay was already waiting for her to arrive. It didn't take long for Yerre to arrive, and they then rode their horses to where Yerre wanted to go. Sir Lay rode his horse beside Yerre, securing her, because he knew Yerre still had not improved her way of riding a horse.

Before he could fulfill his duty as her knight. Sir Aloit already told him that Yerre was still not perfect in the way she rode her horse and that she still fell sometimes. So Sir Aloit mentioned to him that he should always be on her right side so that he could catch her at a fast speed if she fell.

On the way inside the forest, the trees' leaves keep falling one by one, making the scenery look like an autumn season while the birds and cicadas keep chirping like it's summer. The wind inside is calm and friendly. Yerre slows her pace of riding her horse as she wonders her eyes through every corner and path they pass through. The path they took was filled with different morning flowers and berries that some were not suitable for eating. There are many different kinds of mushrooms that circle through the trees inside the forest too. But some kinds are also poisonous and can't be eaten.

Yerre looked up to see the high scenery inside the forest and saw the calm green leaves of the trees swinging in the wind like they were dancing. The scenery and calm environment made Yerre feel at ease and relaxed. She spread her arms, closed her eyes while looking up, and breathed in and out the relaxing sensation of the wind brushing through her face, arms, and body while hearing the rhythm of the forest.

Sir Lay, who was riding a horse beside her, only looked at her in awe and surprise, thinking about what she was doing. But he didn't bother to ask as he thought that maybe it was her first time experiencing the outdoors. Yerre opened her eyes, still looking up with a smile, and turned to look at Sir Lay, who was also looking at her in surprise.

"Yes, Miss?" Sir Lay asked. Yerre gave out a gentle smile and replied.

"The weather is great today. Don't you think? Sir Lay? "

Her words made Sir Lay dumbfounded and buffered for a minute, then understood.

"Is this the first time you've been outdoors?" he asked. Yerre chuckled at him and said.

"No, this is not my first time. Sir Aloit and I do a lot of outdoor stuff. Sigh, this made me miss him so much, haha, "" Sigh, this made me miss him so much, haha, " "Sigh, this made me miss him so much, haha," "Sigh, this made me miss him so much, haha," "Sigh, this made me miss him so much, haha,"

Seeing Yerre's reaction made Sir Lay think that he should not have asked that kind of question, and now Yerre's cheerful mood has become sad and out of the weather.

"What about you Sir Lay? Is this your first time entering the Astrod forest? " Yerre asked, changing her mood to a sunny one, while Sir Lay kept observing her expressions and reply.

"No,"

"I see," Yerre replied, not surprised, because she knew Prince Albert and Prince Adam were cousins. It is already obvious that Prince Albert's people have already entered the Astrod forest. After their short conversation, the rhythm of the forest became loud again. Yerre looked for a topic for her and Sir Lay to talk about before they arrived at the place she wanted to go to and found one.

"Sir Lay, did you hunt animals for food?" She asked out of nowhere, curious. Sir Lay looked straight at her, thinking for a while before answering.

"Yes, but only for those edible. Why? "

"Nothing, I'm just curious because I feel pity for those animals that get captured and killed for the price of money without considering their lives," Yerre answered.

"Well, when the time of desperation comes, people can't help but commit a sin by killing those innocents for them to survive," Sir Lay responded, which made Yerre stunned and realize.

"Yeah, your right Sir Lay,"

Yerre didn't want to ask anymore questions about Sir Lay, then she looked straight at the path they were heading. After two to three seconds of riding their horses, they arrived in front of a gigantic tree that was abundant and surrounded by lavender flowers. Sir Lay jumped down from his horse and went over to Yerre to help her leap down from her horse also.

"Thank you, Sir Lay," Yerre thanked him for his help. Upon arriving at such a place, Yerre can't help but feel surreal and familiar. This is where she woke up and was given a life as a villain. She sighed and went close to the gigantic tree. The trees are filled with scented flowers that are almost the same color as Vendia's hair.

Sir Lay looks at Yerre while observing the sound of the surroundings that they are in. Yerre put out a white, medium-sized candle and matches. After that, she then finds a clean and safe place to put the candle without causing a fire in the forest.

She found one and it was on the right side, three meters away from the tree. She went there and lit up the candle using the matches, then put it down on the clean ground she found. After putting it on the ground, she then kneeled down, closed her eyes and made her hands position for prayer. She prays in silence in front of the candle.

'I hope and wish for Vendia's next life to be filled with love, laughter, warmth, and justice,' she said as a sincere smile formed on her lips.

When she is at it, Sir Lay can't help but look at her in a strange way as he wonders, what is she doing on the dirty ground kneeling and praying? He wanted to ask, but he couldn't because he felt if he did, he might disturb her or make her feel offended. Sir Lay didn't have any idea what she was doing. All he knew was that he also wanted to know what she was doing.

Yerre opened her eyes and stood up to the ground, with no thought that Sir Lay was looking at her with curious eyes and a concerned feeling over her. She looked at the candle that was already lit, swinging as the light and gentle wind passed through the place. Then she turned to look at Sir Lay, only to see that Sir Lay was looking at her with such curious and concerned eyes.
