HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(AWAKEND FEELINGS)

Yerre stood still in her position as she thought.

'... ah, right. Sir Lay I almost forgot. He must be wondering why I am kneeling and praying on the ground in front of the lit candle, '

Yerre thought of words on how to explain what she did earlier to Sir Lay by forming lies inside her words. She stride over to Sir Lay and said.

"I apologize. Did I make you feel weird, Sir Lay? " She paused and waited for Sir Lay to respond, but he only looked straight at her with no sign of replying. So, Yerre continued elaborating on the weird thing she did earlier to Sir Lay.

"Is this the first time seeing a person kneeling down to the ground in front of a lit candle and praying inside the forest Sir Lay?" She asked pausing for his reply again but still received nothing. So she continued.

"Well, I will tell you some secrets about our family, Sir Lay," she turned her back to him, facing the surroundings filled with all kinds of flowers, and said.

"This is where I decided to take my life, but my attempt failed because I saw my father and mother's eyes filled with fear. A fear of losing their own daughter, and a fear of holding their daughter's lifeless body in their arms. This place made me realize and change the way I look at myself and the world. In short, this place is my starting point to live out through darkness, "

Yerre could not find the words to lie to Sir Lay, so she decided to tell him the truth words combined with the real Vendia feelings. Then the stiff winds passed through as she said those words, making the atmosphere emotional and heavy. She turned back to look at him with a thankful smile and said.

"What I did today is simply give thanks to this place for giving me a second chance to live again. I know it is weird and I know you won't understand what I mean, but I don't care because I only need and want myself to understand it, "

Sir Lay felt sentimental upon hearing Yerre's explanation and couldn't help but feel empty inside his mind. He did not know what to say or respond to the surprise information he heard about the lady he served today. It was so shocking for him.

He only knows tiny details about the real Vendia incident through their master. He does not know the whole story behind the Lady Vendia incident. But hearing such words come from the lady he serves today, made him stunned and lose words. He can't believe that someone would actually choose to kill themselves after losing the person they love to someone else. This left him feeling shocked and disappointed.

Sir Lay's eyes glimmered with sadness for her and she saw it. Yerre chuckled as she went over to Sir Lay's side, patted his shoulder, then showed a relief smile and said.

It's okay, Sir Lay. That was past now and this is now my present. I only came here to thank this place for everything. Thank you for accompanying me today. Lets go back home now, "

Sir Lay looked straight at her for a minute with wondering eyes, then nodded and didn't say anything else other than that. He was very lost of words and what to do. He stayed in his position for a second until he gained some sense back to himself, then leapt back to his horse. After that, they then ride back home in silence.

On the way out, it is silent but comfortable. Ever since Yerre's confession to Sir Lay, no one ever talks. Everything turned quiet but peaceful. There were no heavy feelings or worries. It is only a warm feeling. Because of this event, Yerre at last felt comfortable and used to having Sir Lay beside her as her knight. The wind passes through the other side, making the other person aware of who is coming.

Not long after the two of them finally went out into the forest, Sir Lay then saw two people on horseback somehow waiting for someone. Sir Lay immediately used his horse to block Yerre from moving further to the front, which made her surprised and ask in worry.

"Sir Lay? Is everything all right? "

She could not finish her words upon hearing a deep, gentle, and familiar voice five meters away from them calling out Vendia's name.

'Prince Adam? Why is he here? How did he know I was here? ' Yerre thought as she got stiff in her position for a minute with an anxious expression. Sir Lay turned to look at her and saw her uncomfortable expression and uneasy eyes.

It's okay, miss. I am here. I will handle everything, "Sir Lay mentions, making Yerre look straight at him with wide eyes and a relieved expression.

Sir Lay was also already aware of their relationship because of Prince Albert and Sir Aloit. They mentioned and warned him before he took on the task as Yerre knight. It is a good way to start the day. He turned to look at the two unexpected people, then saw that they were starting to move further close to getting to where they were. Sir Lay immediately stopped them from getting close to their area and said.

"Greetings, your highness and Sir Ken," he paused, giving a vow of respect, then continued as he looked straight at them with a straight face.

"I apologize on behalf of our miss. Your highness, she could not entertain you for a while. "Yerre was shocked and relieved at the same time. Sir Lay and Prince Adam had already known each other ever since he met his cousin again at her mother's funeral, and so he was never surprised to see him, but he was curious about why he was here guarding Vendia.

Sir Lay stopped his horse from moving further as he heard Sir Lay's words, then asked.

"Greetings to you too, Sir Lay." May I ask why you are here? "

Sir Lay looked straight at him with the same expression and replied.

"His highness sent me here to become Lady Vendia knight,"

"I see. So Sir Aloit sought help from him. Am I right? " Prince Adam asked Sir Lay, but Sir Lay didn't answer, because Prince Albert told him to shut his mouth and never say a word to anyone except his subordinates and related parties. Prince Adam waited for his reply but got none, and he understood why. No matter how much his cousin trusts him, there are still limits. He sighs and looks straight at Sir Lay's left side, where Yerre is hiding with her horse. It is a good way to start the day.

"I didn't come here to say uncomfortable words to you. I am here because I am worried, "

Upon saying such words, Yerre couldn't help but look straight at the back of Sir Lay and think.

'His what? Worried? But why? '

Yerre can't help but feel curious and wants to ask about his words, but she knows she can't do that. She promised Vendia and Alda that she wouldn't entertain or be close to him. So she stopped her thoughts from lingering too far and stayed put at her usual place, as if she hadn't heard his words at all. Prince Adam and the others waited for her to respond, but she said nothing.

Prince Adam felt dejected and disappointed, but he knew why Vendia was being like this to him, and it was only fair because he had also been ignoring her in the past, as if she had never existed. He isolated her from his life with no formal explanation and rejection. He sighed in distress and decided to continue his words. He wanted her to know with no expectation of a reply.

"I didn't hear the reason behind it, because I was back here thinking about how you would react to it, and it happened that Sir Ken saw you both entering the Astrod forest earlier, so I ended up waiting for you here," Prince Adam explained, making Yerre's eyes glaze over.

"How's Prince Albert? Why did he go back to Alfendra? Is something bad happening to their kingdom? " Yerre finally responded to him, but her words were unexpected. That made him feel somehow jealous and even more distressed. Prince Adam showed a forced smile and replied.

"His fine, but about the Alfendra kingdom. I don't know if something has happened because I ran back here to you. "

"I see," Yerre responded, sighing in relief as he heard Prince Adam's reply, but that relief she felt didn't last long. She couldn't help but feel bad inside her heart because she wanted to reply to every word Prince Adam said to her, but the thought of Vendia and Alda made her think otherwise and stay put. She sighed and told Sir Lay to move forward.

"Sir Lay, let us go,"

Upon saying the commanding words, Sir Lay then nodded and started to move his horse at a slow pace, matching it to Yerre's horse movement as he stayed on her left side, covering her from Prince Adam's view. Prince Adam looked at them as they started to move their horses again and wanted to go closer to them, but he stopped himself and said something that made Yerre stunned and feel guilty inside her heart.
