HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(EXCUSE TO SORROW)

Inside Prince, Adam's garden is full of many entertaining things. First are flowers that give a wonderful mixed scent of aroma and color inside, second is the butterflies and a sparrow bird flying free inside his house garden. The lasting to see inside his house garden are the two gigantic cherry blossom trees, small waterfalls, and a pond that will make you relaxed and out of stress, but for Alda is the opposite.

One butterfly that has a color of fire landed on her left shoulder. She looked over at it and blew it away from her, annoyed.

"I see you hate butterflies," Prince Adam mentions as he saw Cathlen with a frown expression when she blew the butterflies away a second ago. They are now sitting inside the house garden guess room.

'Yeah, I do and even you,' Cathlen thought.

"Not really. I like butterflies. I only blew them away from me because I don't want my dress to get dirty. My servant works hard cleaning it for me, so why should I let dirt on it?" Cathlen responds, wearing her usual expression.

"I see you appreciate your servant very well,"

"Yeah, they're not servant to me. Because for me, my servant is also my family," Cathlen mentions, and Prince Adam looks at her for a second, surprised by her words, then smiles at her.

"You're are such a humble and kind person. That is why I like and loved you," Prince Adam compliment Cathlen, trying to open up the conversation about their engagement, but Cathlen didn't reply. Cathlen seems to avoid Prince Adam's affection as she takes her teacup, and the servants pour tea for her, then she drinks it.

Silence filled the air after, and Prince Adam felt disappointed upon not receiving a reply from her, but he didn't want to give up. So he convinces himself to try it again.

"I thought you hate them for a second there," Prince Adam replies.

"Who?" Cathlen looks at him, confused.

"The butterflies," Prince Adam responds.

"Why would I? They didn't do anything wrong. The butterflies only landed on me, and they help the natural habitat to circulate, so how could I hate such helpful creatures?" Cathlen responds.

"Your right," Prince Adam agreed, smiling at her.

"How long should we wait for the dance instructor to arrive? I have another thing to do later," Cathlen asks, impatient.

"Oh, you're busy?" Prince Adam asks.

'No, but I don't want to stay here long with you,' She thought.

"Yes, I do. I only come here attending the King's request," Cathlen responds, making Prince Adam feel sad and hurt by her words, but he didn't show his emotion to her.

"The dance instructor will be here any minute now," Prince Adam reply, smiling.

"Okay," Cathlen brief reply, making the room silent again.

"Do you like the things I prepare for you today?" Prince Adam asks, and Cathlen looks at her.

"Yes, thank you for preparing it, but next time you don't have to do this kind of thing for me," Cathlen respond.

"Huh? Why you don't like it?" Prince Adam looks at her, worried.

"I like it. I'm only concern because you prepare a lot and we can't finish it all by ourselves so there will be many leftover foods that will go to waste and I feel unpleasant knowing that there will be foods that will go to waste. Many people are starving every day because what they earn is not enough to feed their families. You must put consideration and value to the food, even if you are a royal person," Cathlen lecture him, and Prince Adam felt a bit hurt by her words, but he knows she only means good on it, but somehow his heartfelt heavy because he felt everything he does for Cathlen is not being appreciated by her anymore.

"Why you're like this to me," Prince Adam asks in between his sad voice, wearing a distressed expression. Cathlen only looks at her with a plain face as she put down her teacup, still full of tea.

"Leave us for a while," Cathlen motion to all the servants inside the room as they all nod and bowed, then leave the room. Both of them are now alone inside the house garden.

A suffocating silence then filled the room for a second until Prince Adam broke down the silence first, and in front of Cathlen, he burst out like a lion, letting all his hidden emotions out. The birds inside the room flew away crying because of surprised by Prince Adam's voice.

"Why you let them go. Let all our people see! Let them watch me breaking in front of you! That is what you want, right? Embarrassing me in front of my people. Watching me breaking down and lose control!" Prince Adam mentions as he stood up to his chair.

"Calm down, Your Highness. You're a Prince. Maintain your composure," Cathlen responds in a calm tone of voice.

"Ha! What did I do wrong? Tell me, because I'm confused right now. Why are you hurting me like this without explaining to me the reason? Why are you acting like this without making things clear to me first? I'm confused. You isolate me in your life without even thinking twice? You know I loved you, right?" Prince Adam, crying mess in front of her. Cathlen looks straight at him with the same expression with a deep sigh.

"I know... but I don't love you," Cathlen confess. Prince Adam looks at her, shocked as tears fall into his cheeks like a waterfall flowing non-stop.

'Is true. I don't love you. I know Cathlen does because, without a doubt, you both are the main cast of the story. You both will be together till the very end but not me, I'm Alda, and the person I only love is my best friend, Yerre,'

"Wh-what? But you also said that you love me..." Prince Adam mentions.

"Are you sure? Why I can't remember that I do?" Cathlen reply grinning as Prince Adam then looks at her with deep thought, searching through his old memories to see if he's right that Cathlen says I loved you back to him for two minutes, but after two minutes, he ended up with nothing. Prince Adam went deaf. He can't believe that the only person who falls in love is only him. His heart felt heavier as the vigorous pressure of an invincible knife struck into his heart, making him feels the invisible pain inside his heart.

"Are you saying that you only accept our engagement because of my father's power?" Prince Adam asks within his sobs.

"Now you become clever," Cathlen responds with a smile.

"But you said before that you accept the marriage proposal without an ulterior motive,"

"And you believe that?" Cathlen reply with a mocking face.

'I'm sorry. I know the real Cathlen loved you from what I only remember inside the book, but I'm not Cathlen. My name is Alda, and I only need one person in my heart. I'm sorry, but I have to do this, or else everything will only get complicated,' Alda thought, feeling sorry for Prince Adam.

"Even if I won't throw you aside right now, you will still get hurt because Cathlen body will disappear like a bubble once I have the lamp in my hand because I will change it into a man, and you will live thinking that Cathlen only went missing for long years, which is not true because Cathlen already died a long time ago and the person in front of you now is me, Alda who is inside your fiance body," She mumbles. Prince Adam did not hear her mumbling, for he's crying mess.

"Leave now... you don't have to worry about my father's request. I will handle it," Prince Adam firm demands as he looks down to the ground with a trembling body, still crying and feeling hurt.

"Okay, but before I go. I want to request one thing from you," Cathlen mentions, but Prince Adam didn't reply. So she continues on her words.

"Stop monitoring me now and forget what you feel about me. Turn it into a dream is time to let go of everything we shared upon, so you will meet a girl who can give what I can't give to you. Take care," Cathlen mentions as she then strides away from Prince Adam going out from the house garden.

"Young Miss?" The Knight saw her go out from Prince Adam's house garden. But something is wrong.

"Miss? Are you all right? Why are you crying?" The Knight asks, concern. Cathlen looks straight at him with a surprised expression.

'Crying?' She wonders as she holds her face using her right hand and felt a wet sensation on her cheeks.

"I am crying..." She admits, shocked, then realizes something.

'Cathlen... I'm sorry...' She apologies to the owner of the body as she let the tears fall into her cheeks like a flowing river while walking to get out of the Prince Palace. When she is almost at the gate, Angela arrived full of happiness, carrying a painting that only has a salvia flower.

"Miss? What happened? Why are you crying?" Angela's happiness turned to worry as she went close to Cathlen consulting her.

"I-is nothing, come on. Let's hurry back home," Cathlen responds while keep wiping the tears that won't stop flowing into her cheeks. Angela looks at her full of concern as they get inside the carriage and ride back home.

After two hours they arrived, Duke Thranduil and Duchess Aerwen went to greet her upon coming back home to their front door with a smile. But when Cathlen gets inside their mansion with Angela, all their smiles turned to worry.

"I won't eat dinner. I am tired. I want to rest for now. I don't want to be disturbed," Cathlen demands as she passes through her parents, still crying. The Duke and Duchess then look over to Angela with a question expression.

"I also don't know what happened," Angela answers them as Duke Thranduil and Duchess Aerwen then look at each other wearing an anxious expression.

Inside Cathlen chamber, she lay down to her bed while letting the tears fall into her tears as she deep sighs.

"All of this will be over tomorrow. I'm sorry again Cathlen, I know you loved the Prince, but I need to do this. I'm so sorry," Alda talks to herself as tears keep flowing to her cheeks non-stop.
