HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(THE COLLATERAL MEASURE)

"Mary, is that you?" Vendia mentions.

"Yes, Miss, is me," Mary respond outside the door as Lord Marthen and Madam Rose then went over to the door and open it.

"Good morning, Mary," Madam Rose mentions, giving out a caring smile as she holds on to her husband's left arm using her right arm. Mary looks at them, surprised.

"Madam! L-lord Marthen," Mary stutter upon replying to them as she bowed to them with respect. Madam Rose giggled.

"Mary, did you already eat breakfast?" Lord Marthen asks, concern for his servant's wellness.

"Yes, I already eat breakfast. Thank you for your concern. My lord and Madam," Mary respond while looking at the floor.

"Raise your head, Mary, there's no need for you to be so formal," Madam Rose demands as Mary nod and raises her head then look straight at them.

"Sir Aloit told us everything that happened. How's the wound in your right arm?" Lord Marthen asks concern as Mary looks at them with a plain expression.

"Is already fine, My Lord," Mary answer.

"That's good. I'm glad you are okay," Madam Rose mentions as Mary nods.

"The person you fought that night is very skilled in fighting," Lord Marthen mentions as Mary nod at them again.

"Yes, I'm sorry, My Lord and Madam, for I let the man whom I fought escape with the physician's dead body that night. Because of me, the Marquis could get in danger at any minute now," Mary mentions, disappointed in herself right now.

"Is okay, Mary is not your fault. You don't know that man is behind you. So don't blame yourself for it, as for the coming judgment. Don't worry, we will handle it," Madam Rose responds as Mary sigh in relief upon hearing them forgive her mistakes.

"Yes, don't worry so much about what happened. Get change after you attend to Vendia need. Join us today to the town," Lord Marthen mentions as Mary looks at them with a buffering eye.

"We want you to accompany Vendia to the party later tonight because we might meet some people who are a part of our business and alliance," Madam Rose mentions as she showed a gentle smile to Mary.

"Yes, we are afraid that we can't look after her when that happened, so we want you to be there as her support and guard," Lord Marthen mentions.

"But, what about Sir Aloit?" Mary asks.

"He will come too," Madam Rose answers, and Mary looks at them confused.

'If Sir Aloit will come, why do I have to come too?' Mary thought.

"Jaja, you look confused right now," Lord Marthen figured.

"Yes, I am, My Lord," Mary responds, not denying it.

"As you can see, Vendia hasn't gained all her memory back yet, and we are afraid that something will happen everywhere she goes, also adding the situation that happened to the Voldrone land, we are afraid that our enemy could be anywhere," Lord Marthen mentions.

"Yes, so, were measuring her protection for now and as for Sir Aloit. He can't accompany Vendia to a room where only girls are allowed. However, you, on the other hand, can, so," Madam Rose explains as Mary then understands, nodding.

"I understand. I will do what you want me to do, Madam and Lord Marthen," Mary respond, responding to their request.

"Thank you, Mary," Lord Marthen thanking her.

"Mother? Father? What are you guys talking about over there? Is everything all right?" Vendia calls inside her chamber, concern as she saw her parents are still at her door talking to Mary.

"Oh, is nothing, sweetheart," Madam Rose replies as they then go out to their daughter's chamber, closing the door.

"We see you later, Mary," Lord Marthen mentions, then Mary nods as a reply, and they leave after to go to the dining room.

"Miss, I'm entering," Mary called from outside the door.

"Okay," Vendia respond, and Mary then went inside her chamber, helping her change into a comfortable white off-shoulder dress and fixed her hair.

In the hallway, Madam Rose and Lord Marthen are walking while wearing a plain expression.

"Why you didn't open up to her," Lord Marthen ask.

"For what? I don't want her to feel pressure and stress over things that she does not want us to know yet. I don't want to force our daughter. I want her to tell us within her own will," Madam Rose answer.

"You are right, but we need to talk to her so we can help her because if we let it just that, I am afraid something will happen to her again that we will never know, just like what happened in the forest where I found her and..." Lord Marthen stop in the middle of the sentence can't go on because his wife has stopped walking.

"Stop mentioning that time again. I don't want to think about it anymore," Madam Rose demand within her trembling voice as her husband felt guilt upon bringing the worst memory they had of their daughter.

"I'm sorry, don't worry. I won't mention those things again," Lord Marthen apologize and swore to his wife as Madam Rose deep sigh then smiles at her husband.

"Come on. The food is waiting," Madam Rose mentions as she clings to her husband's left arm, and they continue walking to get to the dining room.

Back at Vendia chamber Mary already finishes tidying her up as she then hurried up, striding over to the dining room with Mary tailing her through the hallway.

"Mary, why is Sir Aloit still not here? Is he busy about something?" Vendia asks, wondering as they continue walking.

"Oh, he went to the town, Miss," Mary mentions as she looks at her, surprised.

"To the town? Why?" She asks, curious.

'To check if what he suspects is right,' Mary thought.

"He went to buy some suit for the party later tonight," Mary answer.

"Alone?"

"Yes, why, Miss?"

"Why he didn't wait for us? He could have just joined us today in town," Vendia mentions, somehow disappointed.

"Oh, Sir Aloit still has some business to do after buying his suit, Miss, that is why he didn't bother to join you all to the town today," Mary replied.

"Business? What kind of business?" Vendia asks, worried.

"I don't know, Miss. I forgot to ask," Mary answer lying to her as Vendia sigh, worried.

"Don't worry, Miss. I'm sure it's not a dangerous business," Mary trying to calm her miss thoughts down.

"Yeah, your right," Vendia respond, smiling at Mary as they then stop in front of the dining door.

"The young miss has arrived," Mary announces outside the door as the door to the dining room, then opened by the two servants.

"Good morning, Miss," they greet her while bowing to her as she also greets them back and smiles at them.

"Enjoy your breakfast, Miss, I'll be going now," Mary mentions as Vendia nod then leave to go back to her work.

"Come, sweetheart sits beside mother," Madam Rose calls out to her as she smiles then went over to them, sitting beside her mother.

"Chef Andria bake your favorite dessert today. You should thank her later, okay?" Lord Marthen mentions as she looks at her plate, who has a strawberry cake and many other kinds of dessert that Vendia loves and she also loves.

'My God, yes,' She thought with a sparkle, heart eyes loving what her eyes, seeing in front of her.

"This is so eye-catching and mouth drooling," She mentions as Madam Rose giggled at her daughter's cute compliment to the food that Chef Andria bake for her.

"It is," Madam Rose inserted.

"I will thank her later, father," She mentions, happy and excited to eat the dessert in front of her. But she knows she needs to eat proper meals first before eating dessert. Because if you eat dessert without eating an actual meal first, it can cause terrible results for your health, just like what Mary said before to her.

At the town, Sir Aloit hops down from his horse in the front of-the-art store wearing a pressing expression. When he enters inside, he waits for the last customer to get out and then rash over to Sir Albert as he grabs his neck tight, making Sir Albert surprised, his breath hitch from surprise.

"Si-sir Alo-mg…- wha," Sir Albert, having a hard time spitting out his words because of Sir Aloit's tight grip on his neck, choking him. Sir Aloit looked straight at him with a rage expression and said.

"I thought I already told you that our trip was supposed to be private. Why did you hire someone to follow us? What are your intentions, ha! TELL ME!" Sir Aloit shouts within his raging voice as Sir Albert looks at him with a struggling expression. His complexion is becoming pale because of Sir Aloit's tight grip on his neck.

"Le-let me-ack! Let me go fir-ug," Sir Albert pleads as he's having a hard time talking and breathing while Sir Aloit looks at him with a glare for two minutes. Sir Aloit breath tremble from the anger he felt towards Sir Albert.
