Help! I'm In Love With A Liar

Three more months had passed since the previous episode. I had started spending quite a long time talking to Wang, over phone. We would often spend time alone before and after the coaching, without anybody's knowledge. I never had any reluctance in telling my friends specially Biyu and Chunhua, but Wang insisted that we keep our private lives to ourselves. He opined that we need not tell them about us meeting all alone, as this would invigorate unnecessary questions. I agreed to him and never told anybody about our phone conversations or meetings.

So one day while having dinner with Chunhua, she initiates a conversation about my calls with Wang.

"So, what's the name of the guy you talk to?" She said inquisitively, gorging herself with noodles.

"Smith," I lied to her.

"Ok, I hope you are not lying to me," she said sternly.

"What do you mean?" I confronted.

"I don't know. Everybody feels that you talk to Wang and you even meet him without Biyu's knowledge," she shrugged.

"I don't get this," I put down my spoon. "Why can't we leave this topic and what's wrong with me talking to anybody? Besides, why is it such a big deal?" I snapped angrily at her.

Chunhua was tight-lipped for a minute.

"Don't get angry. It's just that if you are talking to Wang, then Biyu and Changying will not like it. That's it," she compelled.

"This discussion is over Chunhua and I am not lying to you," I said trying to control my annoyance.

I wanted to tell Chunhua but Wang told me not to do that. I planned to talk to Wang about it. I wanted to ask him, if I could just tell Chunhua about it. I was surprised to know that everybody was talking about it. I failed to understand why it was such a major issue for everybody? Even if I talk to Wang, why would Biyu and Changying not like it? Maybe they were also possessive friends like Chunhua, I thought. Maybe that's the reason Wang never wanted to tell anybody. Maybe he was waiting for the right opportunity to tell them, I thought.
