Help! I'm In Love With A Liar
Chapter 37:'We Have To Tell You Something'
Two days passed and I returned to my normal routine. My blood tests were normal and the doctor was quite sure that the fainting was due to less eating. The doctor advised me to undergo an ultra sound, to rule out any underlying heart problem.
After the ultra sound, the doctor informed, "There is definitely no issue with the heart but I can see a huge mass in your right breast. So I would suggest you to undergo some further tests regarding this."
Her words petrified me.
"So, this was the reason of fainting," I questioned.
"No, I do not think so. It was due to low sugar levels. But I am glad due to your fainting, we discovered the lump," she said pleasantly.
I could see panic on my mom's face.
There were a series of tests which I underwent in the next two days. The X-Ray, mammography, the needle test and CT scan. I was not giving it a much thought and was not even bothered to know the outcome. I preferred not to tell Wang any of this. I feared he would have rushed back. He was truly eager to spend time with his dad and I did not want to ruin it.
The next day my dad came home at around noon and my sister too came to see me. That was quite unusual because my dad never came home, untimely. Amelia too, had no plans to visit any soon.
"We have to tell you something. Listen to us very calmly", my dad said sounding extremely serious.
I had already figured out, it was something, concerning my reports.
"All your reports came this morning and it says that you have breast cancer," dad revealed, with teary eyes.
His words knocked me like a hard blow in my gut. I had no words to utter and I stood there lifeless. They all hugged me tightly. I did not have the heart to ask him anything. A series of questions were piercing my mind. Was I going to die? But I am just 21, how can I possibly have cancer? Is it going to be painful? I could sense my whole body getting numb. I had witnessed so many deaths around me and majority of them were caused by cancer.
"We are going to Beijing tomorrow and will be shifting to our house there, for some time," said my dad.
None of us could sleep that night. We had an early morning flight and directly proceeded to "The Life Care" hospital, famous for the best cancer treatment. We were scheduled to meet Dr. Kuan Huang, the eminent cancer specialist of the country. He was also the owner of the "Life Care", a chain of hospitals.
"Such a bright and beautiful girl," the doctor beamed looking at me. I knew, he was just trying to lighten up my mood. He was a middle aged man with an amazing personality and great articulation skills.
I simply nodded at him.
