HOTD: Legacy

Nick decided to only take his team with him. Nick exited the base and headed towards the explosion site.

Rika: Park the car slightly away from the explosion, we need to first check the situation.

Nick: I have also thought that.

Nick drove the car through the car littered roads, the zombies were currently heading towards the explosion site. Nick reached the place and saw the flames still rising from the place. Saeko grabbed Nick's sleeve and pointed her hand towards a tall building nearby.

Nick nodded in understanding and headed towards that building. Nick drove the Typhoon VDV through the glass gates of the building and only stopped before the stairs.

Nick: Saeko-chan, if you may...

Nick didn't even need to finish the sentence and Saeko jumped out of the car and killed a few zombies that were there. Saeko took the lead while the rest of the team gathered in the middle. They have done this a lot of times and now they are already accustomed to it. Seeing Saeko kill zombies in her ever-fluid motion always have sight for Nick, he would never get tired of this. Currently, he had four wives and each one of them had a unique feature. Saeko's was quite obvious, Saya was for her smarts, Shizuka was for her airheadedness, and the hardworking nature of Shion.

After climbing about fourteen floors they cloud clearly see the explosion site, Nick and his group headed towards the glass windows. Nick thought the wall was coming in his way so ripped apart the wall. It was quite a shocking sight, but it was a quite common sight for Nick's group.

Kohta: What the hell happened here??

Misuzu: Seeing all this... I think someone caused the explosion.

All of looked over the road completely littered with barrels. It was obvious that someone filled them with fuel and dropped them here before blowing them up. The fire was still there and the zombies getting burned. It was quite a brilliant idea as they diverted the zombies to other and area along with killing them.

Nick: But I don't see the reason why is someone doing this...

Toshimi: Nick-Kun, you aren't local so you might not know everything here... there might be some places which need this kind of diversion...

Nick: Then I am depending on you guys...

Nick knew that Toshimi was right, there might be someplace which he didn't know because he wasn't a local. All of them started to wrack their brains. None of them could remember anything so Nick took out his walkie talkie and contacted the base. He asked Yuriko and Shion about this. If these two can't find anything in this place then it is obvious that there isn't anything here.

Shion: I might know... there is a food processing plant there... well it is quite hidden so not everyone knows about that. I know about that because there were quite a lot of petitions about that company.

Nick: I know that I was asking the right person.

Shion then told Asami about the place, Nick left with the team and drove the vehicle out of the building and Asami gave him the directions. They reached the place and saw that their guess was quite alright. There were 3 trucks there, just standing there without anyone inside or guarding it. Nick could have easily sensed them if they were there.

Nick: Somethings wrong here... I can't feel any life signals.

Nick didn't say it out loud, Nick quietly whispered into Saeko ears. Saeko was also thinking the same. Her perception level was insane too and she also couldn't feel anyone in that place. It is always probable that she might have missed someone who is trying to hide but if they could hide from Nick then you can be the greatest assassin in the world. Nick saw that the gate was still open, Saeko again took the front and immediately pointed to a dead man. The man was clawed, all the humans gulped hard after seeing the body.

Asami: I think I know him...

Nick: Eh... was he your friend?

Asami shook her head in denial and calmed herself down. Even if they were not your friend but some of your acquaintance dye like that is always disturbing. Seeing Asami's reaction Kohta also perked up. Nick of course noticed his action and decided to ask later that if he had any progression or not.

Asami: No... no... nothing like that. He was in my class at the academy.

Nick saw Kohta released a sigh of relief, Nick decided to tease him later maybe give him some tips. But thinking about what Asami said and decided to head inside for now. Soon voices of crying became clear, everyone except Rika already knew what this way. Rika was about to do the same mistake Shion did but Nick grabbed her arm stopping her.

Rika: What are you doing?? Someone might need help...

Kohta: Rika-san, that's a zombie and be of the most dangerous one.

Saeko: I always wanted to kill these... last time it was a slight challenge I have to agree, Nick-Kun, let me take care of it...

Nick: Of course be my guest.

Rika couldn't even imagine how this can be a zombie but then suddenly remembered the description of evolved zombies and then it dawned on her brain that it must be a Witch. Saeko didn't wait for anymore moment and rushed into the room. They heard a loud screech and the next instant a thud sound was heard. Everyone was tense except Nick because they thought that Saeko might die. The heard another light thud sound coming towards the gate and a head rolled and hit the door. It was the Witch's head. Saeko walked out of the room and blood was still dripping from her sword.

Nick: I hope it wasn't a challenge?

Saeko: It wasn't... the only challenge is that it is really fast and bulletproof but you can always cut off the head.

Everyone sweatdropped after hearing that. Everyone cursed Saeko's description. They weren't fast and fluid-like Saeko and they couldn't shrug off a Witch as Saeko or Nick could do. But lastly, they couldn't do anything since all of them knew that Nick had superpowers and Saeko was to say quite Master in Swordsmanship.

Nick: Now, let's head inside...

After saying that Nick followed inside while Saeko again took the lead. Nick knew that Saeko liked to take lead because she wanted to kill zombies. They passed a few rooms and again found some human bodies. They were also Asami's classmates and these guys have police revolvers with them, Nick thought that they must have made a group together and came here to take food since only policemen knew about this place and it wasn't a quite known place. They took a few steps and again heard crying voices.

Nick: Wow... more than one of these things are together... no wonder they stood no chance...
