POV (Nick)

Nick: Wow... more than one of these things are together... no wonder they stood no chance...

This is the only conclusion I can reach since for now, it is nearly impossible for a human to kill these Witches with normal guns as all of we have seen before. I have never thought that I would see two of these things together, after all, they are like the so-called boss characters of a game.

From the corner of my eyes, I can still see Saeko fidgeting because she wanted to hunt the Witch. I know her nature too well... she likes to fight and credits to her new sword she finds it more fun. Well... it's not like I mind, after all, she is a warrior through and through.

Nick: Saeko... go and have fun...

Even before I could finish Saeko rushed towards the Witch with a huge smile on her face. The smile bloomed on her face after I gave her permission to kill the Witch, it was clear that she was only waiting for my permission... Sigh... this girl is really awesome. I mentally cheer for her in her mind since I can't do it outside because I have an image to maintain.

The same thing happened with this Witch too... it died headlessly. Saeko can be pretty brutal and sadistic at times but it is one of her perks after all. We continued to venture throughout the base but didn't find anything more except the dead bodies. We also found food but they had gone bad due to the lack of a proper refrigeration system. So, we decided to leave the factory since we didn't find anything more. I have to say that these were really unlucky, they decided to raid a food factory which was the den of two Witches, and even if they could have avoided the Witches they would have to return with empty hands since the food has gone bad.

Asami: Uh... Excuse me Nick-san... but can we bury the bodies at least. All of them are either my senior or classmate from the academy.

While I was busy with my own thoughts, I came towards me and spoke up nervously. I think it was a really normal request and I am not inhuman to reject her wish. Even if these guys weren't her close friends or something but at least they were her acquaintance and I also agree with her that they needed a burial.

Nick: Ok... we can do that... everyone help me carry them.

I decided not to use my powers to carry them, he didn't know why but it felt disrespecting if he carried them like them. We carried them to the front yard. The front yard wasn't covered with concrete. I used my powers to dig their graves after that all of us put their bodies there and covered them up. I made their grave markers after Asami told their names.

I saw Asami pray for a bit for a few minutes while some tears dropped from her eyes. Myself and the others didn't bother her, after some time she was done and came back.

Nick: Let's go back...

Saya: Yes...

I guess whatever happened here my have impacted all of them. Rika and Saeko were fine since it was quite understandable. Rika had seen her whole team die right in front of her and Saeko has one of the strongest minds within the whole group. I think she is even mentally than Soichiro and Rika.

I decided to let Saeko drive so I just gestured her to take the driver's seat while I took the shotgun. The rest entered the vehicle and I finally decided to speak up.

Nick: How are you guys holding up?

I asked them gently not to startle them or something.

Misuzu: Honestly, this isn't the first time we have seen this happening so it was kind of... the usual.

Asami: ...Don't worry I have come to terms that this is our World now... since I at least knew them I couldn't leave them like this...

I heard similar answers from the others too, hearing them I can understand that they only need some time off to get completely fine. I might have underestimated them and the human's ability to adapt. I nodded to myself and relaxed myself on the front seat.

Toshimi: So... I was thinking that are we going to find any more food... since it has already started to going bad.

Saya: ...No, this won't be happening in all the places... these people didn't have proper cold storage facilities which could store food during the power cut.

When I was relaxing I heard Toshimi spoke up in a concerned tone and what she said was also concerning but immediately answered and removed all our concerns. So I decided to tease Saya a little, after all, she is what is they call tsundere.

Nick: My Saya-chan is so brilliant.

Saya immediately blushed and harumphed and turned away her face. She is so cute when she does that, all of us started to chuckle seeing her reaction. This made her even more embarrassed while Saya just decided to avoid us and looked outside the window.

After some time we reached the airport and saw the usual scene, the zombies surrounding our base from all the sides. Not that I mind that, if I want I can kill all of them but they would again gather here so why do I even bother? I took the radio and informed the gatekeepers to open the gates. The gate was opened and I killed all the zombies who tried to enter the base but there was something odd. There were some bodies of zombies inside the gates, this meant the gate was opened after I left the base. Maybe I have to ask Shion or Yuriko.

Saeko parked the car in the parking lot while I saw the mechanics still working on the army vehicles.

Nick: Are the tanks fixed?

I decided to ask Rika since she also helped the mechanics to fix the vehicles.

Rika: Only two tanks are fixed, we decided to fix the trucks and APCs before putting up with the tanks.

Nick: Ok... so what about the black hawk?

Rika: ...Sorry, but to fix that we need a lot of parts and we have none of them now.

Nick: Ok...

I didn't speak anymore and Rika went to help the mechanics and we went inside the base. I took a cigarette and lit it up... ah, a smoke after hard work is really nice. I saw Saeko also wants one so I handed her one.

Nick: Saya-chan... where are you going?

Saya: Hmph...!!

Maybe she is still angry with my teasing, this is again so cute. She looked towards me and said that she was going to our room. I decided to talk to Kohta so I went to look for Kohta and found him in the training ground. It was an undergoing process, Yuriko decided to make this place for training the new recruits. We cant have rookies shooting us can we?

Nick: What's up Kohta?

After I announced myself only after that Kohta noticed my presence. Kohta turned towards me and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

Kohta: Ohh... I was just playing with the gun... it is one of my hobbies to take apart the gun and then assemble it again.

Nick: That's a nice hobby Kohta... So how much progress did you make with Asami?

Hearing me Kohta chocked on his own saliva and started to cough.

Nick: Are you ok?

Kohta: Yes, yes... I was just surprised. It is going nicely... we have gone on two dates but as you know there aren't many places now where you can go to enjoy yourselves.

Nick: I understand Kohta... you can try a picnic under the night sky.

Kohta thought for a few moments but grabbing my hand and thanking me before I could say anything he grabbed his gun and ran away. Maybe he went to ask Asami for a date under the night sky. He is a really nice guy maybe I should bless him and Asami so that they won't die even if they are mortal.

I turned around and was about to go towards my room but I was stopped when I was Takashi and Rei coming towards me. Both of them looked kind of nervous.

Takashi: Nick-san, I want to request something...

Nick: Don't be so nervous... you can speak freely you know...

I saw Takashi took a deep breath to calm himself down while Rei put a hand on his shoulder giving him some more courage. Maybe finally this dense head was able to understand her feelings.

Takashi: Can you take a team to my Mother's Primary School? I just want to confirm... I don't want to stay being uncertain.

I thought for a few moments, I think his request is quite understandable. I nodded to his request.

Nick: Get ready... we are leaving in two hours after lunch...

I saw both of them became a little happy and walked away before I went towards Yuriko's office. I need to gather the team again but I think they will agree too...

(A/N: Can anyone tell me if Takashi's mother's name and sister's name is told in the story or not and if it is there can anyone tell me what that is. I also want to know about if Rei's parent's names are given or not)
