HOTD: Legacy

A/N: I asked yesterday and then I searched myself but didn't find Takashi's mother's name so I am going to call her Himiko. Someone told me that Rei's mother's name is Kiriko and Father's name was Tadashi, so I am going to use that.

POV (Nick)

I reached Yuriko's office, her door was open while she was speaking with two women. I remembered them from the hospital, I saved them from that hell hole. Looking at them now, they have improved a lot, at least they are doing good now. I decided to notify them of my arrival so I just knocked on the door frame.

All three of them turned towards me.

Yuriko: Nick-kun come in... what brings you here?

Nick: Well I was thinking that we have enough food for now and we should start rescuing survivors now.

A smile appeared on three of their faces. I didn't know where these two women worked, Yuriko must have noticed me looking at them.

Yuriko: Ohh... meet my two secretaries.

Nick: Oh...

Yuriko: Speaking of survivors the girls you spoke about came today... they were scared by the explosion and decided to come here.

Nick: So, did they like the rules??

Yuriko: That they did... and as you had thought the older one had army training so I decided to get her in raiding team and the rest are waiting for other jobs.

Nick: Enough about them... now let's talk about what I came for. I am taking my team to Takashi's mother's school.

Yuriko: When are you leaving?

Nick: After lunch... from tomorrow set up teams to look around the city for survivors.

Yuriko: Ok that will be done...

Nick: Also start broadcasting about our base on radio... that will also invite survivors from all around.

???: If we get too many survivors... won't we have a problem??

While I was speaking with Yuriko suddenly one of her secretary spoke up nervously. When I looked at her she flinched slightly. She must have thought that I am angry on her for interfering.

Nick: What's your name?

???: ... Maya

She spoke up somehow... well Yuriko is just smiling. She could have easily cleared the misunderstanding but she didn't, she even stopped the other woman from interfering. She must be having fun.

Nick: Well Maya that's a good question but it is wrong. It doesn't seem like that but humans are the most important resources now. Yes, we will have to use more food to satisfy them and all but later on they will be useful. We can't use cold storage food for years we might have to farm food. For that we need humans to build walls, build farms, plant trees...

From the three of their reactions I understood that neither three of them have thought about this.

Yuriko: I will order that immediately... and I will also gather a team to raid the Radio Station for better and stronger equipment.

Nick: Well that's a good idea... well I will be going now. I will call a convoy if we find survivors there.

Yuriko: Nick-kun you must be a little optimistic...

Nick: That I am but since I am the leader I have to be prepared for the worst case... well I will be going.

After saying that I left her room and went towards my room. I entered the room and saw Saeko polishing her sword while sitting on the bed and Saya as usual playing with her laptop. I am really ashamed to admit that even after staying in modern world for years I was never able to learn about technology like Saya did. Saeko looks at me and smile while she continues to polish he sword. It must a swordsman thing, either way it is fine.

Nick: We will be leaving after lunch...

Saeko: Where will we be going?

Nick: We will be going to the school where Takashi's mother works...

Saya: Ooh... he really must be worried about her.

Nick: That he is... Saeko you will be coming.

Saya: Why?? I want to come too...

Nick: I don't know the situation there...

Well a glaring and angry Saya is really cute but it means I have ease her anger later. So I decided to give in and bring her too because she is immortal and cannot be killed. If anything unseen happens she will be completely fine.

Nick: Fine... you can come too.

After that I went and informed the others of my group about the mission. Soon the time passed and all of us were gathered after having lunch. Takashi and Rei also came while Yuriko's men have refueled the vehicle and loaded 4 gas backs on the backseat. It was a brand new APC which was fixed. A remote controlled 50 cal was fitted on the room so no one needed to be on the roof to operate the gun. Kohta's eyes were already sparkling in excitement.

Nick: Well let's go...

All of us entered the vehicle while Rika took the drivers seat and Saeko took the shotgun. She wanted to learn how to drive this vehicle too. I think she might be trying to become all rounder. She might be wanting to support me on all my endeavors and be at my side. Well knowing her personality this isn't out of the realm idea since she always had the caring housewife aura around her. I don't even know if that's a thing or not, maybe I have to ask Mom later.

We exited the base and I saw Kohta was looking at the remote controller of the 50 cal with puppy eyes while Asami was holding him back.

Nick: Kohta you can try that but leave some bullets for later... each container has 150 bullets. You can use one of them said.

I said while pointing towards 5 containers of the floor. Kohta didn't even wait and jumped on this chance and loaded turned on the equipment. Asami just looked at him and sighed. Looking at them I think that Asami must have agreed for the date. Well as long as he doesn't turns out like our dense than Mythril Komuro Takashi it must be fine.

As expected Kohta used the equipment with ease, he must have read about it somewhere, that must be the case. The rest of them also look fine now... I decided to take a little rest and laid my head on Saya's shoulder. She raised her hand and starts to caress my hair, this is soooo relaxing.

Rika: Well looks like we have a problem here...

I guess resting is not on my fate today. To I even have something like fate... another thing to ask my Mom. Well she is an encyclopedia after all... the all knowing Death.

Nick: What happened?

I got up from my seat and leaned on Rika's seat who was pointed towards a flyover that collapsed on the road successfully blocking it. I just sighed... it is such a simple thing. Getting worried for such a small matter is insulting. Well she is still human after all. I pointed my open palm towards the debris and rose my hand and the debris also rose up from the road. I moved all the debris out of the street.

Nick: Problem solved I guess...

I looked at Rika who had her mouth wide open. I think she didn't know how strong I was. Didn't she saw me ripping apart concrete?? Maybe she forgot...

Rika didn't answer the question and just drove the APC. I patted Saeko's head who immediately became very happy and after that I returned to my seat. After sometime we reached the school and it looked completely deserted by the dead zombies all around told another story. Saeko opened the door and slashed a zombie that was loitering in front of the gate. She cut apart the zombie in half vertically, she waved her sword and blood on her sword splattered on the road.

Nick: I don't think guns are available in Primary Schools.

I said while while I turned around a dead zombie and saw a bullet hole on its head. Takashi and Rei both looked really worried.

Kohta: The bullet holes looks like from police revolver.

Nick: That is a good thing...

Everyone took out their guns and loaded them. All of them have really gotten used to this I guess, with everything happening all around us I would be even more shocked if someone doesn't get used to this. Well Takashi and Rei are exception... even now their hands are shaking. Maybe it is due to nervousness.

I opened the gates and entered the the Primary School, the place was eerily quiet.

Saeko: I don't like this quiet... thay hide quite nicely.

I already knew that several people were waiting to ambush us but I didn't care that much. Looks like Saeko has already noticed. Maybe in a few years she would become a grandmaster.

While I was thinking all these I felt those people making their move and they came out their hiding and pointed their guns towards us. All of them were policemen, so they came here.

???: All of you raise your hands...
