HOTD: Legacy

After the meeting took place Nick and everyone returned to their rooms. Yuriko informed Raiga that they have agreed to all three demands and Raiga also agreed to join their base. Yuriko told him that they would send a convey the next day. Raiga completely agreed with it since they also needed to prepare everything.

The next day Nick took a convoy of 6 trucks with him. He reached their base and sae that they have packed a lot of stuff. Well it was quite normal since it was like they were changing their base. It took them the whole day to relocate. They held a feast at Fort Morningstar to welcome the new members of their base.

Some soldiers were very happy since they didn't have any way to relax and relive their stress until now but the arrival of special group of women in the base made them really happy. It was a controversial matter but since the leaders of their base had already taken a decision none of them could protest about that and they knew if they did then they would have to spend time in the front lines with the provisions of a Citizen.

Yuriko arranged a warehouse beside the parking lot for the red light district. The warehouse was modified and cleaned the next day. All the useful stuff were taken to other warehouses and the rest were thrown out. Shion also provided some of her enforcers for the the district so that no one can break any of the said rules and abuse the workers. Even if it was just a building they liked to call it district. Some tried to abuse the woman but soon they were thrown into the front lines. Even if the front lines weren't that bad but they were the ones who had to do patrols outside the walls so they met easy demise sometimes or sometimes they returned without even firing a single bullet.

Nick made a group of construction workers of 68 people. They duty was working on the walls. Nick decided to make the walls higher like they had thought before to prevent Tanks from jumping over the walls. It had happened once and Nick and the other leaders didn't want to risk another scenario like that. Even if Tanks could blow a hole in the walls but it will still take sometime.

The day after the feast Kiriko left with the policemen towards the base made by the police. Rei tried to stop her mother but she told her daughter that she is going to convince him to join Fort Morningstar.

The school was also underway. Many parents were happy they their children to receive education again. When Yuriko announced that they were going to teach about zombies too many parents protested hard but after Yuriko explained that it was necessary for their own survival that all of them won't stay small forever and they too needed to know about them, all the parents agreed.

Two months have passed since then and the walls were completely raised up supported by steel beams. After the walls were build up Nick asked them to build ramparts. Only half of the walls were covered by ramparts but it won't take much time to complete the project. Kiriko went to the Police base two months ago and still wasn't able to convince her husband. She comes to our base from time to time with her husband. Well her husband's name was Tadashi, a strict rule follower but he knows he doesn't have any right here so he keeps his mouth shut most of the time but sometimes spews nonsense about untrained peoples shouldn't be handed weapons especially in front of civilians. Nobody reacts to him except laugh at him.

So currently all of them were having a meeting regarding everything happening in the base.

POV (Nick)

I sat down on the seat and lit up a cigarette. I have to say everything is boring. My Saeko-chan is lucky that she gets to sneak out of the base and hunt zombies all she wants. I have to overlook the construction project and help the mechanics with repairing.

Nick: I am bored... and why are we having a meeting?

Yuriko: Nick-kun... you are becoming lazy you know??

Nick: No... I ain't lazy... I am bored, I want action...

Shion: Nick-kun... you could get the action you want. We were contacted by General Amami. Want to go there?

Nick: Why do I have that? We aren't joining their base...

Soichiro: Apparently they claim that they have found a nest?

Nick: Have they?

Yuriko: Yes... one of his team stumbled unknowingly on one inside a subway station. Well none of them retuned they were only able to radio in that they were in some kind of nest.

Soichiro: They contacted us to warn us but I told him that we too found one and cleared it. He didn't believe it and didn't say anything but I think that if this nest is anything like the one we found then we should clear it...

Nick: So what does the nest have to do with going to Amami' base??

Yuriko: He wants to give a reward...

Nick: Ooh ohh... then I want a Black Hawk.

Yuriko: ...I can contact him do you want to negotiate with him?

I didn't answer just nodded my head. Saeko-chan don't release your aura... keep it calm. You are going to choke Yuriko and Soichiro.

Nick: Saeko-chan... control your bloodl.u.s.t.

Saeko: Oops... sorry.

Yuriko took us to the radio room and contacted General Amami. Someone answered from the other side, Yuriko asked to speak with General Amami. After a couple of minutes someone with a gruff voice answered the radio. I took the microphone and decided to introduce myself

Nick: Hello General Amami... my name is Nickolas Morningstar, just call me Nick.

Amami: You are one of the leaders of Fort Morningstar, right?

Nick: Yes... I heard that you are giving some rewards if we can clean that so said nest you find?

Amami: That I am doing... Ration worth of 2 months for 4 thousand people.

Nick: Nah... I am not interested in that. I want a Black Hawk.

Amami: Kid thats too much...

Nick: I don't care... if we are having a deal then it is going to be with vehicles.

Amami didn't say anything for few seconds and answered again.

Amani: One APC and that's all.

Nick: Nope... 2 APC.

Amami: This is non-negotiable... then don't clean the nest. I am going to seal it then.

Nick: One APC and a list of Black Hawk parts.

Amami became silent again. After some seconds passed he answered again.

Amami: Fine... I agree...

Nick: Well then it good then... gotta go. I will be paying you a visit tomorrow.

Even I have sustained a loss in this negotiation but I wanted Black Hawk which I will have at the end of the deal. The AOC was a freebie. The Black Hawk I brought was completely scrap and it can be fixed but it needs several parts which I will get from Amami. I tried to get a Blck Hawk if I could but it seems that won't be happening so I have to fix mine.

Nick: I will only take Saeko with me... if anything is same like the last time then I don't want to give PTSD to someone.

Yuriko: But Saeko can get affected too...

Saeko: I don't mind anything of that... I am much more strong than either Soichiro or Rika.

Shion: Both Nick and Saeko-chan are right... both of them have really strong mind.

Yuriko and Soichiro didn't say anything and just nodded their heads. I went to the parking lot to look for Rika. She was currently working on a tank.

Nick: Rika... can I have the list of parts you need for the Black Hawk.

Rika: Sure just wait a sec...

She got up and rummaged through a lot of stuff and pulled out a notepad. She tore a page and gave it to me. I checked the list and stored it inside my pocket.

Rika: Why do you need that suddenly?

Nick: I made a deal with Amami... I do a job for him and he is going to give me these parts...

Rika: Oohhh when are you going to meet him? Can I come too?

Nick: No... you can't come. Its about a nest.

Rika: ...I would just stay at his base... I just want to know if some of my friends.

Nick: Ooh... then it's fine with me. I will be going tomorrow morning...
