As I entered the specially set up venue, I saw a sign with Odagiri and Tojo Rei on it.

On my side of the table, there were a large number of postcards.

“Well, it’s finally time. Tojo-kun.”

“Yes, let’s do our best.”

The two of us took our seats.

I took out a brush pen and a stock of ink from his bag.

“Oh, you look like a calligrapher.”

Odagiri-san spoke with a sideways glance.

“We’ll be starting the autograph session with Odagiri-sensei and Tojo-sensei soon. Please line up in a single lane.”

At the store clerk’s announcement, the autograph session began.

“I’m a fan, Odagiri-sensei. I read your books all the time.”

“Thank you. I hope you continue to enjoy my work.”

Then she smoothly signed the book.

“Tojo-sensei, is that you!? I’ve never seen your face before. You’re a lot younger than I thought.”

“Nice to meet you. Thank you for everything.”

I wrote “Calligrapher Tojo Rei” on a postcard and gave it to the fan.

“Thank you very much. I will treasure it.”

“Please continue to enjoy Mahogaku.”

I went on signing autographs one after another.

I must have signed about a hundred autographs.

Finally, the end was in sight.

“Thank you for everything.”

When I finished signing the last one, I finally took a breath.

“It’s over, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, we’ve had a lot of people show up. Good job.”

“Thank you for your hard work.”

When I returned to the waiting room, I started to eat my lunch and drink tea that I had been given.

“Tojo-kun is very popular, isn’t he?”

“It’s because of you, Odagiri-sensei.”

“No, no, this is also Tojo-kun’s ability.”

Then Odagiri-san smiled.

“Thank you for your hard work, teachers. We’re good to go for today.”

Sasai-san said and came into the waiting room.

“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go.”

“Oh, good work.”

I took my bag and left the waiting room.

On the way back, I took the same train as I had used earlier in the day.

I opened my phone on the train and started up a SNS application.

–“Thank you for the autograph session today! It was my first time, but it was fun to interact with the fans in person. Thank you for your continued support.”

And I posted it on social media.

And there was immediate response

–“Thank you for your hard work.”

–“I wanted to see Tojo-sensei in person!”

–“You were younger than I imagined.”

And so on.

“I’ll reply later.”

With that in mind, I got off at the nearest station.

“Oh, I should buy something for Sara.”

I bought some cakes from a nearby cake shop and headed home.

“I’m home.”

“Welcome back!”

Sara poked her head out of the living room.

“I bought you a cake.”

“Hai, thank you.”

“Shall we eat together?”

I washed my hands and ate the cake with Sara.
