I'm The Boss's Secretary?!
Chapter 193 - Doubt Seeding-III
Seoyeon stared at the woman for a couple of minutes as if she was struck by the older vampiress' words. Does the woman claim that she knows something she didn't? Something that was hidden by Jung Hwa? But she knew despite Jung Hwa's playful character he was someone who wouldn't lie to her, "Hwa wouldn't-"
"Everyone know of this, human girl," Valerie interrupted her, "Do you think vampires avoided him just because they are afraid of him? They are not that wrong. Of course who wouldn't be scared of someone who killed their own family. Once could be explained but what about twice? He killed his mother with a dagger through her heart and the same to his older brother because they have a bad relationship."
"Like you?" questioned Seoyeon to have Valerie stunned for a moment. "I should give you the same advise Mrs. Valerie and perhaps a question. If as you say Hwa killed his family then why are you still here? Aren't you afraid?" She narrowed her eyes after her words seeing the woman's smile that was wide turning smaller.
The woman's eyes flared with anger but she composed herself with a new smile of confidence. "I am capable of protecting myself without your worries and I haven't done anything that could make Hwa want to kill me."
"I don't think Jung Hwa would kill his mother or brother unless if they try to kill him," Seoyeon retorted and Valerie looked at her as if wanting to tear her smart mouth that continuously rain her with replies one after another without a hint of fear. Even though the human girl should know about vampires and witches now.
Valerie pulled her brows against her, the woman's voice dropped low with her eyes narrowing. "So you are supporting that he kills his own family?"
"My family tried to kill me for eleven times," Seoyeon revealed to make a point and her words made Valerie to be taken aback, "If you are in my shoes, would you or would you not kill my aunt and uncle?"
Valerie only frowned while looking at the lowly being without chipping a reply. Distaste left on her lips. She was someone who had always been regard highly by others in and out of the vampire's society. The lowly human girl was twisting her words and she didn't took well the girl's words, "I have warned you, human girl. It will be over the moment you realize your heart was pierced next." The woman humphed at her before she left.
Seoyeon continued to stand on her spot until she saw with her eyes how the woman disappear from the end of the hallway.
When the woman left, Seoyeon sank to contemplation in her silence, walking toward her room where she had to stop because her path intersect with Mrs. Valerie. Entering her room, she sat on the surface of the bed. Was Mrs. Valerie lying to her? But then there should be no benefit for her to. Which goes the same for Jung Hwa. He would not lie to her about this kind of thing.
Seoyeon believed in Jung Hwa. She had more reasons to believe him than not. With her being a witch and worse catalyst, Jung Hwa still stay beside her. If it was someone else, she could tell they would dispose her to silence her forever. Jung Hwa never treated her different even after knowing everything.
To know the truth she has to ask the man who experience everything.
Seoyeon was in a daze that she didn't notice her phone ringing. When she noticed the phone rang for the third time, she got up from her bed, quickly answering the phone call which came from her younger brother Seojun.
"Hello, sister?" greeted Seojun with a beaming sweet tone that had Seoyeon who was not feeling quite well with the informations that were added in her minds smile wide.
"What's wrong? It's rare for you to call me this early," said Seoyeon, her lips were stretched wide with a smile to lift her cheeks.
"This is not early it's already pass three in the evening, sister," reminded Seojun and Seoyeon pulled her phone to note the time and see that the time was close to four. "Actually, I call you because I want to ask you of something."
Noticing the drop of hesitation, Seoyeon curiously ask what could make Seojun to be careful before asking, "Go on."
"Are you not at home?" The question had Seoyeon to pause for a few seconds in succession.
"I am at home," Seoyeon replied quickly after pulling herself.
"But I am in front of your house now and you are not here," Seojun responded, acting as if he didn't know where Seoyeon was or that she was living with the pureblood vampire.
One could say the pureblood look to be kind on Seoyeon but Seojun refuse to believe it. He had experience the pureblood's power when they fought night before and it was enough to tell Seojun how dangerous the man was. He can't allow his big sister to stay under one roof with a threat.
"Actually Seojun, something happen with my current apartment and now I am staying with a... friend," replied Seoyeon. She didn't want to lie to Seojun but it wasn't easy to tell him about her aunt and uncle, knowing how they are the only relatives Seojun has in the world.
Now that Seoyeon thought about the recount of what happened in the past, maybe the only one who was shunned and bullied in her relative's house was only her. Seojun was never under their pressure but because he stayed beside her whenever they are in the house, he receive some backlash from it.
It took a while to realize how different she was taken care by them.
"Where is it, I will come there. Actually Aunty send me a food and I thought of sharing it with you. Can you tell me the address?" inquired Seojun who continued to play off as someone who didn't know where his sister was.
"Aunty's food?" Was there poison there? It should not be. Her aunt and uncle want to get rid of her but not Seojun. They wouldn't lay their hands or harm him as they said before. "I am really far, you know you could go back home."
"Don't tell me you are living with a man? Is that why you can't tell me the address?" Seojun continued to press, wanting to enter and meet the pureblood so he could peel the man's facade and show Jung Hwa's real intention.
"I am living with a male friend but..." Seoyeon drawled, dubbing her own head, "We are not in a relationship."
"Okay, tell me where then, I will drop this and come back later. Tell me through message okay or I will stay in front of your apartment for the whole night," saying the words, Seojun cut the call, leaving a smile on his expression. He knows that Seoyeon wouldn't want him to stay out in the cold out of worry he would fall sick.
Which Seojun was correct. Left with the call, Seoyeon was torn in what she should do. Letting Jung Hwa to meet Seojun doesn't seem like a good idea. Somewhere in her heart, she could tell they would not have a good exchange. With Jung Hwa's personality was the very opposite of Jung Hwa's it was likely that they would clash against each other.
However, she can't exactly let her brother out in the cold. Knowing how Seojun was stubborn to the core, she can see he would stay there through the night.
After some deliberation, Seoyeon decided to send the address of Jung Hwa's house and she got up from her bed to leave her room and search for Jung Hwa.
In one of the rooms inside the apartment, Jung Hwa pushed the eyeglass that fell from the bridge of his nose up and continue to read the book on his hand while having his mind filled with Seoyeon and the book they have to search. He closed one book to take another when his ears caught footsteps but he didn't react. Only the side of his lips were pulled and it stayed until the door of his room burst open and Seoyeon entered.
"Hwa, help me just cooperate with me once," said Seoyeon as soon as she entered.
Jung Hwa pushed his hand to stand up, walking over Seoyeon. She saw the eyeglass on Jung Hwa's eyes. It was said that when one put on an eyeglass, they would be less handsome but it didn't effect Jung Hwa the least. Seoyeon wondered if she would be able to find him not handsome.
"Bold of you entering without knocking to then make a request once we met," Jung Hwa reached out his finger and slide over her chin, his smile tilting. "What's the request?"
"My brother is about to come here. I think I told you about him before, his name is Seojun," explained Seoyeon from the start.. "I need you to cooperate with me and refrain from doing anything that could lead to a fight or t-touching me."
"Everyone know of this, human girl," Valerie interrupted her, "Do you think vampires avoided him just because they are afraid of him? They are not that wrong.
