Legendary Shadow

Liam started his first match. It was a no-name guy who just came to try his luck in the contest. He brought out a Totodile, Pidgey, and a Rattata. Liam knew this match was going to be easy and thought maybe he should do one against three. 

As soon as the guy brought out his Pokémon, he noticed Liam take out only one poke ball as he summoned Kabuto. 

The referee asked if he was sure he wanted to use one against three and Liam nodded in response as the match started. 

The trainer was pissed that Liam was looking down on him but Liam ignored him because Kabuto was at level 50 and was very close to evolving. 

Soon the battle went underway as the trainer started giving out orders. Kabuto was dodging all their attacks easily and had sent an ice beam towards Pidgey who fainted on the spot. The trainer now realized how powerful Liam was he started taking that match seriously. 

He asked Totodile to use a water gun while Rattata used bite. They both missed their target as Kabuto jumped in the air and started evolving mid-flight. 

Liam knew this was going to happen and he quickly ordered for him to use Ice Beam. The Ice Beam Kabutops used was way stronger than the previous ones as it froze both Pokémon causing both too faint making Liam the winner. 

The trainer was amazed at Liam's battle strategy and how he was able to evolve Pokémon in mid-jump and finish two Pokémon's off with one attack. 

Liam was wearing a mask in order to hide his identity. Due to him being the champion of Kanto, he wasn't sure if anybody would recognize him, but he didn't want any problems as the winner. 

Also, he didn't want to be hunted down because you could tell there were big-name trainers present in order to win the prize, a rare Pokémon from a different region. They all came together and even started to bet. They even started to bet on the trainers to see if they would win it all. 

A lot of people said that he had one more Pokémon that people have not seen before that was at least a level 100, but he had never shown that Pokémon out in public. 

There was also another lady, her name was Kate. She was a traveling trainer who went between Johto and Kanto battling and training her Pokémon. She was even a finalist who went up against Lance once but lost. 

Ever since then, she had been in solitude training and moving from town to town trying to figure out what weaknesses she had. 

There were several other great Pokémon trainers there that were slowly making their way up the ranks. Liam had finally faced off against a tough opponent. He had a level 70 Rapidash, Azurill, and Tyranitar. 

Liam thought for a second as to who he was going to use. He decided to bring out his own Tyranitar along with Kabutops and Omanyte. They were going to do the triangle strategy and have Tyranitar as the vanguard. 

Tyranitar didn't need the help of those two but just in case, Liam sent them to witness Tyranitar's brute Force. 

Tyranitar had leveled up to 90 so he wouldn't have any problem taking care of those three. The battle started as Kabutops and Omanyte started to use moves to decrease the stats of the other three Pokémon. 

Rapidash quickly charged towards Tyranitar trying to go for the two in the back. Omanyte and Kabutops both sent out a water pulse attack towards Rapidash who was approaching. Rapidash simply dodged it and shot out a flamethrower. 

Tyranitar used earthquake making Rapidash lose his foothold as Tyranitar quickly grabbed onto Rapidash and slammed her on the ground causing her to faint. 

The trainer was surprised by Tyranitar's might but quickly ordered Azurill and his Tyranitar to go after Liam's Tyranitar. The other Tyranitar was angry and he charged towards Liam's Tyranitar. 

Liam's Tyranitar accepted his challenge as they started to spar together. Azurill went after Kabutops and Omanyte. The water attacks weren't working on Azurill since she was also a water type. She quickly used rollout knocking into both, but it was ineffective due to their hard, tough skin. 

They both sent out a slash attack knocking Azurill out by tag-teaming. Omanyte started to evolve right after that battle as he had gained the experience he needed. He evolved into an Omastar. 

That's when the other trainer knew he was in trouble and thought of how they were going to gang up on his Tyranitar but that wasn't the case as when he looked over at his Tyranitar, he was in a submission state and was begging to return back to his poke ball. 

Everybody was laughing at this, as the trainer finally returned him which gave Liam the win. Everybody started to cheer him on as they were all fascinated and were wondering who was under the mask. 

They thought that his Pokémon was powerful. Whitney and her Entourage knew that it was Liam who was under the mask as she was also impressed. But, after seeing the Tyranitars fighting, she had gotten scared and didn't want to watch anymore. 

She told Liam after the fight not to bring out Tyranitar again. Liam apologized as he remembered that was one of her fears and thought that she needed to get over it one day.
