Love is a Sweet Poison

"Thank you for making sure that we were okay on the field. I think that you are a good god Inari even if your shrine is a small one." Gabriel ran his head over Inari while the small fox turned into a half human half fox.

"I really like the both of you and I think that you will do great things in this world. My real shrine is your painting room. I loved watching you paint, and you kept the place in good repair. Mother was the one that donated the small shrine to me so that I would not disappear, but I already told you that."

Amelia sat up and hugged Inari. It is because of you that I am starting to feel better. It is early morning so there is not a lot of worry about another human coming and interrupting our conversation. I feel so blessed that you and your Mother are taking pity on me." 

Inari hugged Amelia backed happily with his tail swishing in the air while his ears were perked up on the top of his head. "Thank you for letting me come over.

"Why wouldn't we let you come in\u003e You are one of my saviours." Amelia let him go and went to the table and brought the last wagashi piece to Inari, "here is a sweet treat that my friend made." 

"Thank you! Itadakimasu." Inari picked up the stick and started eating the wagashi happily. "It is very tasty!" 

The goddess knocked gently on the door and stood there watching her son. "SO you did come here. You sneaky little boy. I thought I said to let them have a decent sleep?" 

"We were already awake before Inari showed up, Goddess." Amelia went over and smiled at her happily.

"You are starting to look better. I think that the fruit will make you feel almost normal and make the disease dormant." The Goddess lifts Amelia's chin and looks into her eyes. "Yes, that is what it is doing. I want you to be careful so that you do not fall victim to the illness anytime soon. So not hard activities, but you should be able to have a child." 

Amelia's face turns red at her words. "Thank you. That actually means a lot to me but hearing you say it out loud has me panicking." She closed her eyes. 

"Ha ha ha, Oh my, you are just so cute. Gabriel, you are going to have to be gentle with her. There is still some flare-ups that will happen. I also heard that you are going to be having a wedding." The goddess looks at the couple. 

"We will be soon. In about a month but because Amelia is not going to be able to walk all that far I have decided that we will have it here." Gabriel bowed, "it would be an honour if you could attend."

"There are children here in the house. They will be able to sense us, but we will come to the wedding. I think if you can hold off until next month then you two will be happy." The goddess looks to the sky and her eyes go blank as she reads the future, and she smiles. 

Inari sees what his mother says and smiles happily. "I will be there. The children or just a child will see me but will be confused if no one else can see me. Children are very intuitive. Mother can hide from them but that is not a skill that I possess." 

"It will be Mayumi my niece and maybe Itsuki the son of Subaru, and they come from another town. Unless unborn babies count?" Gabriel looks at the two. 

The goddess snaps out of it and touches Amelia's cheek. "Unborn children are not an issue but the other two will be okay. We will attend the wedding since this is a union that I want to bless." She looks into Amelia's eyes, "You are getting better. I can see that your illness is being repressed. There is still some of the illness that is active, so no intense activities for now." 

"That would explain why I was feeling a little better. I didn't want to give false hope." Amelia smiled then hugged the Goddess, "You are one of my saviours. Thank you for helping me." 

"My dear child, you have given my son a gift. That is not something that I would ignore. He is most happy when you give him a gift even if it is something that is rare and unexpected." The Goddess returned Amelia's hug.

Inari ran up to Amelia and hugged her legs. "I am glad that Mother and you are on good terms. Thank you for the wagashi. It was tasty, but I can taste the difference from the last batch that was made. Your friend did a good job but not as good of a job as yours was." 

Gabriel chuckled and watched as the hugs were given out. "Today Amelia will be taking all sorts of exams and will be working on skipping grades. We are going to graduate together."

"Yes, that is true. I am very excited to be moving on to the same class as Gabriel. I will make you more wagashi when I have time." Amelia smiled and pats Inari on the head." Amelia bent down to his level and gave him a proper hug. 

"It is in your best interest that Amelia is by your side at all times, so I agree with this development." The goddess touched Amelia's wrists and the bruises that were there disappeared. "A little healing so that you do not hurt anymore. The bruising was superficial, but I think it would be better to not see it at all.

Amelia let Inari go and looked at her wrists. "You didn't have to do that but thank you." Amelia touched the skin where the bruises had been. 

Gabriel came up behind Amelia and touched her hands. "We will let you both get your duties done for the day. I have to show Amelia a few problems before we get ready for classes today." 

"Yes, that is acceptable. It is time for up to take off and get started on our duties. Inari, let's go, and you can come back another time for a visit." The goddess walked out of the room and Inari went full fox and followed her out of the room. 

"That was an eventful morning. Thank you for sorting all the papers for me." Amelia turned and smiled at Gabriel.

Gabriel picked Amelia up and spun her around before pulling her in for a hug. His arms wrapped around her body and pulled her close. "I am glad that you are recovering even just a little bit. I would do anything to help you out, and you know that now." 

"Yes, I do. I was surprised by the goddess' words. Everyone keeps telling us no babies, and yet, she tells us that it is okay. I am not sure how to process this information." Amelia rested her forehead on his chest.

Gabriel moved his hand up her back and pitted the back of her head. "I know how you are feeling about this dear. Let's focus on the exams and taking you out of Yukimura's grasp." He lets her go but takes her hand and leads her to the table. "I can see that you have finished all of the first year assignments and most of the second year work." 

"Yes, that is true. I wanted to be ahead of the gang. Some of the assignments that I completed were quick and easy. While others were not as easy." Amelia touched the stack of the assignments that she had completed. 

"Okay, I'm going to teach you a trick to solve all the questions in the second year assignments. They are all truck questions." Gabriel pulls out the first one and walks Amelia through the steps to completing it and watches as she gets the question right. "Now try the next one on your own."

Amelia looked at the questions and was able to get the correct answer on her own and she smiled. "With your hint it is much easier to understand these questions."

"This is actually something that Father showed me. He saw the problem and had a unique way of dealing with it. I was the only one that got the problems solved and I that that is understandable what it is like that." Gabriel watched as she got through all the problems and one strand of her hair fell into her eyes. Gabriel took initiative and tucked the strand of hair behind her ear.
