Love is a Sweet Poison

Nathaniel stepped out and greet Gabriel with a smack on his shoulder. "You are the talk of the school. Helping a girl out of your carriage." 

Amelia bowed to Nathaniel, "Good morning, Nakamura-san." She looked up at him and then at Gabriel she can see that Gabriel was holding back his laughter. 

Nathaniel stopped and looked at the girl and then at Gabriel before looking back at Amelia. "The Belle of the academy? Gabriel, my man, you got the most sought after girl in the academy. It is a pleasure to meet you Suzuki-chan. Do me a favour and take care of this workaholic."

Amelia starts giggling, "I will do what I can but there are no guarantees. Gabriel is a free soul and loves what he does and for that I don't think that I can keep him away from his passions." 

Gabriel chuckles, "Nathaniel you will have all day to question me. I need to help Amelia get to class and bring this for her." He holds up the satchel of papers. 

Nathaniel nods his head and allows the two to head to class now that their shoes were switched for slippers. Amelia bowed then followed Gabriel. She smiled and happily skipped behind him. When they reach the class he allows her to walk in and follows her to the desk. She set the lunches on top and turned to Gabriel up his lunch. "I will see at lunchtime."

Gabriel took the lunch after placing the satchel of papers down. "Thank you," he leaned closer to her and whispered, "meet us ion the student council office for lunch." He walked away and went to the door. He waved at her before leaving.

Amelia smiled and watched him leave and waved in return. She sat in her seat blushing but happy. She opened the satchel and noticed that Gabriel had sorted all her papers by class and hand in times. Slowly she closed the satchel up as Sachi and Ami came to her desk.

"Saito-san made the right choice by walking you to class. He let everyone know that you are taken and that there was nothing that would change his mind." Sachi smiled at Amelia who was sitting down at her desk.

Ami glared at the curious people that wanted to get closer. "I will help you carry the satchel so that it does not get lost." Ami smiled then took her seat in front of Amelia while Sachi sat next to Amelia. She watches her classmates but doesn't let any of them to talk with Amelia.

Sachi leads the class in the rising, bowing and sitting. Since Amelia was gone for a week, and it was best that she did not over exert herself. 

The teacher looks around the room and starts to go over the different ways to solve the problems that were on the board. The teacher let the students work on the assignments that he handed out. 

"I thought that you would sooner rather than later. I will schedule for you to take all of the appropriate exams over the next two weeks. Have you started on the second year assignments?" the teacher holds the stack not looking through it at the moment.

"Yes, I am roughly about halfway done already. All the papers are in that pile." Amelia bowed her head at the teacher. 

"If you have any questions you can come to me. I will have your exams set up starting tomorrow. Amaritsu-sensei should be free to watch over you." The teacher smiles and takes the assignments up to the desk and starts to marks them. 

At the end of class Sachi goes through the stand bow and sit commands once again and when the teacher leaves she turns to Amelia. "So that satchel is all the work that you have already completed, and you do intend to move up faster now. I am so proud of you." 

Yukimura tries to sneak up to Amelia. Ami steps in front of him. "Where do you think you are going? I will not allow you anywhere near Amelia you creep."

"Pffft, it is not like a mere girl like you can stop me." Yukimura pushes Ami into the wall hard and then tries to approach Amelia. 

Gabriel came to check on Amelia and saw that Yukimura push Ami. He rushes into the room and blocks his path. "Didn't I already tell you not to mess with my partner. She will never be yours." He blocked the punch that Yukimura threw at him. 

Amelia clutched to the back of Gabriel's yukata. "I am okay, Dear. I was scared and worried about Ami, but I wasn't able to protect my friend."

The sewing teacher came into the room and looked at the group. Everyone out. You all have classes top be in. Get to the gym class and you," she points to Gabriel, "Saito-san, you are not supposed to be in the first year classroom. Stay behind and explain."

All the students clear out. When the coast is clear Amelia peeks around Gabriel. "Ikeda-sensei! I am sorry for the problem." She bows to the teacher in the room. 

"Ikeda-sensei, I was on my way to the library and decided to check on Amelia as she is my bride t0o be. Yukimura was going to attack her and I will not sit by and watch that happen." Gabriel bowed to Ikeda-sensei and then turned to Amelia, "since you are safe now, I will go do my free study, Angel." 

"Thank you, I will see you at lunchtime Gabriel." Amelia watched as he left the room and sat back down in her seat, "I'm sorry Sensei that you had to see that. I am ready for my needlework exam." She smiled at The teacher. 

"No need to apologize. I know that Yukimura-kun has been troubling you. I was just surprised that Saito-kun was in the room. If you are with him then you are truly blessed." Ikeda-sensei nods her head.

"Gabriel is my marriage partner, and it was set to be done this weekend. Well actually this past week when I was in the hospital. I am ready for the needlework test, oh, and I need to inform you that I will be skipping grades all the way to the third year." Amelia blushed and waited. 

"Your needlework is beyond a second year student anyways. Today's test is for you will be different. I will give you the final needlework test. Make me a portrait in the cloth that I give you. You may use any colours that you want." Ikeda-sensei flips a desk in front of Amelia and places all sorts of threads and then hands Amelia a large cloth piece. "Originally you were supposed to do a flower, but you are way beyond that." 

"Thank you, IU will get on it then." Amelia sat there and started on the portrait of the teacher in her beautiful red yukata that was covered in all sorts of flowers. 

Ikeda-sensei sat down at the desk and started to grade the exams that she had collected. 'I think this will be good enough of a test for her to enter the third year, but I will have to give her a second year exam. I will have to think about what to test her on.' 

Amelia finished the needlework just before the next class was to start. She looked up at the teacher. "I am assuming that I can continue since this the next class? I would like to add some more detail if that is alright?" 

Ikeda-sensei stood up and fixed the desk and nodded her head. "Yes, that is most acceptable. I know that you will want to finish it properly. Normally you would be given a few hours to complete the work. If you need a break then take one." 

"Thank you," Amelia placed the needlework down on the desk and stretched. The rest of the class started to come in and Amelia rested her head on the desk for a moment. Her friends came to her smiling. "Did you win again?" 

"You bet I made sure that we won. I am the fastest person in our class." Ami stated proudly and then sat down at her desk. "You are doing a different project?" 

"This is my final project for the first years. The second year work is still up for debate. I am going to complete this and hand it in at the end of this class, and then we will go and have lunch." Amelia looked between her friends smiling happily.
