Love, Jerk, and Affair

In the afternoon, Adriana sat on a lawn chair beside the house looking up at the evening sky. Sometimes she saw Evan playing with the gardener at her husband's house. the young mother felt something missing from her. Yes! The love for Mark decreased, even to talk to him was lazy. This all happened because her husband had often lied, betrayed her, and showed a different attitude that seemed indifferent to her.

All-day, Mark is at home but only sleeps and accompanies Evan to play. Adriana increasingly felt that her household was getting bland and did not have support to survive. In addition, the treatment of her in-laws always made her want to leave immediately.

Adriana was tired of asking Mark to move house and live independently with their little family, but her husband was always unwilling because he wanted to stay near his mother. This is in contrast to Adriana who always seems to be made uncomfortable by her in-laws. she had tried to do good but was still wrong in the eyes of her mother-in-law.

''I am tired of all this. What am I here for, who am I here for? Evan was sick they didn't care. Only Dave is the only person who cares about me." Adriana made a monologue with herself while wiping her tears that she didn't realize were just dripping.

Dave drove the car into the driveway as if he'd just come home from work. The man immediately got out of the car and saw his sister-in-law sitting alone in the yard of the house. he immediately approached her.

"Adriana," said Dave, then sat down next to her.

"Why are you crying, Adriana?" asked

Dave with pity.

"Eh, I was just winking," said Adriana lied as she rubbed her eyes roughly. she always covered his sadness from her brother-in-law.

"Where's Mark?" asked Dave who felt he had to teach a lesson to his brother who did not realize his mistake had hurt Adriana. The man was sure that it was his brother who made his sister-in-law cry.

"In his workspace," said Adriana dryly.

Dave nodded understandingly and immediately got up from the chair. He walked into the house with brisk steps toward Mark's Workspace which is near the living room.

In his solid-walled workspace dominated by light brown paint, equipped with table furniture, a sofa, and two cabinets for storing files, there is also a door leading to a long bath, Mark leaning back in his chair. He thinks what should be his decision. The ultimatum given by Maura was enough to make him dizzy.

Mark loved Maura too much, he didn't want to be left behind a second time. the man thought, this is the right time to get her back, but he could not bear it if he had to divorce Adriana.

Even though his love for Adriana was not as great as his love for Maura, Mark also loved her because of her gentle speech and character, and kindness to him as a husband. the man admits that he also adores his wife whom he does not love, especially since they already have children between them.

"Oh my God, what should I do? I don't want Maura to leave, but is it possible that Adriana will agree if I remarry. Maura also doesn't seem to want to be a second wife or mistress."Mark made a monologue with himself while massaging his forehead because he felt dizzy.

While daydreaming about his love fate, Mark's attention was fixed on Dave who suddenly came with quick steps, staring at him with a cold gaze.

"What do you need here?" asked Mark with a look of displeasure, because Dave always meddled in his private matter.

"Are you dizzy thinking about your affair?" Dave asked back with a sneer at Mark.

Mark looked lazily at his sister's presence and replied, "I just want to be with Maura before she leaves."

Dave paused in anger, then saw Mark's wedding photo with Adriana who was on the work table. He took the photo and smiled, his heart seemed to be hurt to see Adriana smiling happily because she was married, a woman wearing a wedding dress and hugging her, now that happy hue has been replaced by sadness because of the hurt in the heart that has come insistently.

"Don't you remember, you brought her here to make her happy? Look, she is smiling happily because she married you!" Dave shows the photo to Mark and glares at him.

Mark rolled his eyes in annoyance at Dave's rambling. he does not like his younger brother who always interferes in his matters. Moreover, yesterday had interfered with the activities of his affair with Maura.

"What do you mean, Dave?" he asked.

"WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HURT HER?" Dave snapped with a sharp glance at Mark, then slammed the photo into pieces and scattered it on the floor.

Adriana, who was outside, heard a commotion from inside the house. she immediately walked over to Evan and carried him, inviting him into the house out of curiosity about what was happening.

Arriving at the house, in the living room, to be precise, Adriana immediately entrusted Evan with the maid, then rushed to Mark's workroomm, which sounded rowdy.

Adriana's steps stopped at the door because she heard her name being debated from inside the room. The young mother decided to remain silent while listening.

"What do you mean, why did you destroy the photo?" asked Mark in a high tone, staring intently at his younger brother.

"It's like Adriana's heart!" Dave replied in a high tone, pointing at the fragment of the photo.

Mark just didn't flinch and remembered when Adriana talked about him coming home in the middle of the night escorted by Maura, he was aware of his wife's sadness but could not stop his affair with Maura. The man is already smitten with his old love.

"Don't you realize that you have hurt her? Why are you having an affair with Maura, what does Adriana lack for you?" Dave showered Mark with questions while glaring at him.

"She's the perfect wife," replied Mark with a look away, he looked down with his hands resting on the table. the man is in a dilemma.

"Then why do you still want to be with Maura, why are you being a jerk? Going out of town with the excuse of leaving the city but you are alone with your ex-lover! Even though at that time your son was sick, Mommy and Byanca didn't even visit him!" Dave stared at Mark's cowardly face.

"I love Maura more than anything and you know that a long time ago, Dave. I can't help but be here again." Mark looked helpless, the feeling of dilemma confused him.

No one will ever justify Mark's actions. there was no truth in being a liar and a traitor, making Dave even more disgusted by his brother's attitude.

"She left you and now you are Adriana's husband!" Dave emphasized, then asked again, "is your wife not more important than her?"

"I don't know," Mark replied reflexively. "My love for Maura is too deep, while Adriana ... I just feel sorry for her and Evan too."

Dave's eyes sharpened with anger after hearing Mark's answer, who still put Maura first. his brother said he was only sorry for Adriana, making him look totally like a jerk. How can he say only pity, even though he made that woman pregnant before marrying her?

Dave clenched his fists and then punched Mark hard in the face.

"You said you pity her but always hurt her, you also ruined her future!" said Dave in a high tone as he gripped Mark's shirt.

"I've only been attracted to her since long ago and I don't love her! she was there when Maura left!" Mark pushed Dave's hand away, then pushed him to his knees.

Dave immediately stood back up and pushed Mark against the wall

"So, you only intend to make fun of and make her an outlet for Maura who left you. You bastard!"

Dave hit Mark again and again. The man was not only silent, but he also returned the hit of his younger brother until he fell on the floor.

"You don't interfere in my family matters. Adriana's problem is happy or not, it's none of your matters!" exclaimed Mark, pointing at Dave's face, who stared at him furiously.

"Of course it's my matter, because if you don't make her happy I'll make her happy," Dave replied as he stood back up.

Mark frowned after hearing what his younger brother said. "Do you love my wife?" he asked.

"If so, will you be jealous?

don't you love Maura more? so, just leave her, let me be the one who will make her happy." Dave answered spontaneously without thinking about Mark's feelings. He realized that his feelings for Adriana were more than just affection for his sister-in-law.

"Damn you traitor! You like your brother's wife," said Mark, smiling sarcastically at Dave.

Dave just paused with a hate stare at Mark. he tried to contemplate his brother's words that bastard. 'Am I a traitor? I don't have the heart to let Adriana continue to be sad because of your actions,' he thought.

Mark immediately left the room. but when he opened the door, he was surprised because in front of him was Adriana who was staring at him.

"Adriana ...."
