"Both of you knows what to do now. Don't fail me or else!" Calter threatened to number 31 and 32. The two fearfully nodded their heads. Calter won't normally do anything bad to them but if they messed up the web that their master carefully weave, they knew they would have a bad ending

For slaves like them, there is no room for any failure!

"Use the sound transmission stones to regularly give us updates" Calter said with a cold tone and the two ingrained every words of their master on their minds

"Yes, master" the two respectfully answered as if they weren't Grand Knights in front of a mere Magic Apprentice

Otto that was watching on the side can't help but shudder a bit. These Rank 3 Mages are almost equal in power and position as him yet they are acting so subservient like this. Otto can't believe that Grand Knights would be slaves of a Magic Apprentice

"Go now!" The two then rode their horses. As not to attract attention from the start, the two can only ride using normal horses

As expected, the Fiery City didn't give in to Soaring Magic City's demands even after Otto declared a war against the city. Little did they know that their refusal will be the end of them

Calter hoped that no mishaps will happen or an unexpected variable will suddenly appear. Although things seemed going according to his plan but he's still cautious

Standing outside the walls and gates of Fiery City, number 31 and 32 has a serious expression on their faces. This is a mission they cannot afford to fail

The two wore simple gray robes like a mere commoner and just like what they expected, they didn't attract any attention

Entering the City, the two mages blended in the crowd to not cause anyone to pay extra attention on them

The two went to find the slums. Those poor and weak people have quite a lot of knowledge with them

Entering a rather secluded alley, the two saw rows of people sitting on the ground with dirty and smelly bodies. There are even some rotting corpses here and there

Fortunately, these two are former prisoners that struggled in life too and didn't mind it that much. But the two can still see that the slums in this city was in a worst condition than Soaring City

The two stared at one of them and it looks as if the beggar was hypnotized and followed the two. The other beggars didn't even notice this and continued waiting for their deaths

The three entered an even more secluded alley without any people and only then the beggar broke free from what it looks like as hypnotism

However, instead of panicking, the beggar just stared cautiously at the two. "May I know what the sirs need to me?" The beggar asked respectfully

He has quite an experience in this world. These two will either exploit information from him and then give him some spare change for his help. Worst scenario is after giving what he knows, these two will kill him to silence him

He didn't resist as he knew that even if he did, he would just die. Might as well act respectfully in hopes that these two will let him leave alive

Fortunately, the Nobles are quite arrogant. In fact, they might even be more arrogant than the Nobles at Soaring City. These peasants know almost all the homes of the Nobility Clans

They took a mental note on it as they need to avoid those places. It would be horrible if they were seen by a Noble that will be disgusted to them and asked guards to kill or beat them

Taking the list from the peasant, the two gave some Magic Crystals to him and went away. Although these two are now powerful, but they also came from a lower point and struggled hard to reach their current power. They can see their past selves from these peasants and decided not to kill the man

They don't think that the man will be able to negatively affect their plan. This peasant even if he talked, no one will believe him and they will just think that he wants money

Exiting the slums area, the two separated their ways. Number 31 as the first one to reach Rank 3, is the one that will attack a Marquees Clan at night and hours later, number 32 will attack a lower Noble Clan with weaker strength

Number 31 is currently looking at the gates of a certain Marquees Clan. This one is the Kar Clan, just like the Hale Clan of soaring, this one is a merchant family.

In a direct war, this clan has a high chance of winning against another Marquees Clan as they can afford to hire a lot of Magic Knights. However, in sneak attacks, they are the most vulnerable as they have lesser Knight members at normal times

Number 31's eyes flashed with a dark light and the guards' bodies stiffened before they opened a smaller gate for their own enemies to enter and closed the gates afterwards

When the guards regained their senses, it was already too late as Number 31 already entered the clan and hid himself

When the night time arrived, Number 31 already knew a lot about this clan as he camouflaged himself while listening to all sorts of gossips. He decided to wait for a while when the people are about to sleep

People are most vulnerable when they are sleeping and it would be easier to kill them

Although Knights have a high status but in a Marquees Clan, they have few tens of such mage which made the weaker ones to have lesser importance

There was a man and three women inside that were peacefully sleeping with only sheets covering their bodies. As polygamy is very common, the strong mages would have a lot of lover such as this one

A wand appeared on number 31's hand and he used his spell immediately. "[Dark Magic: Killing Fog!]" This spell was one of Calter's own spell that he learned

A black fog formed in front of number 31 and it passed through the windows as if it weren't there in the first place. He controlled the fog to cautiously fly on the bodies of the four

When it was only inches away from the Knight, the Knight immediately opened his eyes as he can feel magic fluctuations. A Knight is still a Knight and they have sharper senses than normal people

However, he was already too late! The fog covered his and the women's bodies. He tried to resist but the fog already entered his system and killed him from the inside

Even if he screams, his voice wouldn't reach far because of the fog. As Caizher put importance on staying alive on his past life, he made and learned spells like this

As his goal is to kill as many Knights as he can, number 31 should preserve as much mana as he can. This liquid has a corrosive property but it is only effective at organic materials and can turn it into water. It was a famous item for disposing bodies that no one should see

Moving on, number 31 exited the room through the window and went to his next targets. Fortunately, as a clan, their rooms are close with each other especially the Magic Knights. The rooms in the higher floors are bigger and much grander

He reached his next target's room but number 31 can't help but blush a bit. He can hear moans and groans inside. Number 31 moved away first and used a concealing spell on himself

As his target is still awake, it would be trickier to kill them. It was number 31's misfortune that a Knight was doing such a sexual act at this time of the night

From the looks of it, they might be part of a single family. But things like that are common though. As mages wants to reach higher heights, there would be people there that will always be with them. As long as you are powerful, other people cannot do anything to you so why care about having an incestuous relationship

The fog covered their bodies and they tried to use mana but to their shock, the fog entered inside them and they were unable to use any of their powers. This is Grand Knight's spell after all!

The fog then destroyed them from the inside. Even their loud scream for help and pain were contained inside the fog. The two didn't even know who wants to kill them before they died

Number 31 heaved a sigh of relief after he easily killed his targets again. Seems like the higher your position is, the lower your guards will be

The weak like the former number 31 will be cautious on every move he will make in fear that today will be his death. However, these Nobles are different

They are drowned by their power and position to the point that they didn't think that someone will try to kill them
