After wiping all of his sweat, Calter turned to look at his servants. "Go call Number D1 and D2 along with our top ten Magic Knights. Ask them to meet me in my office" Calter ordered as his eyes flashed with a dark light

Number D1 and D2 were the former number 31 and 32. As Calter gained more slaves, the numbering of them needed to he changed. All numbers with letter A in front are all Magic Apprentices. While those who have letter, D are the few Grand Knights

Calter don't want to bother himself my remembering so many names and just used this system for naming

As this is Calter's Magic Tower, he has a room in which he takes care of all of his businesses

Kence also sleep over here most of the time but in the morning to afternoon, the youth was mostly on Otto's Magic Tower. Otto is still Kence's teacher and he would learn easier with the old man. Even the environment is beneficial for him

As for Calter, although he wants to be with Kence 24/7 but he cannot possibly do that. He still needs to raise his own strength. All of his mage slaves are still not his own power. Calter needs to exceed even his former peak to make Kence safe

Just the Rank 4 Mage is already powerful, even its Grand Knight subordinates are numerous and are even more powerful than normal Rank 3 Mages

That is why, Calter mostly stayed on his tower where the environment would make it easier for him to raise his strength

Entering his office, Calter sat on his chair while waiting for his men. One can see that his face is very cold and even occasionally flashed with anger

When his subordinates entered his office and saw his current state, they weren't able to stop themselves from shuddering a bit. No good will come when someone angered this man

"M-master, you called for us?" Even number D1 who have the most authority and power among Calter's slaves is also afraid. After the conquering of Fiery City, number D1 and D2 was left to do what they want as long as they will teach the mages and also raise their strength

Over all, they have an easy life, but, with Calter like this, that peaceful life is about to change

"I have things you need to accomplish" Calter said and the mages immediately nodded their heads

"W-We will do our best" The mages fearfully replied

"Months ago, someone ordered assassins to kill me. However, my Kence protected me and almost lose his life in the process. I want you all to investigate who ordered for that assassination. As soon as you learned who it was, abduct them and put them in one of the cells"

Calter will never forgive the one who almost took away Kence from him. It's just that, he decided to suppress his anger first and think of the big picture

He first built his own force but even though he managed to nourish a Grand Knight, the events from Blaze made it so that he's unable to use his force to look for the mastermind. Number D1 was needed to seclude himself so that their enemies won't know their existence

Even after conquering Fiery City that is now called Dark Eye City, Calter first needs to assimilate all the things he gained. He simply doesn't have time to make a move on the people who hurt his Kence

"I-Is that all, master?" Number D1 asked doubtfully. Knowing Calter, to call them all here, the matters aren't as simple as this. Even just Number D1 is enough for the job, why does Calter needs to call for Number D2 and the top ten Magic Knights?

"Of course, not" Calter chuckled darkly and started explaining his other plan. Sure enough, Calter has another devious plan on his mind

It was a plan that will surely make his enemies cry. It was easy to kill and punish the one that ordered for assassination. However, to deal with the assassin organization with no name is not as simple as that

Even Otto was not able to clean this organization and very few was known about them. No one even knows where and how many mages they have

But with Calter's plan, it would surely make his enemies cry tears of blood

Early the next day, Number D1 and D2 immediately started Calter's plan along with the ten strongest Magic Knights. As Calter always put emphasis on cautiousness, even though sending number D1 and D2 is already too overpowered, he wasn't satisfied with that

Twelve people stood outside the gates of the Khan Clan. The two in front looked at the guards coldly. Although the guards felt the imposing aura that these two have, as they are guards of a Marquees Clan, their arrogance still got the best of them

"Halt! Who are you and what is your purpose?" One of the guards asked in an arrogant manner but the people outside was unfazed by it

"We are here to have a talk with the Khan Clan especially Brony and Bonny" Number D1 simply said as if the Khan Clan was just nothing on his eyes

This naturally angered the guards that were proud of being a powerful clan's subordinates

"The members of the Khan Clan are not someone you can easily have a conversation with just because you want to. Be gone now!" That same guard said and the others nodded their heads

Number D1's eyes flashed with a dark light and mana fluctuations were emitted by his body. That guard who was only a Magic Warrior immediately fell into an illusion

The guard's whole body trembled in fear as if he saw a horrifying scene. The man even peed on his own pants as foam formed on the corner of his mouth and his body fell on the ground

It was just too easy for a Grand Knight to deal with a mere Magic Warrior!

"We are the City Lord's men, if you know what's good for you then open this gate" The manner that Number D1 spoke scared the guards especially since they learned that he was the City Lord's subordinates who conquered another City

As Calter is still too weak, he decided to not enter the limelight and instead worked in the shadows. All the credits were given to Otto and the old man's position in the Soaring Magic City further solidified

Now, the Nobles become even more afraid on him. That's a whole City that is conquered! While these Nobles are only part of the collective power of a city, how can they not tremble from fear?

"A-Apologies!" Another guard said and immediately opened the door. As for the other guards, some of them went to inform the Khan Clan that people from the City Lord arrived and wants to meet them

If it was before, only the Patriarch was needed to meet Otto. But now, it was not even the City Lord himself but all Knights of the Clan was mobilized to pay their respects

Although Otto is powerful, but in front of tens of Knights that a Marquees Clan have, he still cannot defeat all of them in a fight. Also, Otto needs the Marquees Clan for the protection of the City

However, him 'conquering' Fiery City is such a fearsome feat. The City Lord didn't even used the Nobles of his City but still succeeded

Not just that, the news of a Grand Knight surrendering to Otto also spread and increased the power of the force he has. The old man's power and authority in the City reached higher heights

If the Nobles wants to survive, they can only do so by lowering themselves. Unlike before, they are not much needed now! The absence of their measly power is not that much of a loss for Soaring Magic City anymore

If Otto wants, he can slaughter them without facing any consequences

Arriving at the front of the mansion, Calter's slaves were greeted warmly by the Khan Clan. Since Brony and Bonny was a part of their Clan, they are even more afraid

Sure enough, the pair of father and son were trembling while throwing pleading looks towards their patriarch. But the patriarch just ignored them, the overall wellness of the Clan is his priority

Even if he needs to sacrifice the two, he won't hesitate. The Patriarch don't want to depart in this world as a failure. He won't have any face to show to his ancestors if that happened

The Khan Patriarch was just about to open his mouth but Number D1 cut him off. These slaves know that Calter put great importance on Kence. The man might be irritated if they took too long for finding the culprit. If the mastermind was not in the Khan Clan, then they also need to investigate clans that have hatred towards Calter

"We our here by our master's order. The City Lord's disciple was assassinated before and the mastermind might be a part of this clan. But rest assured; we won't do anything to your Clan if you become honest"

All eyes turned at Brony and Bonny whose bodies trembled even harder

"I-It w-wasn't us!" Bonny immediately defended him and his son. However, it just made them look too defensive. Besides, they are the ones that has the most motive among the Khan Clan

"Are you saying the truth? Bonny, don't be too selfish and put our Clan in a great danger. One must take responsibility of their actions and made decisions for the greater good" the Khan Patriarch said in a righteous manner

This made Calter's slaves to snicker inside them as they knew that this man simply doesn't want to be negatively affected and was willing to sacrifice his own clansmen

The Patriarch only wants to preserve his clan as it gave him higher authority and power. But it wasn't surprising though, even the other members of their clan have the same thoughts

For them, even if they are families, why would they sacrifice their lives for the wrong decision that they didn't made personally? It was this father and son's fault, why should they be affected too?

"I-I'm saying the truth! It's not us, I promise!" Bonny said with a pale face. He knew what his own clansmen thinks and although he was angered, he can't blame them much

He knew to himself that if similar things happened to his other family members, he would also act like this

"If you are really not guilty then allow us to put you in an illusion and we'll ask you the truth" Number D2 said and a wand appeared on his hand

"N-no!" Bonny's face paled more from this. He cannot let then put him in an illusion

Even the Patriarch's face twitched a bit. If Bonny is under the illusion, then the mage can simply order him to say what he wants. It wasn't such a reliable thing to do as the outcome is something that the mage can control

"If we don't verify the truths from you then we won't know what will happen to your clan" Number D2 said while looking at the Khan Clan members. His and number D1's aura exploded and suffocated the Khan Clan

The aura of two Grand Knights put great pressure on them. The faces of the weaker ones even paled because of this

The warning from number D2 was very effective and they stared at Bonny. "Just let the esteemed mage put you in an illusion. If you're really innocent nothing bad will happen to you!" The Patriarch said but Bonny continuously shook his head furiously

"N-no!" Bonny cried out in despair as his power exploded and he tried running away from them

However, in front of all these people, how can he do that?

Number D2 simply pointed his wand below Bonny's feet and his shadow turned into tendrils that wrapped on his body and prevented him from moving

"Make one move again and I'll directly kill you" Number D2's cold voice entered Bonny's ears and the latter really sensed that another move from his will spell his death

In fear, Bonny didn't dare to move at all, he even forgot to breath for a few seconds as he was really terrified
