Boom !!

The skies above Calter shook and a bolt of red lightning as thick as a baby's arm descended down from the sky. That lightning only has one target and that is naturally Calter!

An image of Calter's black core was projected above him. It lowered the lightning's power and protected him from it. In the process, the core visibly shook with cracks appearing on it

The core projection was not able to fully protect Calter as some of the lightning still struck his body. The man's skin literally burst and blisters formed all over his body

His handsome face was melted a bit and even his hair was removed from his head. Even after all the medicines he used on his body, Calter is still this heavily injured

His slaves that have their minds affected by the oath wants to get close to their master and help but Calter just waved his hand for them to stop

This is something that only he must deal with. Although the pain that he felt was unimaginable as his body was literally fried, Calter is still calm

He was given a cheat and he must now work hard to maintain this cheat while surviving!

Calter's core was occupied and greedily absorbs the lightning from the heavens and was unable to give any form of additional help to Calter

The lightning swimming on the man's body continued destroying his flesh, forming even graver injuries. Calter closed his eyes again and cultivated according to the instructions from his core

A dark light covered Calter's whole body and it 'tamed' the red lightning. However, it was not something easy to do. The lightning was filled with endless majesty and will make one feel that any power in this world is too impure and weak in front of him

Calter can feel that this lightning have an even more imposing, mysterious, and domineering might than the light generated by swearing to the God of Order

The young master did his best as his mana fought back with the lightning while trying to pull it inside his body. Calter was still literally bleeding all over him but it was as if he doesn't care about that

Everything else in the world was forgotten. This crossing over a rank from Magic Apprentice to Magic Warrior has the lowest difficulty. But if Calter becomes careless, it would spell his death

"HAAAAHHH !!!" Calter shouted with his hoarse voice as his throat feels extremely dry

Calter had an access to all of his mana this time and all of them exploded at once causing a thick layer of black light to cover his body

This amount of mana is not something a Magic Apprentice should have! It was even much more than the ones that weak Magic Warriors has

The dark light and red lightning fought but as time goes by, the latter was losing and is being dragged inside Calter's body. This stage still has the lowest difficulty and Calter only needs to take it seriously to succeed

But of course, without the core projection above Calter that is still devouring the majority of the lightning, no matter how strong his willpower is, his body would still be obliterated

After the lightning was dragged inside Calter's body, his mana devoured it. The energy from the lightning was then spread all over the young master's body

Calter can feel unimaginable strength coursing through his body and at a rate visible to the eyes, all of his injuries were healed. In no more than a minute, he was back at his normal self

No bleeding, no blisters, no burnt marks, even his hair grew to their original size and looks. This rate of healing will make any mage healers or priest to blush in shame. They are simply too inferior!

Even after healing his heavily injured body, there are still a lot of energies left and they fortified Calter's foundation

Originally, Calter's body is impure from all the medicines he took but now, his foundation is even more solid than before thanks to that red lightning!

The core projection also finished absorbing its 'meal' and retracted back inside Calter's body. This made Calter to feel an even more powerful power inside him!

After the projection entered him, Calter heard a booming sound inside him. It was like some sort of barrier inside him was destroyed and his aura turned into one that a Magic Warrior have

But it doesn't end there, Calter's mind was suddenly pulled into a strange yet familiar world

When Calter's senses came back, he saw a vast world of pure darkness. No other element was present there, and even time and space was nowhere to be seen

This is the place that Calter exactly remembered after trying so hard to remember what happened in his past life yet he ended up losing his consciousness

When Calter looks at himself, he saw that he is just a ball of black light. This is his soul! His soul was actually drawn in such a mysterious place like this

But even then, Calter doesn't feel any sort of danger. The place instead gave him some feelings of belonging

Suddenly, not far from Calter's position, the darkness around condensed into a black eye. But Calter still have the same feeling

There is no danger. Calter even felt like this eye is familiar as if it has some sort of connection to him. A cautious man like Calter doesn't even feel any danger when he was suddenly brought into this place. It puzzled even him

The eye just stared at Calter with an unknown emotion on it before the darkness around condensed again and it flew towards Calter

But even then, Calter calmly accepted whatever it was. This place and this eye is making him feel weird as he doesn't sense any kind of danger

After the thing entered Calter's soul, the man felt another power coursing on him. But this time, it wasn't like the red lightning from before that wants to kill him. This one is very docile as if it was his own power

After that, the dark place vanishes, and Calter was back to reality. When the man opened his eyes, he was still in the time where he just broke through into the Magic Warrior Rank

The encounter from before suddenly felt like a fleeting dream. However, Calter can sense the power that the black eye gave to him. It was a proof that everything that happened wasn't a dream

Calter tried using it and he felt millions of ants crawling on his eyes. The pain was even stronger than his body being fried by the lightning

Because of the pain, Calter kneeled down on the ground as he shouts and almost all of his mana flowed towards his eyes. This made his slaves to panic again and they went to his side

This time, Calter doesn't have any strength to stop them and they turned to look at his face

The four were shocked to see that veins were popping around his eyes and blood even leaked out from it

The slaves did not know what to do and were about to carry Calter to see their healers but at this time, the pain subsided. Calter stopped shouting and ordered his slaves to move away from him

Calter slowly stood up while his eyes were closed. He wiped the blood that flowed down from his eyes before opening them

Suddenly, Calter saw a whole new world. The mages absorb mana on their bodies but it doesn't mean they can literally see it unless the mana is so dense like the ones on Magic Crystals

Mages mostly sensed them through their soul and then they will 'see' them but not in a literal way of using one's eyes

But Calter .... he can see them. He can see how the mana freely swimmed around. His vision become clearer than before as he can see finer details now

When Calter looked at Number D1, the Grand Knight was extremely shocked at what he saw. Calter's eyes are not the usual ones! It has a different appearance than the normal black orb

However, before Number D1 can even speak, he frowned as he sensed that something was invading his soul. Krad's soul is strong as he is a Grand Knight and he managed to dispel it easily. But ... why is his master using some sort of soul technique on him?

Number D1 just thought that this is something to do with Calter's current eyes

"M-master, what happened to your eyes?" D1 asked a bit nervous. The happenings today was just too shocking

First, an overwhelming aura appeared that literally brought the four Grand Knights on their knees and then a red lighting appeared that struck Calter's body. But the projection above the youth's head stopped the majority of it while the rest almost killed Calter

But now, if one look at Calter, they won't think that he's heavily injured just moments ago

Calter frowned and took a mirror from his spatial ring. To his shock, his eyes really are different now

They looked like two upside down black triangle that formed a star like shape. And Calter can feel unimaginable power on his eyes but frowned when he realized that it was consuming a lot of his mana every second that it was activated

A stream of information was transmitted to Calter's eyes and he now learned what that pair of eyes was

It was the Eye of Darkness called Karami!

Karami have several abilities and one of them is that one can see mana through their eyes. Another is that it can directly affect other people's soul and any soul spells casted through it will receive a great boost

The Karami as the Eyes of Darkness granted the user perfect and improved vision in a dark place. Now, the night will become even clearer than a day for Calter

Calter is already almost immuned to direct soul / illusion attacks because of the mana on his spirit sea but even indirect illusions are useless to him now!

Illusion magic uses mana and Calter can see mana itself! Calter can't see the mana inside his enemies but the ones outside can be easily seen by him!

There are also other abilities that Karami gives to the user but Calter deactivated it for now. Activating Karami uses too much mana even when Calter have a lot comparing to normal Magic Warriors at his level

"Let us go back in the tower" Calter said and started walking on his own. Although his slaves have a lot of question on their minds, but they didn't dare ask any of it from the fear that Calter will be annoyed by them

Even though Calter is only sixteen years old, how cruel he can be is well known to his slaves

Calter entered the tower and went to his room to inspect all the changes that happened to him. His body was stronger and he can feel that it can store a lot more mana than before

He still has ten times more mana than normal Magic Warriors and that is a lot! Magic Warriors already have a lot more mana than mere Magic Apprentices

Humans can grow up to peak of Magic Apprentices without improving their bodies. But to become a Magic Warrior, they must have a higher quality body that can store more mana

Their mana are higher and even their spells are much stronger. An Apprentice is like an elementary student while a warrior is college student. The difference is big!

Magic Warriors have three times more mana than peak Apprentices. Calter is only at a low level and that is followed by mid, high, and peak

Although low-level warriors have three times more mana than peak apprentices, but every increase in level wouldn't be that high

Low level and mid-level only has around 10% difference in mana. Only when the mage reached Knight or Grand Knight rank will they have another explosive increase in mana

The thing that really separates each level of Magic Warriors is the spells they use. Calter can now use the spells he learned and made from his previous life

But of course, he needs to tone it down a lot as his stronger soul and body are still not enough to take the burden of using such spells. But even then, he is now much more flexible than before and even his mana grew a lot!

However, having mana is not that much beneficial to him now. He might have a lot of mana but can Calter use it all? Of course not! His soul still has a limit after all!
