The Queen smiled at that and Halli walks towards the man his heart wants to own and his brain wants to get away with. "Please follow me." Halli said gently yet the dissatisfaction on his heart grew when he saw Kier staring at him

Halli thought that Kier was attracted by his appearance. Which wasn't surprising as Halli is considered one of the most handsome men on the whole Thunder Gold Kingdom

Kier is also extremely good-looking but Halli doesn't like where things are going. If Kier took a liking to him, it would be harder to stop his parents from forcing him to marry this man

As for Kier, he was staring at Halli's face because he was trying to remember if he already had an encounter with Halli before. There's also a sense of discomfort in his heart when Halli looks at him as if he's just a normal person

The most puzzling thing is that Kier's heart wants Halli to look at him gently like he is the only person on the man's heart which is simply absurd. Love is not something on Kier's vocabulary

There is only one thing that Kier greatly wants, and that is power! He wants to have personal power and not just rely on other people's protection

Kier desired to become powerful on his own! If not for his parents, he wouldn't even make the effort to meet the Crowned Prince that was famous for messing around with everyone

Kier just nods his head as an answer and moved his gaze away from Halli. He realizes that he was staring at the man for too long which was totally inappropriate and he doesn't want to create a misunderstanding (Unfortunately, he already does)

The two walk side by side with no one of them talking or making any sound. The silence between them made Kier's heart agitated. He doesn't know why, but his heart wants Halli to bug and annoy him which made Kier irritated. Why would he even want Halli to do that to him?

After getting far enough from where his mother is, Halli started putting distance between him and Kier. The Crowned Prince started walking to the front as if it was his way to show Kier that there is a distance between their social standing

This causes a frown to form on Kier's handsome face. He doesn't like pompous Young Masters who were only able to act like that because of their parents or backing

Kier dislikes arrogant people like this and his impression of Halli hit rock bottom. The rumors were really true. The Crowned Prince is truly arrogant and thinks that everyone is below him

Soon, the two reached the Imperial Garden. It was like what one will expect from it. Rows and rows of beautiful flowers were aligned perfectly

Colorful butterflies were flying around that painted a beautiful scenery. There was also a small pond with lively fish swimming inside it

Not far from that pond were chairs and tables that have golden engravings on them. Every single part of the Garden screamed wealth

But that isn't really surprising. The Thunder Gold Kingdom is famous for its wealth, how can their Royal Family be poor?

After reaching the Garden, Halli turned around to look at Kier. Along the way, the Crowned Prince crafted his speech towards Kier but when he looked at the familiar handsome face of the man, his words were completely blocked on his throat

The thought of hurting Kier with his words stabbed Halli in the heart. His heart can't bear to do it, it's like it will hurt him too if he does that

However, Halli's brain won this round. The memories of him messing around and banging everyone he wants, flashed on his head and Halli is unwilling to abandon that for a man that he 'doesn't even know'

Halli coughed a bit to compose himself before speaking with a cold voice. "Let me be honest here, I don't want to marry someone like you! If you are a sensible person you will know what to do and won't come begging me for marriage!" Halli blatantly and rudely said causing Kier's face to darken

The Crowned Prince thought that Kier was hurt by his words as the man took a liking towards him. It instantly brought great pain to his heart that he immediately ignored. He is being 'weird' today and he doesn't like that

Contrary to what Halli thought, Kier isn't really hurt .... well, a bit. But just like Halli, the man just threw that pain at the back of his head. This is his first time meeting Halli, why would he want for the man to like him?

Besides, the arrogance of Halli irritated Kier to the core. He can marry anyone but not this Crowned Prince that has a head as big as the biggest watermelon on the world!

Kier was greatly offended by Halli. His position might not be as high as a Prince but he has his own pride as the Vere Family's Young Master

Kier can't allow his Clan to lose face. Even the King won't treat them like shit, how can a mere Crowned Prince do that?

"Rest assured Prince, I also don't want to marry someone weaker than me!" The tone that Kier used was venomous as the dislike he has for this Prince grew

Halli was taken aback by Kier's answer. As the Crowned Prince, who would dare say such things to him? The Nobles will only do that behind his back but this Kier actually did it face to face to him!

Well, Kier wouldn't actually be punished too much even if this matter was known to everyone as Kier also needs to protect the Vere Family's face. At most, the Royal Family will reprimand the Vere Family for show

Kier just smiled coldly as an answer. No matter what, a Prince is still a Prince. Kier can't talk too much shit

"I'll excuse myself now 'Your Highness'" Kier bowed a bit but both his words and actions look sarcastic for Halli which made the man angrier

If Kier didn't come from the Kingdom's Number 1 General, Halli would have punished him severely already!

Kier turned his back despite his heart wanting to be with Halli longer to go back on his Clan. He doesn't have the patience to continue being in the same space as someone who thinks too highly of themselves but doesn't have the power to back it up

Kier leaving made Halli feel that his pride was stepped on harder by the former and he can't allow that! If there is someone that should walk out, it must be him and not the other man!

"Wait!" Halli shouted causing Kier to pause. In truth, Kier doesn't want to deal with the Crowned Prince any longer but his heart was delighted by the man's words causing his body to stop

"I challenge you to a duel! You said I'm weaker than you and I'll prove you wrong!" Halli used the excuse that he wants to prove that he is stronger than Kier but he actually has another plan

Halli wants to prove himself to Kier because of his currently messed up heart. The hateful thing is that, just why would Halli want to do that because of someone he only met today? Even Halli does not know the answer to that

In the past, Halli won't have this confidence. But he encountered a powerful mage yesterday that blessed him!

Despite not being able to check everything that the mage gave to him, Hallis is still confident of his own power. His lightning power received a huge boost despite him not yet starting to train on his Cultivation Art

Kier turned his head back to the Crowned Prince with an amused expression on his face. The Prince that is known for only using his parents' resources to have a 'decent' talent was actually this too much of a fool

The same was true for the cases of mages that looks mediocre in their younger years but actually broke through into Grand Knight or even the rank above that

That is why it was hard to judge one's talent when they are still young. As for the Crowned Prince .... it was not that hard to determine his talent

"A duel?" Kier asked and Halli smiled smugly at him. "Why? Are you scared?"

Kier thought that the Prince's reason for challenging him is to humiliate him. Since Halli is like this then Kier will defeat him on his own game. Kier is confident in his current power too!

"Alright, I accept and I apologized early if I accidentally hurt the Prince"

Halli narrowed his eyes while looking at Kier. He doesn't like the attitude that the youth is giving him. The yearning on his heart was quickly overshadowed by the anger that comes from his arrogance
