When the streaks of lightning clashed, a surprising thing happened. Instead of destroying or canceling each other, the two actually fused into one!

That wasn't the most shocking thing for the two though. It was the fact that they can feel something on the lightning of the others!

Their lightning has a similar aura as if they came from the same source. Even the red tinge on them was similar and one will think that the lightning came from the same person

Halli and Kier's eyes went wide open as they stared at each other incredulously. Both of them are aware that their lightning is not normal

It came from the powerful mage and their lightning is superior to normal people's lightning. They can't believe that they actually have exactly the same power

This only means that they both met the Senior Mage and he blessed them!

The two just stared at each other in shock and a gentle wind blew by that fluttered both of their hair

"Y-you! How can you have that lightning power?!" Halli asked aggressively. He thought that he was the one that was blessed by that senior and he took pride in it. But now, you're actually telling him that there is one more person that has the same power as his? The arrogance from Halli 'growing up' as a Prince won't let that happen!

Red lightning is not that rare. There are a lot of cultivation arts out there that will make one's lightning red in color. But the two clearly felt that theirs have the exact same aura and power

"What are you talking about?" Kier feigned ignorance. Meeting that senior is Kier's greatest secret, he can't disclose it to anyone especially to this Prince that has a mind as narrow as the narrowest street in the world

"Are you taking me for a fool?!" Halli asked coldly. As a Prince, no one has ever shown this kind of attitude in front of him. He's used to interacting with people that do all their best to curry favor on him. Halli only needs to be respectful to his parents and even the Nobles needs to 'treat him kindly' when he is present

"Seems like the Crowned Prince doesn't want to continue the duel. I'll excuse myself for now" Kier bowed a bit at Halli as the latter is still a Royal. Kier turns his back to go as far away as possible from the prince

Staying here won't benefit Kier. He also doesn't want his secret to be leaked. If others knew that he has a cultivation art that is superior to the ones that the Royal Family has, it would spell a huge disaster

It's not only the Nobles and Royals from the Thunder Gold Kingdom that will covet it, even the influential and powerful figures of the other Kingdoms will do their best to possess his treasure

Unlike Halli, Kier has a smart mind that isn't clouded by arrogance. He knew how the world works and he needs to be very careful

Kier walks faster as he can feel Halli chasing him. He was only forced to stop when the Prince hold his wrist

It was just Halli holding his wrist but Kier felt electric currents all over his body. It was a familiar yet unfamiliar feeling. He even had the impulse to intertwine his fingers with Halli's

The same was especially true for Halli. The feeling of soft flesh on his hand gave him nostalgia. His mind is foreign to this touch but the same cannot be said to his body. It's like a natural thing for him to hold Kier's hand and kiss it

The two stayed in that position for a while before the 'reasoning' side of Kier urged him to break free from Halli's hold. Staying with someone as ignorant and arrogant as Halli is dangerous when you are 'carrying a treasure' on your body

It would be better if he doesn't associate himself with the prince

Kier took back his wrist before bowing towards Halli again. "Crowned Prince, please let me return to my clan and I won't bother you again"

Kier was about to walk away again before Halli stopped him. "O-our duel! It is still not finished. If you run away now it'll make you look guilty of knowing what I meant of you having that lightning power"

Although Halli is normally arrogant and isn't that smart, but he still has some brains that he can use. Halli is almost a hundred percent sure that Kier has the same lightning as him but he wants to make sure of it

Kier's expression turned dark at Halli's words and his mind started to think of a way to get away from this situation

Unfortunately, Halli won't give him the time that he needs. The Crowned Prince moved away from Kier before giving a warning. "I'll attack now, be serious if you don't want to get hurt!"

Halli's Magic Ring glowed with yellow light and his mind felt clearer again. His mana then gathered on his palm and it turned into yellow lightning with some red tinge on them

"[Lightning Magic: Volta!]" Halli shouted and threw his palm in Kier's direction. He conjured the same streak of yellow lightning from before and it advanced towards Kier

A frown that made Kier's face more handsome formed before he did the same and activated his spell. "[Lightning Magic: Volta!]"

A streak of identical lightning was shot by Kier's palm and the same thing happened again. The two identical lightning fused with each other making its power stronger than before

The powers becomes too much for the two and forced them to wave their hands to the side at the same time. The plants around were scorched as the lightning fried their bodies

The expression on Halli's face turned colder as he is now 100% sure that Kier has similar lightning with his. This gave Halli a desire to defeat Kier in a humiliating way to show that he is superior. While his heart was scolding him for wanting to do that

Too bad that at this time, the brain's influence is bigger and Halli turned serious

"[Lightning Magic: Lightning Cloak!]" Yellow-colored lightning with some tinge of red swam around Halli's body. Halli's mind knows this spell but just like the Volta spell, it gave him a sense of unfamiliarity as if this was the first time that he activated such a spell

But since Halli's desire to defeat Kier is great, he ignored other things and focuses on the fight. Halli took a dagger from his spatial ring and his speed exploded while he charged at Kier's position

Although Halli felt that this way of fighting using a weapon is strange, in his memories, it was just a common thing

Hali desired to defeat Kier while Kier desired to end this as soon as possible and their actions actually mirrored each other

Kier activated the Lightning Cloak spell and retrieved a dagger from his spatial ring too while dashing at Halli's position

The two were shocked that even the way they fought is similar. Sparks flew around as their daggers clashed with each other

The two stared straight into their eyes that made their focus wavered for a moment before jumping backward

The two had the same question of why staring at the other made their hearts beat crazily as if it wants to jump out of their chest. If they keep staring at each other like that, their focus will be gone

As Kier is more experienced, he bit his tongue and the pain woke him up. He hardened his mind and heart so that no matter what Halli make him feel, he won't be affected. And Kier will also fully ignore the sense of strangeness when fighting like this

His body is only used at firing spells to the enemy and the enemy will either dodge it using a speed-boosting spell or block it with another spell. But that is a stupid thing that only people at dead realms are doing

Realms like the Escardon Realm have different ways of fighting. With more resources, the more they can improve their bodies. Even normal mages can fight with their bodies as they have greater stamina, speed, defense, and strength than the realms that can only produce a Grand Knight

"[Lightning Magic: Lightning Blade!]" Lightning coated Kier's daggers and he charged at Halli's direction for the second time. He needs to finish this as soon as possible

Kier's figure cut the air while his dagger aimed for Halli. The Crowned Prince wasn't able to recover as fast as Kier and hastily used another spell to defend himself

"[Lightning Magic: Voltar Ball!]" Halli condensed mana on his left hand and conjured a ball of lightning with it. This ball packed a lot of lightning but their powers are not properly controlled causing its strength to lower by a huge amount

Halli might not be experienced but the senior blessed his body. His normal power increased and even the usage of mana and spells were smooth and easy

Halli threw the ball towards Kier forcing the latter to block using the dagger in his hand. Kier cut the lightning ball in half before realizing his mistake

Kier becomes impatient and wants to finish this as soon as possible and add that to the fact that today, all his powers are unfamiliar to him clouded his judgment

Just like what he expected, the lightning in Halli's attack exploded and in this close proximity, Kier won't be able to dodge and the lightning will hit his body

Kier should have won over Halli but his impatience messed everything up. He can't believe that he'll lose to someone he was looking down

However, the pain that Kier expected didn't show up. Halli's lightning wasn't able to harm him at all. In fact, the lightning from the ball fused with the lightning on Kier's daggers as if it was the most natural thing to do

Even Halli was stupefied at that giving Kier a chance to recover. Not wanting to make any more mistakes, Kier continued rushing towards his opponent

Halli is still the Prince and Kier only aimed at the man's shoulder intending to just get the tip of his daggers to Halli's clothes. But they were both stupefied again

Kier's dagger is only a few centimeters away from Halli but no matter how much strength he puts on his arm, the dagger just won't advance any farther

It was the lightning's fault again! Halli can't harm Kier using his lightning and the same was true for Kier

After the failed attacks to hurt the other, the two jumped backward again in unwillingness. They have their own goals in winning and ending this fight yet they can't determine the winner as their powers will either fuse or prevent them from winning

Kier was unwilling to believe this outcome and activated another spell. "[Lightning Magic: Volta!]" Kier made three streaks of lightning from his palm and fired it towards Halli with the intent to win

"Hmph!" Halli moved to the side, intending to dodge but Kier waved his hand and the streaks of lightning changed their direction

Kier's spell made a direct hit on Halli's body but not even a scratch can be seen on the youth. Just like before, their magical powers fused with each other

"What are the two of you doing?" A woman's voice entered the ears of the two youths and they saw the Queen looking at them with knitted brows

Kier's face paled a bit at seeing the Queen. If the Queen was angered, although his family will protect him, but it might deteriorate the relationship between the two families

It's okay if it's just angering Halli but for the Queen to see their disagreement personally is different. The Queen will naturally favor her own son

Seeing the looks on Kier's face, the Prince smirked evilly before looking at his mother with an 'innocent smile'

"Royal Mother, we are just having a friendly spar. Please don't misunderstand things, we actually took a liking to each other and are considering the marriage"

Kier's fierce eyes turned to look at Halli after hearing the man's words. Just when did the two like each other? Isn't it actually the opposite of that? Does something hit the Prince's head without Kier knowing?
