If Kier isn't skillful enough in masking his real emotions and keeping it to himself, he would have surely exploded already. Just how thick-skinned the Crowned Prince can be?

In anger, Kier subtly pinches Halli's hands. It was a show of anger but for the Queen, it was Kier being shy as Halli is this straightforward causing her to chuckle a bit

Kence was pulled back to reality because of his guard's voice and quickly answered with a smile "No, I'm fine"

The guard can only nod his head although he was still a bit suspicious

In fact, Kence is actually really fine. Four days ago, he woke up and everything gave him a sense of unfamiliarity but now, he is coping up with it little by little. The only thing that he can't ignore was the sense of emptiness in his heart as if it wants to see and be with someone. But aside from that, nothing troubled Kence too much aside from one thing

For the past days, Kence thinks that he's turning insane. He somehow felt like his Moon Necklace is urging him to go to a place with lots of ice and snow

He ignored it for some time but the more time that passed, the more the urging feeling becomes stronger. He decided to just do what the necklace wants since there are a lot of Ice and Snow mountains in Cold Blue Kindom, it wasn't hard to find and go on one

The admission for the Escardon Academy is also near and Kence can use this chance to train by fighting Magic Beasts

In some sense, this is a win-win situation for Kence. He can satisfy that strange urge while also being able to train in the wild

However, since Kence is special to the King's brother, he can't easily visit such a dangerous area. He was accompanied by two guards and both of them are in the Grand Knight Rank

Kence's guard opened the door and exited first before helping the youth exit the carriage. As soon as Kence's feet landed on the ground, he immediately felt the soft snow and his feet slightly sinks a bit

The citizens of Cold Blue Kingdom are all used to cold climate but the dangerous areas such as this mountain is still a lot colder than where the humans live. It would be perfectly normal if Kence will need clothes that will offer better protection from the cold

Feeling how comfortable he is in this kind of cold environment, Kence shook his head as an answer. This kind of temperature actually makes Kence feel good!

Even normal Ice Mage will feel cold but Kence is different. He even wants to be in a colder environment

Kence and one of his guards continued and climbed the tall and wide mountain. The coachman was left to watch the carriage. Kence's guard is still a Grand Knight and as long as they don't goo too far from the mountain's foot, they should be safe

The first enemy that Kence encountered was a pack of five Ice Wolves. These wolves have slight blue thick fur and are quite fast. They are common creatures but are powerful on their own as they are fast and has sharp claws

Fighting five wolves at the same level as Kence is pushing it too far. Thus, his guard easily killed four of the wolves. As these are the first ones, it wouldn't be bad to fight one as a warm-up

Looking at the dead wolves, Kence felt quite sad but he still knew that it can't be helped. Even if his guard doesn't kill the wolves, these creatures with low intelligence will attack others on sight. And in a world where power is everything, one must be able to take lives if necessary

Kence doesn't want to kill the wolf but his heart is urging him to become stronger

Kence readied himself and his Magic Ring glowed with a blue light. His mind felt clearer than before and with the help of his Magic Ring, it was a bit easier to control mana now

The youth channeled mana on his palms and waved it on the air "[Ice Magic: Ice Spikes!]"

Kence activated his spell and two spikes of ice rose from the ground, aiming for the wolf's sides. The wolf has a fast speed and managed to dodge the ice spikes before they can kill it

However, the wolf's blood still spilled on the white snow below as the ice spikes managed to injured it a bit

As a retaliation, the wolf opened its mouth and fired shards of ice in Kence's direction. Kence naturally won't let himself be defeated just like that and used another spell

"[Ice Magic: Ice Blessing!]" With the help of his boosting spell, Kence managed to barely dodge the wolf's attack and two throwing knives appeared in his hands

Kence also applied icy energy on the throwing knives to increase their power before he threw them towards the wolf, creating two lines of icy light

Too bad that Kence's attack was slower than he imagined and the wolf easily dodged the throwing knives. His body is unfamiliar with this kind of fighting style although it was how mages in the Escardon Realm fought

A cute frown formed on Kence's face before he threw the matter at the back of his mind. He can't let himself be defeated by the Ice Wolf

After dodging the throwing knives, the wolf pounced at Kence and coated its claws with mana. No doubt that it will rip Kence's fragile body if it hits him

Kence's guard also readied his spell in case that Kence won't be able to dodge. Kence looks like a fragile thin sheet of ice and it gave everyone the desire to protect him. The guard won't let any harm come to such an untainted youth

However, Kence is not as weak as people think. His body is just foreign to the fighting style he now has and that caused his attack speed to lower. But it doesn't mean that Kence is weak!

"[Ice Magic: Ice Birds!]" Kence's mana turned into three birds made from ice and they flew in different directions

One charged straight to the wolf and the others went on its side. The wolf used its claw to destroy the bird that charged straightly at it. That enabled the other two birds to land a direct hit on their target

The wolf cried out in pain as two deep wounds were left by the ice birds on its body. Kence didn't waste any more time and used another spell "[Ice Magic: Ice Spikes!]" Two spikes of ice rose from the ground again and they penetrated the wolf's body, giving it more injury

The guard was quite surprised at this. Kence's spell casting speed is too fast! He can form a spell in a second or a bit more than a second despite breaking through on the Warrior Rank not too long ago

The wolf's blood dyed the ground and it whimpered in pain before looking at Kence with ferocious eyes

Seeing this much blood aroused something on Kence's heart and he suddenly had an urge to vomit. It was like there is something horrible that his body remembered from this kind of sight 

The wolf opened its mouth again and shot a beam of blue light towards Kence. As Kence was a bit distracted, it was almost a bit late when he realizes that an attack is coming his way
